Paloma hummed softly to herself as she walked into the Defence classroom, her mind in the clouds. That half-term had been an unusally good one, no fighting, no arguing. Just . . . peace.

Taking a seat near the wall, she let a big grin appear on her face. The Uchitel didn't even know why she was so excited, it was just one of those days when life seemed really good.

Lena coughed as she went into the classroom. She had just filled her water canteen with some water, and sipped a little bit as she entered the classroom. Her eyes beamed as she saw the sight of her best friend and Paloma.

"Dudes!" she called, hugging them both from behind, "how were your winter breaks?"

Damian had woken up with the conclusion that he couldn't be bothered with attending classes. There were all so very tedious - he could learn most of this stuff from textbooks and the rest from Master Chaos, without the necessity of interacting with some of the idiots in his year.

But not even Damian was daring enough to skip his own master's class.

Walking into the classroom, Damian wondered when Asric would stop switching classes. Honestly, why did professors keep coming and going?

Damian summoned a small smile for the girls already in the classroom when he arrived. "Morning," he offered. He wasn't feeling particularly social. It just wasn't his year for being out-going and friendly. Everything just kept going wrong.

Taking a seat in the aisle of the second row from the front, the boy slouched back in his chair, not even bothering to take out his book just yet.

Angel was frowning as she entered the classroom. Her fever was still there, but not very much and she was better than she had been only days ago. Having the flu sucked, but she didn't really care.

Taking a seat by herself, Angel quickly nodded and mumbled. "Hello." to the others, hardly glancing up.

Lost in her thoughts, Paloma didn't hear someone come in the class and jumped out of her chair when someone poked her sides, yelling her name. Eyes wide, she saw it was Anya and breathed, laughing a bit. "Merlin, do you want to give me a heart attack?" she said, with a hand to her chest. She opened her mouth to answer, but someone hugged her from behind and she turned her head to look at the person.

"Lena! Hey!" she greeted and sighed, "Oh, it was wonderful. It was just so calm and. . . nice." It had been an unusually good one, for such small reasons, but she was so relaxed and happy because of it. "What about both of you? Did you have nice breaks?" she asked.

Paloma saw another boy come through the doors and greet them, along with Angel, and she waved, "Morning."

Thomas walked into class and was glad there was another boy here. Last class there were basically only girls there when he walked in. Thomas took a seat and just sat there and got his stuff out for the class. Thomas saw the book he was reading during the break and opened it to see a picture of him and Alex on Christmas. Thomas grinned at the memory.

Caleb walked in and saw Thomas and took a seat next to him. He looked at what Thomas was looking at and saw a picture of him and Alex. Caleb took it and looked at it. "Your sister looks hot in this picture" Caleb told him and handed it back to him. Caleb never thought about Alex in that way which was odd to him.

Rley strolled into Defense, her blue eyes sparkling, smiling. She'd figured out how to arrange her scarf so it hid the ivy and a spell to prevent itching. It made her happy. "Hi, guys," she grinned.

Hades walked into the classroom to see his friends there again. Hades saw them looking at a picture of Thomas and Alex. Hades hurried up and grabbed it. He took the empty table in front of them. "Nice dude" Hades gave it back to Thomas. Hades looked at Caleb. "Why would you say his sister looks hot, you no how protective he is of her and he'd throw you out a window" Hades told him.

Ric appeared behind Hades from out of nowhere. "A window? A little extreme don't you think?" He smiled. "Back in my day... nevermind. Right lets begin shall we?" He said making his way to the front of the class. Once there he perched on the front of his desk and placed either hand beside him.

"Now, who can tell me the pros of the Salvio Hexia Spell? Better yet, start off by telling me what it does."

He nodded, seems they were learning at Durmstrang despite Ace going AWOL for all these years. He had to respect Sacha for that. "Correct, and where would you mostly likely be using this kind of spell?" He asked making himself comfortable on the edge of his desk.

Damian swallowed back a sigh. He'd read about this spell how many years ago? Boring. Classes were absolutely boring. With any luck, maybe they'd actually get to practice the spell. That might liven things up a bit.

"It's often used in erecting defensive wards around a place," Damian answered. "While it can be used by itself, it's usually used in combination with other spells. You can also use it to protect yourself, or a single person, but protego is more commonly used for that - works better in combative situations and takes less time to cast, too."

Pandora made her way to the Defence classroom feeling sick. She looked to pale like a vampire you could say. The new scar on her left cheek didn't help matters. She coughed and entered the clasroom and sat at the back.

"I apoligise for being late." She said to the Headmaster.
