Out for a walk (Open)

Jamie was walking in the courtyard. She wanted to get away from school and her mother right now. Jamie and her mother used to be so close and now Jamie is just annoyed. Jamie loved her mom but she just couldn't stand her life right now. Jamie sighed and took a seat on the ground.

J. J. walked about the grounds loving the way the winter snow settled on everything and ignoring the cold wind it brought. There was just something so... freeing about being outside.

As she walked across the courtyard in front of the clock tower she noticed someone sitting below it. Upon closer examination she realized she knew this girl.

"Hello Jamie," she said as she approached her; her eyebrows furrowed in her usual concern for others, "Are you alright?"

Jamie heard someone say her name and she looked up to see J.J. Jamie shook her head. "No I'm not, thanks for asking though" Jamie gave a small smile. "Want to sit down" Jamie asked pointing to the empty seat next to her.

J. J. shrugged and sat down.

"That's too bad. Do you wish to talk about it? Or... we could talk about something else, get your mind off it if that's what you'd prefer."

Jamie was debating weather she wanted to talk about it or not. She decided she should. "We can talk about it" Jamie shrugged.

"It's just that I used to get along with my mother all time, we were happy with everything, but my mom and I grew apart after something happened. She tried to get it out of me but I wouldn't budge and I told her she was the worst mother ever because she couldn't tell what happened to me, I mean she is suppose to be my mother she is suppose to no everything about me" Jamie let a few tears fall and quickly wiped them away.

J. J. listened silently as the girl spoke, trying to keep her face as nutral as possible for she didn't want any reaction to upset the girl further.

"Oh, Don't cry," she said immediatly impulisivly putting an arm around the girl even though honestly they had never been much more than classmates.

J. J. paused for a long moment trying to think of something to say.

"Well... I don't know much about these things but I feel as if, maybe... your mother isn't a mind reader. She can't know every little detail, but... she did know you well enough to realize something was wrong didn't she? And she cared enough to want to find out."

Jamie looked at J.J. "I no but she didn't no that I was upset about what I'm upset about until she saw me throwing things around and asked me what was wrong. She didn't no something was wrong until a month after" Jamie sighed and wiped away a few more tears. Jamie sighed. "When I was growing up my father always said Malfoy's never should show emotion unless it's anger, but right now I don't care" Jamie smiled a little bit. Jamie had a question for J.J.

"If you knew what was going on with me, how would you react to it" Jamie asked curious of her answer.

J. J. shrugged, "Well you can see it how you will. I don't know anything about it... though I do know I'd give anything to be close to my mom again." And J. J. didn't think there was anything that she could give to make it so.

"Well... I don' t know Jamie. I can't say anything unless I know, which I don't."

Jamie took a deep breath and looked at J.J. "Well J.J I-I-I-I was almost" Jamie sighed and looked away because it was to hard. "I was almost raped, he held a knife to my throat and threatened me and in order to get him off me I used magic but the Minister of Magic let it slid just this once" Jamie had more tears in her eyes.

Jamie looked at J.J. "Please don't tell" Jamie was close to begging.

J. J. felt cold at the announcement for a long moment, and it was a cold that had nothing to do with the outside temperature.

"Jamie that's- that's-that's," she stuttered for a moment everything she thought about saying sounding completely inadquete. Really she wasn't cut out for these kinds of admissions. She was just a kid who was wondering if she actually had a relationship with a boy, and angsting over her family possibly hating her. She had no real claims or knowledge to say anything to something like this.

And yet how could she remain silent? That was just as bad.

"I'm so sorry Jamie."

Jamie looked at J.J and watched as J.J tried to process what she just said. When J.J finally said something Jamie looked at her. "Please don't tell J.J" Jamie begged.

J. J. immedately shook her head.

"No-no, I mean I wouldn't..." she paused for a moment and took a deep breath, "I won't tell. I promise."

It wasn't her secret to tell, but she couldn't help but think that it was one hell of a secret for a girl her age to bare.

"Have you... I mean does anyone else know?"

Jamie sighed with relief when J.J promised not to tell. Then J.J asked another question. "No, my sister Katerina asked me what was wrong but I never told her anything, she is too young to no this" Jamie said looking at J.J.

J. J. nodded thinking that she may be too young for this too, but didn't say anything.

"Maybe you should... I don't know, tell someone older. Someone who can actually help... or something." She sure didn't know what to do with any of this.

Jamie nodded, but then J.J suggested something. "You mean my mom, don't you" Jamie looked at J.J waiting for her to answer.

J. J. shrugged, "Well... maybe your Mom, but if you don't feel like telling her just... anyone, that could help. "

Jamie thought about it. "Like who" Jamie asked looking curiously at J.J for any helpful suggestions.
