A New Confidence

Stella got on the ship and saw all of her friends and was excited for the new year. She was looking for Mattie and anyone else she new but she kept getting distracted by all the new things. So she just decided to take a break and went to go take a seat. She sat and was ready for this new year. She was confident and new that it would bring new things.

"Bye Roman, honey. I love you," His mother called desperately to him, trying to get out one word from him. But Roman just kept walking, not even giving her a second glance.

He hadn't talked to his parents in more than a week. They had engaged him to some random girl without so much as asking him if he was okay with that. Needless to say, he was pissed.

Lugging his heavy bag in one hand, he walked into the first empty compartment he could find. At least, it had looked empty from where he was standing.

Now he noticed that there was someone in there, "Sorry," he said with an apologetic smile, "Could I sit here?" He recognized the girl, but didn't know her. Which was good. He didn't think he could stand being around people he did know, anyway.
