That morning, Anna felt bored to the core. At the time, it was yet another free weekend with lots of homework to do for most people in her house, and maybe even in her year, but for the young Ravenclaw - who gets most of her homework done early - it was a free weekend with some homework to finish and forty-eight hours to waste. Well, not exactly forty-eight anymore, since twelve hours since midnight on Saturday had passed, and by Saturday noon Anna was hanging around all by herself in the armour room looking at all of the weaponry, since none of her friends would even bother to talk to her and her Charms and Transfiguration essays were all polished and ready to go.
The weapon that attracted her the most, was, of course, the ruby encrusted dagger just a few feet from her fingers. Ever since that night at the Headquarters, Anna had developed a sort of... affection for daggers. She wanted her father to get one for her birthday the summer before her third year before he and her mother got remarried, but of course, he politely declined. And by politely, she meant that he grounded her for a week after that which meant she couldn't go out of her room unless it was for meals (which he unfairly rationed to about her size of her fist), which was just as well because Anna hated her father to bits, though she did quite admire him for his honesty and bravery towards her sometimes.
After making sure nobody was around, Anna took the ruby encrusted dagger in her hand. It felt, to her, like she was touching gold. It felt like a precious gem she had unearthed from the bottom of the earth. Anna knew that it wasn't exactly a gem, but it was close enough to be one. Instead of throwing it against the wall like normal people would - though it would probably cost her more than just a detention - Anna decided to pretend to cut someone to pieces with that dagger. With an amused yet angry expression on her face, she pretended to cut someone to pieces with the dagger. "Hai-ya!" she chanted, in time to when she slashed the dagger through the air...
... and close to somebody's face.
