Jump Jump (Aldan and Karma)

Karma sat on the edge of the Astronomy Tower, her feet dangling over the edge. She was looking down, her head cocked to the side, wondering if she'd heal if she hit the bottom, not that she'd jump. It wasn't that hard to see the ground as it was a full moon that night, and it illuminated her. She was in her pajamas again, a grey tank top and blue girl boxer shorts. She was wearing ballet flats, because she couldn't be bothered to put on her boots.

She hummed a small tune she remembered hearing at the playground near her house when she was little. Soon she was singing it.

"The itsy bitsy spider went up the water spout..." She sang softly. "Down came the rain and washed the spider out..." She toed the back of one of her flats, watching as it fell the long way to the ground. "Out came the sun and dried up all the rain..." Her other shoe went next. "And the itsy bitsy spider climbed up the spout again..."

Who in Merlin's saggy left nut was singing at this time of day? Aldan irritably searched for the occupant of the singer and eventually found the culprit singing their. Now that he was closer he could hear the lyrics and he cocked his head to the left in bafflement. What sort of song was that. Why sing about a spider? He frankly found it ridiculous and he snorted.

"Better hope it's not an Acromantula that came up the drain," he said as seriously as he felt he could get away with. He peered over the edge, around her shoulder, and saw the drop of the older girl's (for she looked definitely older than him and he wondered if she was in Arsen's year) shoe. "You gonna retrieve em or let your Acromantula in the drain grab it?"

Karma looked up at the boy looked over her shoulder, turning so they were almost face to face. "What kind of Acromantula is 'Itsy Bitsy'?" She said almost completely serious, kicking her feet slightly. He was pretty cute... for a first year. "I'll leave them there. I don't need shoes anyway."

She looked down again, her eyes on the dots that were her shoes. "It took a full two minutes for them to hit the ground. How long do you think it'd take a person?"

"A newborn one?" he guessed as he arrogantly sat down beside her, looking back down at the ground. "Up to you I guess. I certainly need my shoes, you never know when you step on glass though. Happened to me all the time as a kid. I learned a spell to make my shoes resistant to glass though so it's good."

"Can I push you and find out?" he asked dryly, looking at her with a blank look.

Karma rolled her eyes. A baby one. Cheeky prat. "Broken glass isn't an issue for me."

She laughed, actually laughed at him. "I'd just heal and come back and push you." She said. "How would you fare?"
