Raining Garments

It was raining clothing from the North Tower, colorful pieces of fabric fluttering down from one of the windows. There was a momentary pause between showers, as the one responsible for them had to gather up another armful of clothing to pitch out said window.

Needless to say, it was a rather odd sight, indeed.

Asric was on his way back into the castle after a long run when a shirt landed on his head. "What the..." He muttered to himself as he glanced up to spot yet more close being thrown towards him. He too a step back to look for the window it was coming from and spotted Sophias office. Within seconds he had apparated to outside her office door.

"Sophia?" He said giving the door a little knock before opening it. "Why is it raining clothes?" He asked moving over to take the clothes from her.

Sophia jerked the armful of clothes from Asric's reached and pitched them out with the others.

"Coz naethin' fits, anymair," the woman snapped, "so, what's th' use ay keepin' them? Hmm?" She moved back towards her closet. Her purpose for being in 'her' quarters that day was actually to move anything she needed over to Ric's. Instead, it was raining clothing, and Sophia was feeling rather tetchy.

He took Sophia by the arms and turned her to look at him. "Love you're pregnant, they aren't meant to fit but once you've had the baby you'll be back in them in no time." He smiled kissing her on the forehead. "It's all a part of the process so stop worrying about it okay?" He said placing a hand on her cheek.

Sophia's brown eyes narrowed into a glare. "That's right!" she growled, slapping him rather hard on the chest. "It's yer fault nane ay mah clothes fit an' mah back is sore an' I've got a bloody headache! I've half a min' tae toss ye out, as we-"

She broke off, blinking in surprise. Pulling away from him, she went over to the window and peered out. Slowly, she stepped back again, turning back towards him.

"Three-quarters of mah wardrobe are on th' grounds an' lower roofs of the castle," she stated, ducking her head sheepishly. The corners of her mouth twitched, and then she laughed. "Well, if the children didnae think of me as the mad woman of the tower before, they certainly have just cause for it, now.

"Merlin, Ric, I'm sorry," Sophia said. "I donna mean tae be so mental. Really, I don't."

He looked like she had just slapped him in the face. "I hate seeing you like this Sophia, do you not think for one second that i would trade places with you if i could? I don't like to see you hurting, but this is the one thing i can't save you from. Not anymore." He said hoping she understood.

"Just get some sleep and ill take of that. All your clothes will be back once you wake up, promise." He said kissing her on the forehead again.

"It's alright love, just get your head down at least until your headache goes." He said pulling back the covers and leading her to the bed.

"Och, I know," Sophia said. "I do. It's not so bad - it's mostly wonderful. I jist... I'm putting this down tae hormones. I'm allowed tae do that, y'know." She grinned impishly at him. Though she allowed herself to be steered toward the bed, she only sat, tugging on Ric's arm to get him to sit beside her.

"I don't want tae nap," she said a bit petulantly. She pressed a kiss to his cheek. "If I sleep, now, I willnae sleep later."

Sophia laid her head on his shoulder and groaned. "I miss headache draughts!" There were some headache remedies that pregnant woman could take, of course, but Sophia refused to take any unnecessary potions. She tucked one of her hands into his.

"I love you, y'know, Ric. You're my ain true love."

He chuckled. "I know you are." He smiled brushing her hair back from her face so he could admire the beauty that had won his heart. He moved and sat down beside her just as she wished. "I wish i could sleep now, i feel like i haven't slept in days." He said with a soft smile. "Okay but no going through your clothes and throwing them out the window okay? You need to start taking it easy, its not good for either of you if your strain yourself." He said flicking his wand so all the remaining clothes in her room hung themselves up.


He wrapped an arm around her shoulder and rested his cheek on the top of her head. "You having headaches again?" He asked. "Would you like me to get you a few potions or something?" He asked because he truly didn't know what she needed to make it stop, he was still new to all this stuff. He had been trained to accept the illness and/or pain and fight it off without the help of potions.

He smiled and kissed her head. "I love you too, i love you so much it hurts to be away for too long." He said breathing in her familiar scent, it always calmed him down and made him relax.

