Iva nodded again, watching the sad little spark on his wand die out. She agreed on how it must "suck" (What an odd term!) and began to play with the hem of her shorts.

This was such a sad scene, she thought. Two of them, crying in a room. After they left, they probably wouldn't even talk again. She thought about leavng, then decided against it.

"So," She mumbled, trying to get over the subject on to a new one. "How is Karma doing? You talk to her more than me."

Damian shrugged a shoulder. "Haven't talked to her since I saw her on the train," he replied. "So, unless you haven't talked to her at all, this year...

"I haven't really talked to anyone so far, this year."

"I talked to her yesterday before my detention," Iva said quickly, "She was not so happy with me,"

Iva cracked a small grin,then punched Damian's arm lightly. "I am a bad first conversation person. I bet you wish J.J. or some one else was here,"

Damian weakly returned her grin. "Not really," he shrugged. "They'd be too... empathetic. The'd act like they understand, but I don't think they really would, y'know?

"You're pretty cool, though. I mean, you can hold off against two opponents. That's pretty cool."

Iva sighed and shook her head. "No will ever understand Damian. Not truly anyway, so I am not going to pretend I do. I will just sit and listen if you want me too.

Iva blushed at the fact he said she was "cool", mumbling a thank you. "I played 'dirty' rugby with my older brothers. I sort of had to learn quickly,"

"Thanks," Damian murmured quietly, studying the swelling of his hand.

"That'd be fun," he said with a small smile. "I used to wish I had brothers..." Damian sighed. Now, all he wished was that he had his sister back. Using his left hand, he pushed himself up off the floor. He started to offer it to Iva, then thought better of it.

"Guess I should go get this fix up," he remarked, referring to his hand. "You hurt anywhere?"

Iva pushed herself off of the floor, then dusted off her hands.

"Brother are fun-" She sighed, "When are not trying to tackle me. I would rather have a sis-"

Iva paused. "Sorry, I got carried away."

She awkwardly gestured to her lip, changing the conversation. "Only my lip and a few deep bruises,"

Damian shrugged it off. "It's alright," he murmured.

The boy examined the girl's split lip with a serious nod. It was a very respectable injury, in his estimation.

"Well, I'm going to the hospital wing," he said. "You should probably come, too. Girls shouldn't have scars and stuff, especially on their faces." Damian started towards the door.

Iva shook her head, following him. Girls shouldn't have scars? Iva almost snorted at the thought; she wasn't a doll, she'd scar of she wanted to!

"I am just going to go to my commonroom," she responded, "Take a bath and things,"

She hurried to be beside him. "Look, I know you and I are not friends, persay," she looked away, "But, if you wish to talk- Come to me, okay?"

"Suit yourself," Damian replied.

The boy regarded her solemnly, then gave a small smile - small, but genuine. "Okay," he said. "Thanks."

"See you...whenever," Iva threw her cloak on and gave him a thumbs up before walking out of the room.
