Charms, Lesson 1 Third Years

Casey smacked herself in the forehead when she entered her fourth empty classroom for the day. I'm turning into a teacher's pet, showing up first to all my classes, she thought gloomily to herself. She sat down, looking at her already drawn on left arm, shrugged (which she seemed to be doing a lot lately) and started drawing on her right leg.

Jamie walked into class and saw a girl drawing on her leg. Jamie shook her head and walked into her mother's classroom. Jamie took a seat to see the girl's one arm already drawn on. Could you be that bored, Jamie thought to herself. "Hello" Jamie greeted to the girl. She should try and be nice although it took a lot for Jamie to actually be nice.

Alex walked into the classroom to see a girl drawing on her leg and Jamie trying to hold back on saying something mean. Alex was one of the people that could actually calm her down. Alex sat down next to Jamie. "Hello" Alex said to the girl drawing on her leg. "Calm down" Alex whispered in Jamie's ear.

Casey looked up to see two girls she recognized from her earlier classes walking in. "Hi," she greeted them. Reading the expression on the first girl's face as well as her emotions, she said, "Yes, I really am that bored. I've been first to ALL my classes today and have had no one to talk to." She then continued drawing a complex pattern on her knee.

Jamie nodded. "I get what you mean, It happened to me all last year mostly and I tend to get really in a pissy mood when it comes to my mother's class, she teaches this class and Alex I am calm" Jamie said. When Jamie realized that was harsh she apologized. "Sorry but you no how I get when I come here" Jamie explained to Alex.

Lenora walked into her classroom to see her students along with her daughter. Lenora walked to the front of the board and grabbed out her wand and wrote Cheering charm. "Hello everyone, can either of you tell me what the cheering charm does" Lenora asked the three girls.

Jamie saw her mom come in and sighed. Jamie faced the board and watched as her mother wrote on it with her wand. Just by the sound of the cheering charm made Jamie laugh. Really her mom couldn't think of a better lesson, oh well. Jamie raised her hand.

"The cheering charm makes a person happy and contented" Jamie lowered her hand and sighed. This was a piece of cake.

Lenora nodded. "Correct, 15 points to Slytherin. Today we will be using that charm, okay Miss. Donohoe I want you to use the cheering charm on Miss Gilbert. Just go over to her and think of the cheering charm in your head and have your wand pointing at her, there are no words so you have to think 'cheering charm' and it will cause her to be really happy" Lenora ordered her two students.

Casey stood up and walked over to Alex, pointing her wand at the other girl. She thought cheering charm really hard, her eyes narrowed in concentration. Instantly, Alex began smiling. Casey grinned too, happy with her efforts and turned to the Professor for approval.

Lenora nodded to the girl. "Great, 15 points to Gryffindor. Good job Casey. Now I want you three to try this spell together, as in together" Lenora looked at Jamie. "It's okay if you don't get it right away but I want you to try. Get on with it you three" Lenora odered the students.
