Although he is usually pretty friendly, Alec can be a bit too sure of himself and he's way too proud and stubborn, aside from being also a sore loser.

The Prideux loves a good adventure, wouldn't intentionally hurt a lot of people, though he can be a bit insensitive sometimes, and also loves sports. He would never admit this, but he's afraid of falling in love and, after the incidents with love potions, is scared of them as well.

Overall history: The Blanchard family was a pureblood family, but one of those that did not agree with all the blood purity crap and actually liked Muggles and Muggleborn witches and wizards. Even though the Blanchard's enjoyed muggles, Jean-Pierre grew up in a traditional pureblood household, with house-elves, a lot of money, etiquette classes and homes in a few different countries. After graduating from Beauxbatons, he - a Prideux - met Dorothée Ducruet, a Muggle, while he was working at a travel agency for the summer. Their love for traveling the world got them to become fast friend and, two months later, they started dating. They got married and, on one of their trips, Alec was born. A few yars later they had Amélie.

Alec had always had a loving family growing up. His parents cared for him and - though his grandparents made sure he received the "usual pureblood teachings"-, his mother taught him a lot of Muggle stuff. When his parents started fighting all the time, in the middle of his third year, his world got turned upside down. It began with the little arguments, most of which they made up after. One day, they had a huge fight. Both of them left, and his mother later came home with another guy. His father got home, drunk, a few hours later. He saw his wife cheating, and they argued again. He tried to stop the fight, but ended up being hit by his drunk father. He couldn't handle being home anymore, so he spent most of his days with some new Muggle friends who got him smoking, and usually left his sister alone during the fights, something he regrets

He pretends everything's okay when it's not and, though he loves his family, he's scared of what might happen in the future, for his parents are living separated, but not yet divorced.

Beauxbatons is like a safe haven to him and he feels much better there. During the summer before his fourth year, he crashed a party at Julian Rousseau's house and drank a punch that was filled with Amortentia. He doesn't remember what he did, but, according to sources, he was acting obsessed with the other boy - though not too much since he had only taken a sip. At Ninette Fontaine's Christmas party, to get revenge on Julian, the girl spiked his drink with Amortentia and Julian "fell in love" with Alec, even declaring it to the whole party and kissing him full on the lips. Embarrassed by those two incidents, and adding to the fact that his parents are fighting, Alec has a slight fear of love potions and falling in love.
