Love Bites

Laurent was feeling stressed out and frustrated, he asked I guy who really liked liked and thought was gay but unfortunately he was turned down, he was crushed and annoyed at the same time he couldn't believe he just embrassed himself in such a way, he defiantely didn't want to go to the common room,. cos he knew surely everybody would be talking about it

He walked into the library and strolled along the different sections he was trying to find a section he was sure not many people would go into, after he a few mintues he came to the Divinatory Arts section, he felt sure hardly anybody would be likely to come down here, he walked to the end of section and sat down with his back resting against the wall, as he sat in between two bookshelfs. He pulled his knee's up and placed his face into his palms and softly began to cry

Lisette wandered among the many bookshelves, searching in vain for the section on Equestrian Studies. It was weird how eerily quiet the library was right now. Usually, there was at least the sound of people turning pages, and quills scratching against parchment, but this was weird. It almost felt as if she were deaf or something.

She shrugged off the feeling and continued prowling around the place. It wasn't until a few minutes later that she turned her head to look through yet another section when she saw a person sitting against the wall.

"Hey Laurent, what are you-" She noticed he had his face in his hands, which could only mean one thing. The girl rushed over to him and knelt beside the first year, "Oh, honey... what happened to you?"

Laurent looked up as he heard a familiar voice, it was the 5th year he had met at the dinning hall she knelt beside him and asked him what was wrong. Laurent quickly wiped his eyes and kept his head down

"Oh.. um.. its nothing really" Laurent paused for a moment trying to think of an excuse "I just failed my Domestic studies assigment" Laurent manged to blurt out, while he hadn't he felt this would be a convincing cover

She sighed and sat down beside him, "Yeah, I've always hated that class. But don't worry about it. Trust me, first year is always the toughest. You'll get through it." She drew her knees up to her chest and hooked her arms around them, looking at Laurent for a little longer,

"You sure there's nothing else you want to talk about? I know we're not the best of friends but... I am known for being a good listener." She was Lisette Josse after all, and she knew a broken heart when she saw one.

Laurent kept quite for a while as Lisette asked if there was anythign else he wanted to talk about, he finally let out a sigh

"Well... have you ever screamed out in the, thinking nobody could hear you, feeling confident and strong?" Laurent asked is a subdued tone, while he stared down at the ground

Lisette thought for a moment. It was certainly a strange question. Maybe it's metaphorical? she thought, looking around the library as she searched for an answer.

"Yeah, I guess I have, in a sense," she smiled, "Why do you ask?"

Laurent looked over at Lisette and nodded " Well thats called false hope" Laurent then went back to staring back down at the ground, his mind kept replaying the moment he asked the boy out and horrible rejection, it was like he was in a trance, this depression had consumed and paralysed him

Lisette had to fight the urge to "aww" out loud. The poor boy was only a first year and he'd already gotten his heart broken, and pretty badly, too. Her eyes were full of sympathy as she watched him look down at the floor.

"Hey, don't worry about it," she gave him a reassuring smile, putting her hand on his shoulder in an encouraging gesture, "You've got to get your heart broken a few times before you can find the right person to fix it. Otherwise, how can you know they're the one?" She grinned, more than a little proud that she'd come up with that on the spot.
