Biding Time

Liliana sat at the edge of the lake, just staring across it. She found herself bored out of her mind, and longing for summer vacation when she could go to some random village and go muggle hunting. She sighed, and leaned back against a tree beside her, scooting back slightly so as to be entirely in it's shade.

Tesla was somewhere she wasn't supposed to be, like always, and smiled at the idea of her friends doing their homeworks, something she decided to leave for later. She went to the lake, a place which soothed her, made her peaceful and relaxed.

Someone was already there, sitting beside a tree, a girl, Slytherin by the looks. "Mind if I join you?", she asked, frowning. I'm spending too much time with Slytherins, she thought and frowned even more.

Liliana looked up, and wrinkled her nose when she realized the girl asking permission was a gryffindor. "Yes." She answered honestly before returning her gaze to the lake, expecting the other girl to go away.

"Seriously?", she asked, her forehead now becoming white from the intense frowning. "And I was all nice to you, I could have just sat there and ignored you, but no, I chose to be nice, when in fact I wanted to be bitchy", she started, more to herself than to the Slytherin girl. "Well, do you think I'm gonna go just like that. Hell no?"

Bitch, a thought came to her, as Tesla took a spot near the lake, pretending she doesn't notice her anymore.

Liliana glared at the girl when she completely ignored her and sat down. Her hand itched for her wand, and she complied, putting her hand ein her robe and gripping the handle. However, she restrained from pulling it out...yet. "I thought I told you NOT to join me." She spat out furiously, pretending as though she hadn't already heard the Gryffindor's small rant.

"I'm not joining you. This is not your lake and I sat like a mile away from you so shut up", she told her, not bothering to turn around and look at her. "I was here a year longer than you, so it's more my lake than yours." Tesla was about to loose her temper and could barely control the burst of her emotions.

Liliana glared, though she acknowledged that she had a point about the distance. However, that only made her more irritated, along with the insulting "shut up" and comment on being older than her. "And why should I care that you're older than me?" She snapped, not seeing her point. She could still kick her butt.

"Well, actually, it has nothing to do with it, but I needed one more argument so...", she pointed out, looking at her slightly. "Still, no need to act like that. Especially if we're sitting on the opposite sides of the lake, not bothering each other. You can't make me go anywhere, maybe you can try, but I'm pretty stubborn."

Liliana rolled her eyes at the part about needing multiple arguments, but immediatly stood up at the end, feeling that she was being challenged. She gripped her wand harder, more than ready to pull it out. "You sure you want me to try?" She threatened, honestly not in the mood for a duel for once...Well, enough so that she was willing to give the Gryffindor a chance to back out.

"Seriously brat, I'm not even going to respond. I'm just that better." Tesla told her, and with those words she got up and went away.

Liliana glared at the girl, her comments biting into her, making her all the more eager to pull out her wand. However, she reminded herself of the sure detention that would be waiting for her-especially if she lost her temper (which was all to easy in a duel) and used an unforgivable curse. She sighed, and turned away from the Gryffindor's retreating back, her grip slowly loosining on her wand. She let herself slump against the tree and slowly sink back to the ground.
