Just a Feeling (Karma and Rhys)

Rhys had woken up in the middle of the night with one thing on his mind.

She's hungry.

He didn't know how, but he knew Karma was looking for him.

"M'ybe I w's wr'ng," He muttered in that troublesome accent. He sat on the table, thinking about what he could tell Karma in exchange for a bite. Maybe the names of all the members. Except Ty, of course. He owed Tyler.

He stood up, about to leave. It was too late for this.

Karma was sitting in the kitchen, poking her rare steak with a finger, thinking about how nice it would be to have some fresh blood. Ever since she'd drank off that Rhys kid, she'd become less and less attached to human food. On the other hand, she felt much better after the whole lightning-now-frozen-lake thing.

Nightmare was now eating her steak, but Karma didn't mind. She pet the little panther and sighed. Now would be a good time to have my Fang Banger magically appear out of nowhere...

Rhys opened the door to the kitchen, then stared in awe at Karma.

"You...call'd?" He mumbled, stepping towards her. Sleep was in his eyes, robbing his mind of its insanity. It was too late for that. Instead, he adjusted the neck of his shirt to show the crook of his neck.

"Here," He grunted, "T'ke 't,"

Karma looked at him, a little shocked that all she had to do is be hungry and her Drudge would appear. She hid it instantly though, instead standing, and brushing her fingers along where she'd last bit him, pleased to see that he was devoid of all or any bite marks.

"Do you feel any stronger?" She questioned, the late hour making her feel a bit... off. "Would you like to sit down when I... I mean..." She looked away from him, searching for something to say. She hadn't actually wanted him there. She'd thought it would have been nice, yeah, but she hadn't expected...

She kept her gaze on on the house elves already closing and locking the kitchen door and nodding to her. She gulped, taking a deep breath through her nose and letting the smells and sensations of the kitchen wash over her. She looked at him again. "How would you like it?" She asked finally.

"I'm perfectly strong," Rhys grunted, done with her stammering. He wrapped his hands around her waist and picked her up before carrying her over to a table. Placing her on the table top, Rhys placed his own face in the crook of her neck. His hands were strating to shae; this was the first time he realized how badly her needed this.

"Hard," He breathed. Hard, like it was a punishment.

Karma didn't bother struggling when he picked her up and placed her on the table. She froze when he moved his mouth to her neck, shivering when she could feel his breath on her shoulder. "Rhys..."

He asked for it, so she bit down on the juncture of his shoulder and neck, the blood rushing into her mouth, making her moan. She had been so hungry. As before, the endorphins from her saliva rushed into Rhy's blood stream, double the pleasure for him because Karma was also pleased.

Rhys brought her closer to him, his shakes dying down. His breath became labored and hard as a single trickle of blood tickled its way down his chest. Instead of a normal reaction, Rhys found himself whimpering and overcome with an emotion.

A freaking emotion.

"I h-hate you," He growled into her neck.

He hated her? A little hurt, though he had no reason to feel any other way, Karma bit down harder in response, her punishment instead adding even more endorphins to his system, increasing his pleasure ten fold.

After what seemed like both an extremely long time and the shortest second in the world, Karma pulled away, licking the bite wounds so they'd heal. Then, she just laid there, basking in finally being full for the first time in a while. She grinned lazily and kissed his neck. "You don't have to like me, Rhys. You just have to be here." The half-truth worked because it said nothing of her reaction to his words, and was mostly true anyway.

She hummed contentedly, a song by a muggle band that she really liked. It was Feel Good Inc, because she really did feel good. She felt great.

Rhys later looked back on ways to describe how wonderfully evil this felt- how close to death and life this was- but found he couldn't.

It was so real, everything paled in comparison.

Rhys leaned back on the table, yawning as the late hour finally hit him. The muscle in his shoulder still throbbed with that glorious pain, but he didn't let her see it.

"No, you don't understand," His voice shook with an almost sick sound. "I hate you. Stop touching me,"

He didn't push her away when he touched him though. He caressed her.

Karma hummed, her mind still on the song and the finally full and powerful feeling coursing through her. She reached for him, her fingers stopping just as he said not to touch him. She was confused. If he didn't want her to... then why did...?

She looked away, scooting away from him as to put distance between them. She watched as a House Elf put down a plate of Milk Chocolate Brownies between them. She reached for one, her posture and eyes sad.

