J. J. looked at the food in front of her in wonder. She wasn't used to so much of it.
But of course with a school with this many students it made sense for there to be a lot of food. They obviously wouldn't want their students to go hungry.
She eyed the selections in front of her unsure which one to take. At home she was use to whatever she was eyeing being taken before she could snatch it. You would think at the rate the food left her house they had more than four children in the house. It felt more like they had eight.
She jumped as squawking came from over head and owls filled the room. She had forgotten how wizards got their mail.
She, despite herself, looked hopefully up at the owls landing to the students around her.
But of course none of it was for her. Her parents didn't have an owl, let alone understand why one would want to use it for transporting letters.
With a sigh, she took a piece of toast and began to butter it, eyeing the students sitting around her.
She wondered which ones she already knew, and which ones she didn't.
Biting into her toast, she wondered if she'd be able to make any friends at this place at all.
