History of Magic, Lesson 1; First years Empty History of Magic, Lesson 1; First years

Post by Certh Salamar Mon Apr 02, 2012 9:09 pm

So far, Certh was having a wonderful day. Besides some of the mudbloods that were in his classes, he did not take to hexing them in front of the teachers. Briskly walking to his next class, he had heard it was good: History of Magic. He heard stories about what they told there, about Voldemort and his rise, it intrigued Certh greatly.

Swinging open the door to the room, he walked over the threshold and to a desk that was at the side of the room, setting down his books.

When Charlotte walked in her History of Magic class, she noticed that same boy was there again.

As she sat down in a desk in the front and pulled out her books, she said, "You sure like being early to classes."

Certh sat, facing the front of the classroom, seemingly staring off into space toward the black board. It was however, interrupted by footsteps which came up behind him. Must be another student, he thought, or the teacher, about time. His first guess had been proven correct as she sat in front of him, a desk or two ahead. "Nothing better to do, is all" He replied back to her, with his usual slytherin hiss hidden amongst his words.

Miles was ready was ready for his next class, he was quite excited about it, he often spend ages in the library reading various History books. As he entered he saw two students were already there, he recognised the boy he had sat next to him on the train

Miles took a seat next to him " Hey I didn't know you were doing this class" he then smiled and nodded at the girl

Certh had then went back to skimming through his textbook, until another pair of footsteps had interrupted him yet again. He was prepared to snarl at the next student, his hand almost on the handle of his wand in case he did need it: even though he was just a first year, his parents had taught him a... few spells.

He was rather shocked, however, as Miles had walked up and sat beside him one desk over. He had had a little fun with him, and the huffleypuff on the train. It made the long ride somewhat.. easier. "yea, well I heard that this class is good for certain knowledge" He replied back, not wanting to give away much to the other Slytherin, he closed his book. Believing that he would wish to have a conversation.

Charlotte nodded in agreement; she didn't have much to do either. They were soon joined by another Slytherin, who already seemed to know the first boy.

Of course, she thought, same house and all.

She opened her History of Magic book and flipped through the pages, reading about the founders of Hogwarts and all they'd learn that year.

Miles wasn't entirely sure what Certh meant by certain information, but he decided not to pursue this thought " Well I defiantely think it should be interesting" Miles then looked at both of them

" Hey do you guys know what we're doing this lesson?" Miles asked awaiting an answer

He glanced to the chalkboard in front of them as Miles began to reply. He had thought he would have been the only Slytherin in history of magic, being mostly about that - history. "yes, it should be. I've heard great things about this class. But we don't start getting into the heavy stuff until at least 5th year"

He proceeded to bring out his wand before the teacher arrived, and began twirling it around his right hand, intertwining it throughout his fingers, waiting for an answer about what the class was going to be about.

Jessica strolled into the classroom, grinning to herself.
"Hello, hello, I'm here. Your days just got better," she said, sitting down in an empty seat. She put her book on the table as quietly as possible, and rested her head down on it. She'd not gotten much sleep the night before, but still she made a fair entrance to the room. She reached into her bag and pulled out a notebook, and flipped through the pages, smiling at her random doodles on the pages.

Charlotte turned to the other Slytherin boy and shrugged.

"According to the book, the first topic is Godric Gryffindor," she explained, "But who knows if the professor will start there or not."

Miles nodded at the girls answer, "Hmm... Godric Gryffindor, sounds good" Miles remarked, he then watched as Certh twirled his wand in his hand

" You no this subject doesn't require a wand" Miles said with a joking smirk

"Ah good. It seems that your year has slightly fewer ignorant idoits than the one before you," Irelai said as she walked into the classroom. She sat down at her desk and flipped through the notes on it for a few moments. "You will be starting your history education in this school with its founders. Godric Gryffindor is the one we will be focusing on today. Can anyone tell me what he was famous for, besides being one of the founders?" she asked, raising her head to look at the stduents, her eyes daring them not to know the answer.

Miles wasn't quite sure of the answer, he never read about the founders of Hogwarts he mainly read about other famous wizards and witches, but he decided to raise his hand

"Um.. would it just be because he was really brave like was he warrior something" Miles said vaguely he had absoloutely no idea but felt he may as well take a stab in the dark

Eva walked in to class hoping she wasn't late she probably was. When she entered she saw the lesson was already started and sighed. She mouthed "Sorry Professor" And took a seat in the back. She was mad at herself for being late. It was the first day though she shouldn't be too hard on herself. Hogwarts was nothing like her old school.

She heard the question and thought. "Didn't he bring the giant squid to the school, and was the owner of the sorting hat." She said slightly unsure.