She licked the blood off her lips slowly, as to not waste a drop, savoring all of it.

Rhys looked at her and frowned. His usual sense of no emotions had failed him at this moment, watching her like that. A stab of pain enter his heart just seeing her like that,

"Oy," He growled, moving closer to her and grabbing her jaw roughly, then realized that was the wrong way to go about this. Instead, he traced soft patterns into her neck. " Oy, don't make that face. Ever. I was kidding, sweets,"

Then he took her jaw ever so carefully and placed a far for innocent kiss on her lips. He bit her own lip, tasting a charming mixture of brownie, his blood and hers.

Karma looked at him confused as he roughly grabbed her jaw, a protest coming to her lips before he could speak. Listening to him though, Karma's eyes softened, taking in his apology as he caressed the back of her neck, his random mood swings starting to grow on her. She had no illusions though, her Drudge was a Fang Banger, and completely insane.

He was... he was kidding...?

He bit her.

It wasn't as bad as she thought it would have been, if she'd thought it at all. Karma wrapped her arms around his neck, pulling him closer, suddenly not able to get enough. She wanted him. She wanted him to be hers. So she fought for domance. She fought because she knew she'd win. The only one who had kissed her like this had been...

Ethon.

With a gasp, Karma changed her hold on him so she was holding his shoulders and held him at an arms length. "Bloody Hell." She cursed. She'd forgotten about Ethon THAT quickly?! If she kept on doing this people would think she was easy like Evie!

"Don't... Don't do that." Karma said, shivering. She didn't look at him, instead keeping her focus on the plate of Brownies. The taste of them on his lips was...

She shivered again. She did not need to be thinking that.

It was great.
It really was. Everything about that kiss was amazing, until she broke away. The spell over him was broken for a moment and the emotions died down, but he still wanted...more.

"Don't?" Rhys voice was a purr. He took Karma's arm and twisted it softly so he could bring himself closer to her. Seeing her eyes on the plate, he took a bite of a brownie, chewing slowly to catch her attention. " That kiss sure didn't say you didn't want me,"

Rather forcefully, he pushed his mouth on hers again, almost pushing her against the table.

"Don't deny me, Karma," He growled into her mouth, "You may be the vampire, but I'm in control now,"

The game began.

Karma was trying to remember something. Something probably like a face or a name or a...

She tried to ignore him when he pulled her closer, but her eyes followed his hand and he picked up the brownie and raised it to his mouth. She was transfixed as he bit into it, her eyelids drooping. She did love brownies...

This is why he found it so easy to force her. There was no resistance. There was nothing in her mind stopping her, not even her other conscience.

Karma let him kiss her, kissing back again, her restraining grip disappearing as she pulled him closer. She just couldn't... she couldn't... think.

Rhys pulled away from Karma softly, a wolfish smile on his face. He stood up and whiped the dust from his clothes as if nothing ever happened.

"Well, I'm going to bed now," He gave a yawn," 'Tis late, you know."

He was just playing with her now. This was all just a game he wanted to play and she had become the pawn.

"See you later, sugar,"

Karma felt him go, letting the kiss linger before backing up herself. His smile made her feel absolutely devilish. She watched him with a naughty grin as she smoothed down her shirt. "You're going to bed?" She purred. It wasn't exactly an invitation, but it sounded like one.

She hopped off the table, her bare feet touching the ground silently. "Well, in that case, I'll see you around." She headed for the door. "Have a good sleep, Rhys." She walked past him, glancing over her shoulder.

"And don't call me Sugar." She said with a wink, letting the door close behind her.

Karma held no illusions. She didn't know if it was the Endorphins or the Bloodloss or the fact that Rhys was a total Psychopath, but he liked her. Somehow, he did. He did not love her, he said he hated her, but he liked her. That is why pulling that fake-old sad face made him react that way. That's why he'd kissed her to cheer her up. That's why he tried to force himself on her. Because he wanted control.

She'd let him think he had control for now, but next time... Next time he'd get a real lesson on who's the boss.

Karma yawned and grinned as Nightmare stepped out of the shadows in order to jump into her arms. She caught the cat with ease of course. "What do you think of it, Nightmare?"

The cat yawned and grumbled an answer, before falling a sleep in her arms.

With an amused chuckle, Karma disappeared into the Slytherin Common Room, going all the way to her Dormitory.
