Lesson 1 (First years)

Lenora was glad to be back at Hogwarts. She walked into her classroom ready for the day. She took a seat at her desk and waited for the students to come in.

Bridget walked into class with a smile on her face. It was her first time at Hogwarts and she was ready to learn. "Hello professor Malfoy" Bridget smiled. Bridget took a seat at the front and waited for class to begin.

Clutching her books, she headed into class, her dark hair billowing out behind her. Adjusting her red tie, she headed inside the charms classroom. Smiling at the teacher, she promptly sat down at one of the desks near the middle, making sure that it would be difficult for the Hufflepuff to start a conversation with her. Flipping through her charms book, she waited for the class to begin. "Hello Professor. I hope you're enjoying the day so far."

Kirsten tiptoed quietly into the Charms classroom and smiled a greeting. "Hello," she said, somewhat nervously, catching the Proffessors eye for a brief moment.

She walked swiflty to the front of the classroom and took a seat next to the Hufflepuff girl. She smiled and mouthed a 'hello' before setting about organizing her books onto her desk.

Bridget smiled at the Ravenclaw girl. "Hello i'm Bridget, Bridget Wells and you are" asked Bridget trying to make conversation.

"It's nice to meet you, Bridget," Kirsten said kindly, glad that she'd sat next to a nice person. "I'm Kirsten Cresswell. How are you liking Hogwarts so far?"

Lenora looked at the girls in her class. "Hello I hope you are enjoying Hogwarts so far, I'm Lenora Malfoy and I'm your charms professor. We will start class right now and if other students decide to show up then wonderful. Can anyone tell me what the spell Wingardium Leviosa does" Lenora asked her students.

Kirsten's hand shot up straight away. With a nod from the Proffessor, she answered, "Wingardium Leviosa is used to levitate objects."

Sitting back, Savannah smiled up at Professor Malfoy as she introduced herself. Glancing over at the girl who'd answered, her smile slipped. It was the girl from the train! Hoping she wouldn't see her, she vowed to spend the majority of the class as silent as possible.

Azrali stepped into the classroom and heard some voices. She glanced to the area where two girls sat then turned her gaze to the Professor.

"G'Morning Professor Malfoy." She greeted. She glanced down at her watch, she wasn't late, but she wasn't early. Is this all the class held?

"Excellent Kristen 15 points to Ravenclaw. Now I'm going to hand everyone a feather and i want you to use the spell on it" Lenora nodded. She got out her wand and had it pointed at a feather. "You have to swish and flick and say Wing-ar-dium Le-vio-sa" the feather floated into the air and Lenora let it go back on the table. She grabbed feathers and gave one to every student. "You try" said Lenora.

Az bit her lip as she held her wand firmly, she wasn't ery good at spells. She sighed, "Wingardium Laviosa" She muttered strongly swishing her wand. The feather twitched slightly but whatever life it had, died. She glared at it, "Wingardium Laviosa!" She commanded again, swishing her wand and flicking it. It teetered again before stopping. "Merlin, what is this?!" She growled to herself, "Stupid feather."

Savannah stared down at the feather on her desk for a moment. It didn't seem like it would be that hard to lift it. All she had to do was - what was it? Swish and flick? Picking up her wand, she did just that, "Wingardium Leviosa,"

And much to her surprise, her feather didn't. Budge. Glaring at it with her blue eyes, she tried again, and this time it moved about an inch in the air before falling back onto the table. Grinning, Savannah glanced around the classroom, happy with being the first to make the spell work.

Kirsten beamed with happiness as she was awarded 15 points to her house. She smiled, and listened intently as Proffessor Malfoy then instructed her students to try the spell for themselves!

She gulped and nervously took a hold of her wand. This would be the very first spell she would ever cast. Here goes she thought ...

Staring down at the feather before her, she glared at it determinedly, gripped her wand harder, and said, just as the Proffessor had instructed, "Wing-ar-dium Le-vio-sa!" accompanied with a nervous little swish and flick.

The feather gave a pathetic half-twitch, but other than that, the results from this first spell were minimal. It could have just been a light breeze blowing through the classroom that had made her feather move for all Kirsten knew. Great.

Isabel rushed through the halls, gasping for breath and furious at herself. It seems like she was being late for all her classes! She grabbed the door handle and wrenched it open, immediately lurching herself into the classroom.
"Hello Professor," she greeted weakly, and she took a seat next to a Ravenclaw girl.

"Oh, 'lo," Kirsten said when Isabel arrived. The same girl from Astronomy, Charms, Flying and many of her other classes, if Kirsten wasn't mistaken. She was thankful that the late arrival would be cause for the focus now, rather than her own embarrassing failure of what she'd read to be a fairly simple charm.

She blushed when she glowered down at the feather once more, and said to Isabel, "We just tried Wingardium Leviosa ... it didn't go so well ..." she clarified, wondering if she should dare risk embarrasment once more by attempting the spell again.

Isabel smiled and nodded at the girl she saw so much of.
"Wingardium Leviosa,"said Isabel, and the feather twitched feebly. "Wingardium Leviosa!" She commanded, and the feather did a little wave thing before settling back on the desk. "Wingardium LEVIOSA!" The feather rose up off of the desk, and Isabel's face broke into a wide smile. For once, she was doing good!

Azrali glared at the feather, putting her chin on the desk and staring at it. She sighed, sat back up and held oher wand out once again. "Wingardium Leviosa!" She commanded, it floated p neatly, following the waver of her wand. She smiled proudly, "I did it!" She gasped. She giggled, "Wicked!"

Bridget watched everyone else have there feathers in the air. Bridget grabbed her wand and focused. "Wingardium Leviosa" nothing happened. Bridget sighed and decided to try again. "Wingardium Leviosa" she said more clearly. Bridget watched it float into the air. She smiled that she got it right after 2 tries. Bridget brung it back down to the table and waited for further instructions.
