Five Minutes (Aldannah)

She was back home.

At least, that's how Savannah felt now that she was back at Hogwarts. Shivering slightly as she remembered her ordeal in the cave, she walked faster, Ross on her heels as she headed up to the Owlry. Ever since she'd gotten back, she'd pledged to spend more time with her cat. She'd missed him terribly. For that matter, she'd missed everything about Hogwarts. Even the people she couldn't stand.

Gripping the letter in her hand, Savannah beckoned one of the school's owls to take it to her mother. She knew that she had to be worried sick over her. Tightly fastening the letter to the tawny owl's leg, she watched it fly off, picking up the cat at her feet.

What was she doing? The startling thought shook her, and she put Ross down with shaking hands. She was alone, and hadn't she been alone when she'd gotten crownapped? Just because she'd been saved didn't mean that it couldn't come back and get her again. Reaching for wand, she realized that she didn't have a wand anymore. At least I remembered to ask my Mother for a new one.

I'll leave in five minutes, she compromised, sitting down to pet Ross as she glanced at the setting sun.

The vow was always on Aldan's mind.

Ever since getting caught on the battle field by his older brother that day, Aldan hadn't had much luck in his own mission to help muggles. The unbreakable vow assured Asric that Aldan couldn't betray him and Aldan wouldn't admit to being unnerved by its power. There were loopholes, but not enough for the Ravenclaw to be assured.

Aldan hadn't attended the protectors meetings anymore, assuring himself that he wouldn't purposefully spill secrets. He avoided its members as well if he could help it.

The now 12-year-old boy sighed miserably and trudged into the owlery, hoping to send an owl out to a friend before he wore himself out with the stress yet again. As he entered he stopped and frowned. It was a girl he'd met in the protectors... Savannah wasn't it?

Praying she didn't hear him he turned to leave immediately only to stumble over an owl on the floor. Honestly, what the bloody hell was an owl doing down there! Nevertheless he caught his footing, smacking into the wall, and he swore. Loudly.

She heard him before she saw him. Maybe this happened with all kidnapped people (she'd have to ask JJ), or maybe she was just hypersensitive to all sounds around her. But she definetly heard footsteps. Letting go of Ross, she frowned, waiting for whomever was coming to finally arrive.

Aldan Chaos. It was Aldan Chaos. The brother of the headmaster. Why was her mind telling her stuff she already knew? Before she really had a chance to think, he tripped over an owl. Smirking as she watched him smack into a wall, she covered her mouth to cover up the giggles that erupted from her mouth.

Merlin, she hadn't laughed in weeks. But it was good to know that she hadn't forgotten how. "Smooth," She said as she calmed herself down. "You could win awards for your grace,"

"My grace is pretty amazing isn't it?" he muttered sarcastically, his pride wounded in that split second but he recovered from it pretty well for someone of his age. He thanked his recovery speed on his intelligence at the very least.

Aldan inclined his head, looking over at Savannah in a mixture of puzzled curiosity and a bit of pleased anxiety. She was a protector and if she so chose to divulge information about the order, he'd be forced through his vow to his brother to report it to Asric. He dearly hoped she hadn't been informed of anything she wanted to talk about since her capture.

"You're well?" he inquired, his own short words expressing his own concern.

Savannah shrugged, her eyes trained on Ross, frowning slightly as she watched him pad over to the owl by Aldan's feet. Glancing up at the blond, she spoke slowly, "I guess so. Being kidnapped wasn't that bad,"

Smirking suddenly, she thought of how she'd found out the identities of the girls' who'd attacked JJ, "It wasn't a total loss, I guess."

"What about you?" She asked, her blue eyes glittering with curiosity despite the cold edge to her voice, "I haven't seen you around the meetings anymore. Told your brother everything he needs to know?"
