Lesson two for third years Empty Lesson two for third years

Serenity was sitting her seat, eating some candy. Unlike some other new teachers, she wasn't nervous. If the student misbehaved, it was really simple just to give them detention. If they don't like the class, oh well.

She smiled, and wrote on the board," I am Professor Henderson and plan on staying here for a while."

"Good day Professor," Iris greeted with a grin as she entered the class, not even being surprised on seeing the new teacher. It seemed that half the teachers kept disappearing after a while. "Hope you had a good holiday!" She told and took a seat.

She smiled at the student. "I did, though I was almost jumping from the prospect of teaching my favorite subject." She laughed. "Did you have any good professor's before this?" She asked. She needed to know if her students was being taught correctly before this.

Iris sighed with an unpleasant mood as to now was another day of this very hard subject of hers. Not to mention that she was not at all looking forward for it after what happened during the last lesson with Professor Bloxam. Who is now appointed as the Herbology professor. She knew for the fact that he would do great there. But missing Professor Palinder was a little overwhelming than the excitement. Well, both of them used to give candy. So maybe that's just another thing to keep an eye on.

She walked through the corridors, taking her time since she already knew that there are very few students indeed who take up that subject. Or perhaps it's only her after Alexis, her first Slytherin friend, disappeared mysteriously. They didn't even had the time to spend some bonding together. Things are going really weird now.

The girl went inside the classroom, feeling down and started on without looking upward from her feet. She skidded to a halt once she saw the new professor and greeted the lady with a shy smile and a bow. After turning around to take a seat, she was surprised to see Grayson there. Finally. Some company.

She smiled at the young girl. "What is your name?" She asked. She started putting away the rest of her chocolate bar. It was kind of mean to eat candy in front of your students.

"Yup, our previous Professor was pretty awesome." Iris replied with a grin. "You know, that's what all teachers say before they disappear suddenly," she commented, pointing to what the Professor wrote on the board. Even though she was being blunt, she didn't mean to disrespect the teacher in any way.

She turned around and waved at her friend, motioning her to come sit next to her. "Hey Eye!"

Iris waved and smiled at the professor then started on with her answer - her usual introduction,

"I'm also Iris, professor. But they call me Eye. And I call her by the last name." she said with a soft laugh and walked over towards her friend to take the available seat.

"What are you guys talking about?" Asked Iris as she began to settle her things by the side of the chair. She wanted to fit in with the conversation since it's just the three of them in the room. And good relationships requires some bonding. Especially if you need to gain trust when it comes to this subject.

"Oh, she was just asking us about our previous Professor and so, I totally praised Professor Rose!" Iris replied to Eye with a grin. She turned to the teacher. "Yeah, we are there together in almost all the classes, so we thought we'd come up with some way to tell the difference. It helps that one of us is in Slytherin and the other in Gryffindor." She told with a laugh.

Iris laughed softly and replied with her best answer, having all the fun she would have when talking about favorite professors and with the Irises thing,

"Rosie is awesome. But she left for other work. Still, we see each other like nothing happened. She treated students like we're just normal friends."

She paused and joined in with the whole lot of explaining the names, "Other teachers who don't know our nicknames call us the Slytherin or Gryffindor Iris."

She smiled. "That is good. I personally only have meet two good Occlumency teachers. The one before this, and the old Occlumency teacher in Durmstrang. She trained me in Occlumency, she is a natural in Leglimens and Occlumency." She smiled.

((Hey, I got to praise my charrie here Very Happy))

Iris smiled, then painted a confused look across her face. She never heard or thought of Durmstrang. And neither the teachers nor the students at all. But stating that someone had met a good professor there? All the girl knew was that it's not a really nice place in that school. Her point of view was clearly different in a way or so. But to ask is something smart right? So she had to know. At least her opinion on that matter will be satisfying enough.

"There's a good professor teaching in Durmstrang? I never knew that at least one goody person's there. Not to offend, but that situation is kinda rare. Don't you think? And I always thought of that academy as some military camp or something. More related to that."

She shook her head. "Yes. Durmstrang gained it's reputation of being a Dark school by teaching the Dark Arts itself, and because of that the Purebloods who believe in Purity put their kids there, who went Dark." She shrugged. "I admit, Durmstrang is much stricter. However, I personally like it better than Hogwarts." She sighed.

"Alright, enough chit-chat. How much do y'all know about Occlumency? Any history?" She asked.

Iris nodded diligently and registered that kind of new information on her list. She looked up at the professor who insisted on moving on with the lesson, and gazed at her other friend. History? Well, she didn't want to recall that part ever again. Not to mention that she keeps on doing it every time around. Just to play safe.

The Slytherin sighed and silently painted a lonely look on her face, conscious enough to show that she feel sort of disturbed by the question. In fact, her trials of shielding herself is not that really perfect. But still satisfying.

"Um...history, Professor?" Iris questioned with a confused expression. Not knowing if her answer was correct, she still replied, "Well, the most basic form would have to be wherein you make your mind completely devoid of memories so that no thoughts can be penetrated. As it gets more advanced, feelings and emotions are involved as well."
