Unpacking and Settling In Empty Unpacking and Settling In

Post by Kirsten Cresswell Sun Nov 20, 2011 2:59 am

She was here. Finally . Kirsten could hardly believe it! She spun in a slow circle, taking in every amazing feature of the gorgeous Ravenclaw common room. She felt a swell of house pride as she took in the plush couches and overall blue theme.

A permanent grin fixed on her flushed face, Kirsten placed her hefty trunk down with a grunt and clasped her hands together. It appeared she was first into the common room, and she couldn't wait for some of her fellow Ravenclaw's to arrive.

Until that happened, she took the opportunity to sit on one of the comfortable and plush couches, crossing her legs delicately. She rustled around in her trunk and fetched out her well-read and worn copy of Hogwarts: A History and settled down to read ...

He was overwhelmed with happiness as he answered the simple riddle to allow access into the common rrom, he ran in and after throwing his trunk on the ground let out a loud "YES! I'm here!"...
He noticed a girl sitting on the couch and blushed at his actions, how embarrassing, it was Kirsten
"Hey, kirsten. Sorry about that, I'm abit excited" he came over and sat next to her he gave her a quick side hug and said swiftly
"if were first here we should get first beds" he raised his eyebrow to see what she thought

Kirsten was engrossed in the section of The Chamber of Secrets, her lips moving silently as she speedily devoured the words. She was suddenly interuppted and jolted fiercely back to reality as she heard an excited declaration of arrival.

Kirsten couldn't help but giggle as Vincent came into view, and the familiar bout of butterflies in her stomach that usually accompanied Vincent's presence started. "That's quite alright," she said warmly, glad a familiar face was the first into the common room. She placed her book gingerly down on the floor and smiled back up at Vincent as he suggested that they stake claim to the beds.

"That is an excellent idea," Kirsten said, agreeing with his contention. "First in best dressed, I suppose!"

He raced and grabbed his trunk, saying
"I'll see you back here as soon as I'm done" he rushed up and opened the door, searching through the large rooms of beds he found the one that was in the best condition and it happened to be right next to the door. He placed his trunk down and stood back, he pulled his wand out and with it:
unlatched his trunk, his sheets and clothes flying around the room and organising itself in draws and his bed made. He replaced his wand and pushed his trunk under his bed.
He was thinking of Kirsten, she was very nice and polite, she was also lady-like something he wasn't quiet use to. She also had a finesse about her that he just liked. His thoughts then went to Briony as he sat on his newly made bed, was he overreacting with Briony just being a hormonal boy or did he actually like her... And if he did, she was married so what were his chances?
Kirsten... let's see what happens during the year

Kirsten followed Vincent's lead and went into the dorms, searching for a bed. She found a lovely position right near the window with a breathtaking view of Hogwarts. She sighed dreamily, visions of the year ahead swirling through her mind. She hoped everything turned out to her expectations!

Neatly unpacking and folding everything she owned into the bedside chest of drawers, she hummed a few bars of Ballade Pour Adeline - her mother's favourite song - as she worked methodically. She was once again lost in her thoughts; familiar territory.

When the job was done she got to her feet and arched her back to stretch out the joints.

She walked slowly back into the common room, fiddling with her hair in her usual absent-minded manner, and re-seated herself on the couch. She waited for Vincent to reappear with a mixture of patience and excitement. He was such a nice boy.

As to appear nonchalant, Kirsten flipped to the page she was up to in Hogwarts: A History and stared at the page, for once in her life not taking anything in as her mind swirled with thoughts and dreams ...

Lost in thought he realised he;d been sitting up on his bed without going down to see Kirsten, he swiftly got up uncreased his bed and silently closed the dormitory door behind him and came down the stairs finding Kirsten reading she was so smart he came up behind her as quietly as possible and crouched looking at the page she was reading. He never really liked history but Kirsten seemed interested so why not.
He noticed her hair laying gently on the couch, it smelt lovely and looked amazing, he tried to ignore it as he got hooked on the page in her book.

The first inclination of a presence behind her came with the sound of soft, almost imperceptable footfalls, and then an intoxicating smell and a light breath on her back. Kirsten slowly drifted back to reality as all these senses came together, and she turned around to find Vincent crouched cutely behind her.

She smiled brightly, happy that he'd finally re-appeared. "Hey there," she said warmly. "All unpacked and settled?"

He smiled at Kirsten and moved next to her, answering "Yeah all fine, I finally used magic, it's been ages" he lightly chickled and asked
"What classes are you taking?" he looked deep into her eyes, something he did to really know a person. It sometimes made things awkward but to him it was the best way to a persons soul.

Kirsten usually avoided eye contact - it always made her feel uncomfortable and overly scrutinised - however when Vincent locked eyes with her she fould herself mesmerized; unable to break away.

Almost trance-like she answered his question, "I'm taking Care of Magical Creatures, Herbology, Flying, Potions, Defence Against the Dark Arts, Charms, Transfiguration, Divination and Astronomy," she giggled, "I've got my work cut out for me!"

Still locked in his gaze, she then asked, "And what are you taking?"

He usually saw past a person's eyes and saw their soul but for the first time Vincent was lost in Kirsten's eyes.
"Care of Magical Creatures, Both duellings, transfiguration, muggle studies, I think that's...." he lost his train of thought as he was lost in the ocean of blue that was Kirsten's eyes, he grabbed both her shoulders and tried to tear himself out of the trance that was affecting him more than it should, but all he could do was grip her shoulder's he froze there unable to move. What was happening to him?
It must have seemed like a romantic move on the outside but on the inside he couldn't move his mind was filling with all the memories and feelings that Kirsten had, but it was all a blur he couldn't understand any of it.

As Vincent trailed off, Kirsten thought he'd simply lost his train of thought, and she waited patiently for him to continue ... until he suddenly grabbed her by both shoulders. She jumped with fright. At first, she thought he was trying to kiss her, but she shook the stupid thought away as it appeared that something was horribly wrong.

"Vincent...?" she asked softly. He gave no inclination that he could hear her. Not even one blink. She tried to reach him again, more furtively this time, by gripping his shoulders tightly and shaking him, "VINCENT! Oh my goodness, Vincent!"

All he saw was blurred faces, all he. felt was happiness, sorrow but now fear overwhelming fear. He sawchimself through kirstens eyes, he felt her fear. His head bobbed back and the eye contact broke, his brain felt as though it were on fire, he grabbed his head and yelled falling on the floor, the pain was unbearable. It had been a few minutes and the pain vanished as quick as it arrived. He stood with a jolt, and sat down
"what just happened?" He asked while looking around the room

"I have no idea," Kirsten breathed, a tad freaked out over what had just happened. "I thought I lost you there for a moment!"

She bit her lip, concentrating, going through the files stored in her mind, trying to figure out what had happened to Vincent. She came up with blanks. So she settled with a concerned question, "Are you ok?"

He held his head, he felt a small essence of his mind ache as Kirsten's life stored itself, still to be decoded.
"That has never happened before" he deliberately avoided eye contact but looked in her general direction
"I'm so sorry" he shuffled closer to her and hugged her
"I really am" he hugged her tight and hoped she felt alright