Sophia smiled warmly as Ric brushed the hair back from her face. She loved all the little things like that which he did to show his affection. It was just one of the many reasons she had to love him.

A frown pulled at her lips. "I haven't been keep you awake, have I?" she asked. Sophia was not always the most restful in sleep. She was already prone to nightmares - though, Ric's presence seemed to alleviate them quite notably - but, as with the previous year, the pending school year seemed to have brought on nameless terrors that jerked her awake several times a night.

"Whatever are yeh talking about?" Sophia questioned innocently. "I wasnae going through them, at all - I was jist tossing them." Smiling once more, she traced her fingers across his brow. "You fret too much," she told him. "Th' most strenuous thing I do is walk up an' down stairs. A bit of exercise never hurt anythin'. I'm not about tae jist sit around for the next several months."

She snuggled against his side and shook her head. "No. I don't like th' idea of taking anythin' I don't need while I'm pregnant," she said. "It'll pass. Being with you already makes me feel better."

Smiling herself, Sophia placed a kiss on Asric's lips. "Then, it'd be best not tae go too far," she stated. "I would not have yeh in unnecessary pain."

He shook his head. "No, i've always had trouble with my sleep. Mainly before my sleeping patterns are non-existant." He smiled, he'd had a busy and hectic life so it was understandable that he couldn't sleep. He was always up late training and then up early for more training, sleep was always pulled off for later.

"Going through them, tossing them, they both require you to lift things which you shouldn't do in your condition. Let me do all that okay? I am the man of the house, its my job to do all the heavy lifting and looking after you. Without that i have no need for my manhood." He said running his hand through his hair. "Im just trying to look after the two i love the most." He said kissing her on the lips before moving to kiss her stomach. "I know, i know exercise is important but lifting things is not exercise." He said throwing himself back on the bed so he was laid down with his head on the pillow. "Im not expecting you too love, im not exactly one to pin down either so i wouldn't try to do that to you."

He smiled and began running his fingers through her hair. "Okay, i'll always be here if you need me. Just send Pan and ill be here within seconds okay. For whatever reason, nothing is too small a reason okay?" He said, he was willing to drop his work to be by her side when she needed him.

He smiled. "We don't have to worry about that from now on. Im all yours."

"So, I feel the need to throw out my clothes, again, ye'll be doin' it for me?" Sophia teased. She gave a soft sigh. "I know. I do. I behave myself, Ric."

Her own fingers drew little circles along his collar bone as he ran his through her hair. "Ah, but however did I get such a perfect man?" she said. "Clearly, I must have woven some sort of spell over him. Or perhaps, this is even yet a dream. In which case, I hope that I never wake." She propped herself up on one elbow to gaze lovingly down at him.

"Let me slumber forever, Ric," she declared, "so long as I get to be with you."

He smiled. "If i must i will just have my apprentices at the bottom collecting them all so i can hang them back up later on." He joked, he probably would do it if she asked, it was going to be hard not to give her whatever she wanted. He now lived to make her happy. He took her hand in his and brought it to his lips. "That is all i ask."

"Then i wish for this spell to never end. My heart belongs to you and you alone now." He said pulling out a heart shaped necklace and sowing her it. He brought the heart to his lips and kissed it making it glow a bright blue for a few seconds. "Now a part of me will always be with you, should you ever need or just want me just think of me and ill be there." He said unclasping the necklace to put it on her.

He smiled. "I shall join you but first there is something i must do. Promise me you will join me tonight for a midnight snack by the lake." He said getting to his feet. "I have something i need to do, im just not sure how well it is going to go down."

Sophia fingered the small heart reverently. "It's lovely, Ric. I shall keep it forever," she said. "Thank you."

She sat up on the edge of the bed. "I shall meet you there, my love. Just..." Sophia stood herself, taking one of his hands in her own. "Whatever ye're off tae do, be careful. If anythin' happened tae you... You will be careful, won't you?" Her brown eyes gazed beseechingly into his.
