Lesson One (First Years)

Sapphire was sat at her desk with her feet on the table. She wasn't wearing any shoes and was wearing long robes that were lined with gold. She was known for been a bit eccentric as a teacher, but she got her job done.

Clutching her books, she headed into class, her dark hair billowing out behind her as she walked calmly. Entering the room, she was more than slightly taken aback by the professor with her feet on her desk. Blinking rapidly, she pasted a smile on her face that more resembled a grimace than a true smile. "H-hello professor."

Sitting down near the back, she took her wand out of the pocket of her robes. Placing it on her desk, she proceeded to stare at it, hoping that more people would get into this class. Fast.

Kirsten had been looking forward to Transfiguration classes the most - ever since she'd gotten her Hogwarts letter she'd been avidly reading up on the subject ... well, almost as much as she'd been reading Hogwarts: A History.

Feeling a little nervous - as was expected - Kirsten swept into the room. Just breathe she told herself. Everything will be fine.

She fixed a ready smile on her face and scanned the room: the Proffessor at the desk looked laid back and she had awesome hair that Kirsten tried not too stare at too much.

There was only one other student in the classroom and Kirsten was immensely glad that she wasn't late!

"Hi!" she said, announcing her presence. She sidled into a seat towards the front left of the classroom and set about preparing for the lesson.

Bridget walked into the classroom to see 2 girls and was glad that she wasn't late. "Hello professor" Bridget took a seat close to the Ravenclaw girl. Bridget got out her stuff and turned her body so she was somewhat facing both of the girls. "Hello i'm Bridget Wells" she greeted happily.

"Hi Bridget," Kirsten greeted cheerily. "I'm Kirsten Cresswell. It's nice to meet you."

Isabel opened the door and entered the classroom nervously, and gave a thousand thanks in her head that there were three girls in the classroom, but she was not late. She quickly took a seat next to the Ravenclaw girl she had been seeing a lot in her classes, and smiled nervously. For the first time since she arrived at the castle, she spoke to someone other than a professor or the Sorting Hat.
"H-hello, I'm Isabel. Isabel Vector," she introduced herself, smiling weakly.

When another girl entered the classroom Kirsten was snapped out of the happy daydream she had slipped into as she waited for class to start.

Oh, another Ravenclaw, how wonderful! she thought. She grinned at the new student as she introduced herself - it was nice to put a name to the face after sharing so many classes - and replied, "Hey Isabel!" she said, sensing that the girl was a little nervous, she tried to sound as friendly and welcoming as possible. "I'm Kirsten. Kirsten Cresswell. How are you?"

Isabel smiled weakly at Kristen.
"I'm pretty good, I guess," she replied, thankful for someone to talk to, "How are you?"

"Really good, thanks," Kirsten grinned, twirling a stray flyaway of her blonde hair around her finger dreamily. She wondered briefly how many other students were due to arrive; she was itching to get started. But for now, at least, she had a friend - a friend? She supposed she was a friend ... - to pass the time with.

"So you're in a lot of my classes," Kirsten continued, giggling slightly, "I'll wager almost every one of them. That's pretty cool."

"Yeah, I'm taking Astronomy, Divination, Flying, Care of Magical Creatures, Herbology, Defense Against the Dark Arts, Occlumency, Potions, and Charms," listed Isabel. "It's a lot, but I really like all of them so far."

Sapphire frowned at the register seeing that there was a lot of people who hadn't arrived yet. She put a spell on her pen and it automatically marked off the names of the people who were here.

"So class, not many of us are here, but I will start the lesson any how." she said with a smile. "So for many of you this will be the first time you have learnt about transfiguration to an extreme. Maybe some of you have had an elder sibling tell you about this, so please can you tell me what you know already about this subject?" she asked.

Kirsten knew of only the very basics of Transfiguration, but she decided to hazard a guess and answer the Proffessor's question anyway. Raising her hand, she said,

"Transfiguration is a branch of magic which can be used on almost all objects. What it does is alter the form or appearance of an object through its molecular structure," she continued shyly, hoping she was on the right track with her answer, "traditionally it's separated into four branches; Transformation, Vanishment, Conjuration and Untransfiguration."

Nocturna Destler was a little late because her parent and her went at it and such thing. She had small sore on her. Her mother had written her note for her and the reason they where late because her uncle suffer a spell of falling down the stairs. Of course it was lied the note that her mother written and told a dozen of time so there would be no getting the truth out of her. She was new to this class and she would be soon joining the class.

Cecile tried to slip in silently behind another girl walking into the classroom. "Late again," she thought to herself, "Good job C, great way to start of the year."

Even though she was nervous, she could already tell that this was going to be one of her favorite classes.

Cecile found a seat near the back and took out her wand.
