Transfiguration Lesson 2; Second Year Empty Transfiguration Lesson 2; Second Year

Post by Charlotte Bell Mon Apr 23, 2012 3:53 pm

Once again the first person to class, Charlotte slumped down in her seat, humming. She enjoyed the quiet, and hoped that this class would be small. She twirled her wand around and it gave off a few pink sparks and she laughed quietly. Her feet started tapping on the floor, a rythmic but annoying sound.

She took out her text book and placed it on the desk, then waited for the start of the lesson.

She hated this class. Oh sure, the material was amazing, but the professor and the classmates other than Vincent? They sucked. Huffing, she entered the classroom, her arms crossed.

Glaring at Charlotte, she took a seat away from her, continuing to glare, "I hope you're happy that I got detention. It's all your fault."

Strolls in, swinging her long dark hair behind her back.

"Can you two stop being skitches for five seconds? I'm in a really good mood here."
Delia smiles in a genuinely happy way, waving a sealed letter in thick creamy paper. Bobbing her head back and forth to a song neither of them can hear, she pops the seal and begins to read, her smile slowly crumpling as her eyes flit back and forth across the page.

Delia slowly, very aware of the other two, lowers her hands holding the letter beneath the table and slowly crumples it up before placing it in the pocket of her robes, her face hard.

Charlotte turns her head to see who entered the classroom. When she realized it was just Savannah, she rolled her eyes and turned back around. She snickered when the girl spoke to her, and examined her nails as if they were the most interesting thing in the world.

"Ah, yes, how was that? Fun?" Charlotte said, before the other girl walked into the classroom.
She raised an eyebrow, not happy that this snotty girl was in such a great mood. She watched her from the corner of her eye, seeing as her face falls reading the letter.

She shrugs and turns away, not really caring about the girls misery. It amused her, really.

"It would've been so much better if you were there," Savannah shrugged, "especially seeing as you should've been there anyway, but oh well."

Glancing over at the new girl, Savannah raised an eyebrow, "I'm sorry, but you don't rule the world. I'm not just going to change for you sake. Not at all." Leaning back in her chair, she studied the girl for a moment before asking with a tilted head, "Something bothering you?"

Lynx walked into the class with textbooks in one hand and a cage with several hedgehogs in the other, he walked up to the front of the class and placed the textbooks and cage on the desk, and turned to the class there was only three students though this was normal not many second years were prepared study and work hard which was required to succeed in this class

"Good morning class, today we shall be learning how to turn hedgehogs into pincusions" Lynx then opened the cage and carefully pulled out one of the hedgehogs and held it his palm, he then pulled out his wand

"To cast the spell you must hold your wand firmly, then tap the air either side of the hedgehog and say Ericius Paxillus" the hedgehog quickly turned into a pincushion, and Lynx placed it down on the desk

"Alright so be very clear when your saying the incantation because thats where a lot of people go wrong, now each of you come up and carefully get a hedgehog and bring it back to your desk"

Charlotte straightened as the Professor walked in, and she gave him her sweetest smile. She was still overjoyed by the fact that he hadn't given her detention, as Savannah so kindly reminded her. When he pulled out a hedgehog, she nearly squealed with delight, but stopped herself. She would look silly if she squealed.

She stood up in a flash and walked towards his desk, excited to get her hands on one of the little creatures. She lifted one up and grinned at it, then carried it back to her desk, stroking his little nose as that's the only part that isn't prickly. Charlotte set him down and pulled her wand out, not too happy that she'd have to turn the little guy into a pincushion.

"Professor, will we be turning them back into hedgehogs?" She asked, her eyebrows furrowing together.

Lynx looked over at the Slytherin girl who asked would they be turning the hedgehogs back, Lynx smiled softly "Ah yes we will Miss Bell, under magical law it is illegal to keep an animal or person in a transfiguration for more then 4 and a half hours"

Lynx then had a sudden thought, remembering that Charlotte and Savannah weren't exactly the best of friends and it appeared that Savannah was quite prepared to do magical harm

"Ah but may I also point out while where on legality, Professor Chaos takes Transfiguration VERY seriously, in fact if you transfigure someone without consent the consequences are far worse than if you were to hex someone" Lynx shot a glance over towards Savannah, seeming his speech was mainly directed at her

Glancing down at the hedgehog on her desk, Savannah tilted her head at it. Oh sure, it was cute, but nothing, nothing at all, even came near to Ross to her. Her hear aching, she flicked her gaze up to the professor, eyes narrowing as he glanced at her.

What did he expect her to do? Had he forgottten how long it took her to perform the simplest spell these days? Huffing softly, she crossed her arms, "I think I have better things to do than turn people into pincushions."

Lynx looked at Savannah with an innocent look, " Oh no I wasn't saying you personally would do that, I was just giving a general warning to the class" Lynx then scanned the class making sure they all had their hedgehogs

"Ah so right we all have our hedgehogs, do you need me to go over the spell once again before you attempt it?" Lynx asked

After Charlotte was reassured that they would in fact return the hedgehogs to their normal state, she pulled her wand out and stared hard at the creature in front of her. Pointing her wand at it, she mumbled Ericius Paxillus.

Frowning, she realized the animal hadn't changed at all. She rubbed its nose and tilted her head, wondering what she did wrong. Shrugging, she tried it a few more times, still not seeing any results. She huffed to herself and gripped her wand tighter, placing it directly on the hedgehogs prickly back. She said the spell again, and this time, a pincushion was sitting in it's place. She grinned at her work and poked it lightly with her wand, wondering who in the world felt the need to create such a spell.

Belinda walked into the classroom and saw the professor was here. AGAIN. Belinda just sighed. "Sorry I'm late" Belinda apologized. She took a seat and waited for him to yell at her or do something that would get Belinda probably in trouble.

Bridget walked in and saw professor Miller was there. Bridget nodded her apology and took a seat next to Belinda. She knew Valerie wouldn't take this class since she really never liked Transfiguration that much. Bridget smiled at Belinda and then faced the class to see what was going on in the class.

"Of course you were." Savannah said softly, grumbling under her breath. Crossing her arms, she glared down at the hedgehog like it was the source of all her problems.

Huffing slightly, she uncrossed her arms to grab her wand. Staring at the hedgehog for a moment, she scowled, saying, "Ericius Paxillus."

Allowing her breath to hitch slightly, she closed her eyes, praying the spell had worked. Opening her eyes, she stared at the weird spiky pincushion on her desk. Sighing softly, she tried again.

Lynx glared over at the students who arrived in late, he was normally quite a relaxed teacher, didn't get angry to often but the one thing he could not stand was lateness, espcially when ther left lesson only had about 15 minutes left

"You girls are EXTREMLY late, im deducting 15 points from bothg of you" Lynx then looked over at the two girls who performed the spell he was impressed with their efforts they seemed to be picking up the spell quite quickly

"Well done Miss Bell and Miss Lerran, both excellent transfiguration. Now could you please turn to chapter 15 and copy out all the information in bold thank you" Lynx looked over at the girls who had arrived late

"You've missed the practical part of this lesson, so you will just have to copy from the textbook like the others are doing"
