Lesson 2 | All Years

Sophia sat behind her desk as she waited for her class, one hand resting lightly on her belly as the other gently stroked Magus' feathers. The raven stood contently, gaze resting with mild interest upon the gem on his mistress' ring finger.

She looked up with a welcoming smile as her students began to arrive.

Iris went to her favorite subject with high hopes of doing well this time. She did the usual dashing procedure up to the high tower and sighed with relief once she finally came inside the wide room. She smiled and took her seat with of course a first greeting to her mentor,

"Hi, professor! Magus. How are you doing today? I hope you're well."

Kirsten loved Divination. That much was no secret ... and what she loved more was arriving moderately early, so she had plently of time to flick through her well-worn textbooks.

She sighed happily as she entered the already homely Tower. "Hello," she said politely to the Proffessor.

Sweeping her gaze around the room she spotted another student, and mustering up an ounce of courage, she placed her hefty pile of books next to her and sat, offering a friendly smile. "Hello, I'm Kirsten," she said.

Charlotte walked to the seventh floor. It was quite a long way from the dungeons but she managed. She was the third student to arrive to the classroom and took a seat near the front.

"Hi! I'm Iris. Call me Eye. Nice to meet you. I haven't seen you here for a while. First time? Then welcome! We'll enjoy this class as much as I do."

Iris greeted the girl after she noticed that the Raven was talking to her. Introducing herself, actually. And she seemed really nice to be the Slytherin's friend. There's nothing more than having a lot of friends you can share the time with. And the list is starting to expand in front of her, accepting them all warmly especially the new ones.

"Hello Eye, it's nice to meet you." Kirsten said, greeting the friendly Slytherin girl. "Iris is a really pretty name," she added, "So you like Divination?"

"Why, thank you! And yes, I love Divination. Many reasons. But some would rather be classified as a tricky reason why I'm here."

Iris replied at Kristen's compliment that can actually make her day even better. Specifically right here in this subject. If ever, if she sensed that the Ravenclaw's trustworthy, then she would tell stories. If her mentor wouldn't mind. In any case, she just confessed her whole secret to only two Slytherins who became her friend last year - and not knowing what happened to them now for suddenly disappearing. Alexis and Alessa.

"Alright, ladies," Sophia said, raising from her seat and moving towards the blackboard. Magus fluttered up to her shoulder, preening her hair before watching her write with the chalk.


She turned to face her students, one hand resting lightly on her stomach. "Scrying. What is it, and what are some of the most commonly used media?"

Iris shook her hand in the air, fully knowing the definition of that term as she read that thoroughly during the boring times of the holidays. Her free time to enjoy advance study. Scrying was one thing that she considered as some exciting part of Divination.

"Scrying, also called seeing or peeping, is a magical practice as to involve seeing things psychically. For purposes of obtaining spiritual visions and rather less often on divination and fortune-telling." She recited and continued on,

"Reflective, translucent, or luminescent objects are commonly used as media such as stones like crystals, glass, mirrors, or the elements of fire, water, and smoke."
