L4- 3rd Years- Antidote
Shaun was in a good mood after the refreshing break, and hoped his students brain won't be overly jammed up with lessons, making them prone to blow up their cauldrons. He checked each of the workstations, his stock of ingredients, then took a seat in his desk. with a wave of his wrist, writing appeared on the board:
Antidotes to Uncommon Poisons

Aireon walked into the classroom ready to feet to lessons. He'd been bored during the break. Things had become slow. Getting back to Hogwarts was a good thing to him.
"Good morning, professor," he greeted. He sat down and looked at the bored. This could be useful in the future.

"Morning Mr. Thiren." Shaun nodded to the boy, "Had a nice break?"

Arsen sighed as he made his way back down to the dungeons, why his father insisted he stayed in school was beyond him but he did it anyway. Mostly because he liked living. He entered the classroom and head straight for his desk without a sound, where he waited patiently for the lessons to begin.

Ondrea paused a moment outside the door of the classroom to take in a centering breath. It had quickly become a ritual of hers, actually.
Exhaling, she pushed open the door and walked inside. Classmate. Classmate. Professor. She quickly took a seat that a fairly equal distance from the other occupants in the room. Her eyes flitted anxiously about the room as she took out her supplies. Perhaps she could convince her parents to get her a tutor so she could learn at home? Then, she wouldn't have to attend classes. No matter, most people had already figured out that she was a stammering mess, anyhow, so they probably wouldn't talk to her.

Rebecca walked into the classroom and looked around, three other students here before her, that wasn't bad, she didn't like getting to places too early or too late because then she was sure to be noticed by somebody, but if you arrived in the middle of the flow then you were more likely to be passed over.
Sighing she took a seat at the back of the classroom and looked at the board, taking out her parchment and quill, waiting for further instruction from the professor.

Demo peered around the room, feeling uncomfortable with the tense crowd. He wasn't sure if any kind of pseudo-foolishness would cheer anyone up, and quite conversely, he decided it would be best to sit down and shut up.
He sat in a seat, separate from the other students, but not too far away to seem antisocial.

"Welcome to everyone who signed up recently." Shaun looked each of them in the eye, starting with Rebecca. "I expect active participation from each of you" his eyes sweeping on Arsen, Thiren and Demo. He gave Ondrea an encouraging nod. Well he supposed it was encouraging.
"Now can anyone tell me how do you recognize a victim of uncommon poisons?"

Rebecca noted how the Professor looked at her when he began his talk on how he expected particpation. intentional or not it now made her want to say something, if only to take the heat off of her.
Raising her hand she waited to be called on and then said:
"Their body systems would shut down? They could stop breathing, their circulation might slow or stop. They may show some of the signs of known poisions too, shaking, vomitting, paleness of the skin or a decreased/increased temperature?"

"Thank you Ms. Holloway. Five points to Slytherin. But the most notable sympton is suffocation. The victim is unable to breath. Now lets get on to the potions. Who can name one of the ingredients and its function in the potion?" Shaun smiled in anticipation, maybe this class would be a better one.

Kenzi dashed into the room, her heart beating like a drum. She sat on one of the chairs, and thankfully, she had heard the question from the hallway.
"Isn't Fire Seeds one of the ingredients?" she asked. "To make sure that the antidote doesn't become a poison or something?"

"Correct Ms. Faraday. It'd be ten points to you, But two points are deducted for everyone coming late. So eight points to Hufflepuff. Anyone else?" Shaun waited impatiently, it can't be that hard.

Ondrea timidly raised her hand. "M-mandragora root, s-sir," she responded. "It-it's a re-restorative."

Shaun shook his head, "No, Ms. Montgomery. They are restorative against curses. Not poisons. Alright to speed things up, I'll tell you the ingresdients. You tell me the function."
He wrote on the board,
Antidote to Uncommon Poisons
Ingredients:
Fire Seeds- Antitoxin
Powdered Graphon Horn-
Billywig Stings-
Chizpurfle Carapaces-
"Now, tell me the uses. And Ms. Montgomery, see me in my office after the class. I'd like to have a chat with you." Shaun crossed his arms in front of his chest.

Ondrea gave a minute frown. Though it was certainly true that mandrake was commonly used to counteract the effects of curses, she was certain it was also an essential part to most antidotes. Not that she was about to argue with the professor over the matter.
The girl had started to think of the functions of the other ingredients Professor Moody had written on the board when he said he wanted to talk to her after class.
All other thoughts fled her mind. Hands clasping tightly together in her lap, Ondrea's gaze focused unseeingly upon her desktop. Oh,dear.Oh,dear.Oh,dear.Oh,dear.Oh,dear.Oh,dear....

Aireon scanned the list. He thought through all the muggle medicine he learned. One ingredient stuck out to him.
"Sir, would the function of billywig stings be to act as a relaxant for the throat muscles?" he guessed. The answer seemed correct, but he prepared himself to be wrong.

Lucy walked quickly into the room, steadying her breathing after half running there. She muttered a quick apology and made her way to a seat at the back of the class, she was late and the last thing she needed was to be expected to answer any questions, or present herself to ridicule.

"Correct Mr. Thiren. Ten points to Slytherin. And Ms. Lovegood, two points from Gryffindor. Try not to be late again." Shaun turned to the rest of the class.
"So this leaves us with the Graphon Horn and Chizpurfle Carapaces. What are the uses? Anyone? Any ideas?"

"For the Graphon Horn, yes. Five points to Hufflepuff. The Chizpurfle Carapaces absorbs the poison. But the thing is that,it's properties are only released when prepared properly." Shaunglanced at his wristwatch, "Oh, we're running out of time. We'll brew the potion in the next class. Class dismissed."

Re: L4- 3rd Years- Antidote
Ondrea's head snapped up when the professor dismissed them, abruptly realizing she had practically checked out in her anxiety over talking to the professor. What did he want to speak to her about? She was certain she'd done well the previous class, and she even made an effort to answer in class - didn't professors like that? Maybe not when their pupils were difficult to understand...
Her hands ached from having been clasped together so long. Stiffly releasing them, she slowly packed away her belongings and made her way to the front of the class.
"Y-you w-want-ed to s-speak to m-e, p-pr-profes-sor?" she asked nervously.

Shaun watched as the others filed out of the room. Only Ondrea remained.
He smiled to reassure her, then said, "I did. But I think it can wait till the next session. You have a new Head of the House, right? Did you have a talk with her? Since you're a transfer student, joining in the middle of the year?"

Ondrea didn't know whether she should fell relieved or terrified that the professor wanted to put whatever he wished to speak to her about. She almost wanted to cry just thinking about it.
Swallowing, Ondrea shook her head, the motion jerky. "N-no, s-sir," she answered. "I d-d-don't need t-to t-talk to aanyone." Wouldn't do any good, anyway, she added silently. "Juuust a-a bit n-n-nervous, is all."
Or as one healer had put it - a therapist her parents had consulted - Ondrea suffered from chronic, severe social anxiety disorder, further expressed by multiple phobias, timidity, bashfulness, diffidence, apprehension, stammering, and pathologic shyness. It was hard to imagine that she seemed completely normal around her family.
