Lesson One - First Years. Empty Lesson One - First Years.

Post by Andria Fallen Tue Nov 29, 2011 8:15 am

Andria entered the familiar classroom and the breeze of excitement and joy overwhelming her. She paced around the silent and empty room and waited for her new set of first years to arrive. Surely, she had planned the lessons beforehand and now is the time to discuss the. A part she does look forward to. She hoped that these students are as good as the past year since she hadn't really known this group.

She sighed and walked back towards her table, scratching some notes on her composition notebook patiently while she waited for her students to show up.

Xanin Pool slowly entered the classroom with his wand sheathed at his wrist. He was carrying over his shoulder a book bag he bought that was charmed to be bottomless and to instantly bring forth anything that he required. Inside said bag were his school books, His wooden sword, and an actual sword though it had never been used outside of training. "Hello Professor" He said quietly as he took a seat in the front row.

Thank Merlin he had set his alarm clock last night, else he'd have to explain to his head of house why he was late or something and he'd really rather not do so on his first day at school. Aldan hefted his bookbag and entered the classroom, one hand hidden in his robe pocket.

"Morning Professor Fallen," he said with a cheeky smile on his face, his own little trademark, and he took a random seat, not looking at where he was. He'd noticed one other kid in here with him so at least he hadn't been the first one in.

Dueling. This should be fun. Walking into the classroom, the blackette glanced around the room to find that other than the professor, she was the only female in the room. Shrugging, she sat down at the second row, and smiled up at the professor. With a start, she recognized her as one of the members of Protectores Mundi. Happy to see someone she recognized, and could go to if she found someone who seemed worthy of joining their organization, she smiled, "Good morning Professor."

Andria smiled at her students gently and greeted them with a nod. She was glad that they showed up. Her new first years are somewhat motivated through what she observed. And yet, she do liked them even now. As if she hated someone in her life. She was more determined as ever to teach them.

Glancing around the room, she saw a girl from the Order. Andria though of her as a skilled student. And more deserving to attend her subject. Perhaps, her lessons will help the Gryffindor with her progress in the Order.

Xanin leaned back in his chair as he dug through his bag. His deep brown eyes closed in concentration. thinking he had what he needed he pulled out the item halfway then quickly shoved it back in. He mumbled to himself. "I wanted a notebook not a sword" He said queitly as he went back in until he found the notebook and set it down on his desk

    Late.
Storm was incredibly annoyed at herself. Trying not to draw a lot of attention to herself, she slunk in, prying she wasn't very late.
    "Hello Professor," she sighed.

Andria nodded a welcoming gesture to the newcomer and decided to talk about the lesson already since the students are piled up in the room. Satisfied and happy with the number she got, she began the lesson with excitement on her first years.

"I know all of you know this two spells I have prepared. And they are quite too easy for you. But for the fact, we must start it off from the very beginning. The basics. And I still have to ask what these spells do in a Duel. Expelliarmus and Protego. Who can tell me what they do?"

Xanin remained quiet as he listened. No longer digging into his bag but listening silently. Watching curiously as he sat there by himself. True he already knew the two spells that she was talking about since they were the first to combat and defensive spells a person probably learns. He didn't see any point in flaunting his knowlage yet though

Dimitri ran to the Dueling Classroom and then entered completely casually, apologizing to the professor if he's being late.

Andria smiled at the Gryffindor who recited and nodded approvingly,

"Yes. Ten points for that Miss Everlee. Thank you for the answer."

She turned her gaze at the latecomer and said to him kindly, a welcoming gesture she would always portray to every student,

"Pleasure for you to join us lad. Please take a seat. Good heavens you showed up and did not forget. We're just starting the lesson. Lucky for you we need more number."

She looked around at all her students and gave out the usual instructions about the activity,

"Since you already know the two spells very well. Now partner up and practice. Too easy I guess? One can be the attacker and another would be the defender. Switch places once you're finished and we'll take most of the time right there. Ready?"

The woman asked with a raised eyebrow and drew her wand out, waving it smoothly as the chairs moved to the sides to make some space in the center of the room.

"Stupid, stupid, stupid!" Isabel chastised herself under her breath, running at top speed towards the Charms classroom. She was absolutely furious at herself. So far, she had been late to almost all of her classes. Quickly, Isabel went into the room, but stopped dead in her tracks. The professor was already teaching the students, and she was going to be behind! Merlin!
"I'm so sorry, Professor," she whispered, looking at the floor. Completely mortified, she slunk into a seat, cursing her very existence and DNA. Why? Why was she so late all the time?

"Choose your partner, lass. We will just start with the Dueling activity. Expelliarmus and Protego. Too easy? Now go ahead and don't let that guilt overwhelm you. Remember, don't be angry at yourself for making a mistake. We learn from that mistake."

Andria said with a smile once she welcomed the Ravenclaw in her class. She wanted everyone to feel comfortable as necessary. As though they were just having fun with the lesson that they wouldn't even notice that this was a class after all. Treating them like a family was her duty as a professor and Head of House.

Aldan shrugged and stood up as the desks moved around to accomodate their practice. He walked up to one of the dudes --having been surrounded by chicks nearly all day-- and grinned lazily, his hands in his pocket.

"Defender or Attacker?" he questioned with a shrug, not knowing which position he'd really go for first.

"Yes Professor," Isabel said, smiling at the kindness the professor showed, but still incredibly nervous and tense. All the other girls in the room looked nice, and Isabel decided that she should ask someone, instead of waiting and ending up with the last person available.
"Do you want to be partners?" she asked a girl she had heard the professor address as Savannah.

Looking up at the girl who was talking to her (Isabel, was that her name?) she shrugged, glancing around the room before returning her blue eyes to her. It didn't seem like she was going to get any other offers, so why not accept this one? Smiling at her, though the authenticity of it could be debated, she said, "Sure."

Shrugging, she picked her wand off of her desk, standing up to face Isabel, "It doesn't matter to me which one I am." Taking a few steps backwards, she returned her gaze to the Ravenclaw, wand pointed at her, "Ready?"

"Alright then." Nodding curtly, Savannah eyed her for a moment, before taking a deep breath and pointing her wand at Isabel, "Expelliarmus."

((You're not stupid. I took fourteen days to reply. That's late. Six days is nothing compared to that.))
