Remember Me? (Mel & Ari)

Melanie close the book she had just finished reading and sighed.
She sat on a stone bench in the Clock Tower Courtyard alone and was getting a bit bored.

She jumped a bit up, surprised, when someone suddenly spoke behind her.

"MELANIE!" Ari yelled, and threw herself onto Mel. "Hey, lovely!"
Mel jumped, and Ari laughed. Normally it was her who jumped out of her skin.
"How are you, sugar?"

"ARI!" She smiled at the girl that jumped on her. "I am perfect! I haven't seen you around for some time Arikins," she pouted "How are you and what have you been doing?!" she said and laughed.

"Well," she said with a smile. "I may have happened to meet your cousin!" She beamed.
"What about you?"

Melanie raised her eyebrows "My cousin?"

She shook her head at Ari's hyperness "Not much.. falling on people, classes, trying to get to know some of the Ravenclaws... most my friends seem to be Huffle and Doors," She playfully poked Ari in the stomach.

"Oh?" she said with a smile, when Mel poked her. She poked her back and smiled. "And what's this I hear about Ravenclaw boys?" she asked with a huge grin, nudging Mel playfully.

Melanie blushed. "Boys? There are no boys.." she said and shook the blush of her face.

"I heard that you my dear, met a boy yourself.. Fell from the sky on top of him and then went swimming the the lake!" she said and poked Ari again, not mentioning that she had met the same boy.

"The blond Ravenclaw?" she asked, and grinned. "Yeah, I fell out of a tree and then he went swimming. He's pretty cool," she said cheerfully. "But not in a 'I WANT TO HAVE HIS BABIES' way. He'd be cool to have as a mate though, y'know?"
She grinned at Mel; she knew she was being tested. After all, how would Mel know she had gone swimming with him if she hadn't met him?
"Melly, I am actually dying to know!" she sighed. "Are you going out? When did you meet?! TELL ME!" She laughed.

Melanie laughed "Not in a 'I wanna have his babies' way," she mocked. "You are the weirdest girl alive Ari dear." she said.

She blushed. "Alright, I may have possibly met James..."

"I try," she laughed.
"Oh, you may possibly have met him?" she raised her eyebrows in a teasing manner. "Spill, darling, spill!"

Melanie stood up "Somanyquestions!" she said as she blushed. "I'm just gonna go and..." she didn't bother finish because she turned away and started running away from Ari, but of course with her luck and clumsiness she was tripped by a stone and fell forward flat on her face. "Ouch."

Ari laughed as she started to run away; it confirmed her questions in her mind.
But then Mel tripped.
"Ow, Mel are you okay?" she asked, wincing as Mel fell flat on her face. It seemed so much like something she would do, and she knew it hurt. She rushed over to her and crouched beside her. "Have you grazed your face?"

Melanie groaned as she sat up and leaned her face onto Ari's shoulder. "Why do things like this happen to me?" she sighed.

"First I fall on top of a really cute boy and now I fall flat on my face." She trailed her fingers over her face. "Am I bleeding?"

"A little bit," Ari said honestly. "Do you wanna go to the Hospital Wing or are you just gonna let it heal?"
She gave Mel a hug.

"If it doesn't look awful, I let it heal." she sighed and hugged Ari back.

"I guess I owe you an explanation now, don't I?" she groaned and poked Ari.

"You sure do!" Ari laughed. "Nah, you don't have to. I'm just a nosey beggar. But of course, if you're going to explain it then I'm very happy to listen....?" She winked.

Melanie laughed. "Well... Uhm, I have no idea where to start. I met a guy. Or FELL on a guy... we talked... and walked. And it was easy, you know? Felt like I had known him for a while." She shrugged. "He mentioned knowing you.. thats how I knew about you also falling on him and then going swimming." she smiled.

"He is cute," she added in an afterthought and blushed.

"So, a lot of girls fall on him?" she said with a grin. "And yet you were the specialist," she said, nudging Mel. "Aw, yay!" she said cheerfully, giving Mel a hug. "When was the last time you spoke?"

Melanie groaned. "I was so awkward." she blushed. "And when he was pulling me up after I fell on him, I must've lost my balance or something because I stumbled right into his chest... That was even more awkward." She groaned. "Merlin hates me..."

"Defense Against The Dark Arts." Melanie mutter just above a whisper as an answer to Ari's question and felt the familiar red color apper on her cheeks.

"Aha," she said with a smile. "I do believe I saw you."
She put her arm around Mel when she blushed. "Yeah, well, you still spoke to him didn't you?" she said cheerfully. "So he must fancy you back, no? Even after you kept falling on him?" She winked.

"Falling on him, falling for him..." she rolled her eyes. "I do not fancy him," She then said. "I do not fancy people." She said stubbornly.

"I talked to him.. In Defense... He sits next to me.. Or I sit next to him... We... sit... together." she closed her eyes. "I'm blushing again aren't I?"

"Okay, Mel," she said with a grin. "You don't fancy people. But say he fancied you..."

Melanie brought her hand to her forehead. "No he doesn't." she blushed again. "You are so evil Ariadne, do you know that? You need to fancy someone so I can teas you..."

She grinned. "Well, as soon as I fancy anyone, I'll tell you first," she promised. "Then you can tease me until I die in a hole. Deal?"
She offered her hand out to Mel.

"Oh believe me Ari dear, I will" She nudged Ari playfully. "Do you think I should continue talking to James?" she leaned her head on Ari's shoulder. "So what if I might tiny tiny tiny bit fancy the boy...?"
