A Little Afternoon Reading Empty A Little Afternoon Reading

Post by Gavril Hristo Thu Apr 26, 2012 11:16 pm

It had been a hard day - classes, homework, and on top of that was his time used wandering around the grounds when he should have been up in the common room doing his work. Finally, though, he was able to get to it after the school day had completed. He was lounging in a rather comfy chair, still wearing his school robes - which kept him rather warm, with a book open in his lap and some parchment on the desk just beside. It wasn't very interesting, just some potions definitions and such that needed to be copied out - rather boring work, to Gav.

After several long, strenuous minutes of writing he peeled his attention away from the book and took a look around to see who was still there.

First few classes of his third year were quite strenuous, and something he hadn't really expected. The physical education was by far the most liberating thing that Jordan had done in a while, and was really helping him. If he was going to be an excellent keeper this year for Hrabrost, he would need to be in peak physical condition - so it was his dedication. On his trip to Azora, he had purchased a book about the Dark Arts and had dived straight into it, upon returning to school. It told tales of Death Eaters and Voldemort - and they were quite exciting, and drove the evil inside of him. But it was getting later than he had thought, and he gazed around to see who was still in the Common Room. And there he was, sitting on the other side of the room, his Quidditch buddy, the seeker for the team. With a smile on his face he snapped his book shut and walked over to the guy, and patted him on the back. In a playful tone, his British accent coming through he spoke to the guy.

"Well well, if it isn't the seeker! How are ya doing mate?"

Gav was caught slightly off guard by the pat to his back. He did not see Jordan approach him from behind - must have been in one of his blind spots. Soon after, he closed the book, did not bother to stick in a page marker before setting it down on the desk with his parchment. His time on the Quidditch team was great - although he and Jordan had never spoken much outside of practice, he still considered him somewhat of a friend. Even if he had never told him what his purity was.

"Oi. G'day. Been pretty wonderful - took a walk around the grounds, it is beautiful here. How about you, anything interesting happen t'you?"

Jordan smiled at Gav, it was nice to see him smiling and being friendly. Everyone on the Qudditch team at least deserved to have fun outside of the sport, at least even once. They were pretty new to the school too, so why not be friends? Even if this guy was a mudblood, it didn't matter - friends are part of Jordan's loyalty code, regardless of their lineage. Pulling up a chair next to him, he gently placed his Dark Arts book down and smiled at him - looking to see what Gav had been reading. A potions book, that was interesting, Jordan had never taken Gav for the type to be interested in all that lot. Tapping the book that Gav had he smiled, and asked him about it.

"How is that potion book, Gav - it any good? I can't really stand the third year one, it is actually bloody dreadful!"

And with a few laughs he took his hand away from Gav's book, and pushed his book towards him slightly. With a playful tap, he knocked on the Dark Arts book - with a smirk on his face, as he turned back to Gavril. Literally like a snake, he hissed through his teeth - so only the boy next to him would hear.

"This book is actually pretty damn amazing! Shame though, I doubt the school would even regard teaching us any of these things. Mainly because it talks about Voldemort and various other things that the magical world seems to ignore now..."

Gavril seemed content there - sitting in the chair, a smile, too, came to his lips as Jordan placed his hand on his potions book. He did not know what Jordan was doing - whether it was just being friendly, (which he thought was a good choice) or wanted something. But nonetheless, he kept his attention on him and enjoyed the conversation that was transpiring.

"Tis a good read - t'I'm thinking about putting it'way and doing it som'other time, when it's less busy." He replied back, in his usual Bulgarian accent. He noted his arm movement - but did not think much of it, as Gav's arm moved outward to place the quill down as well. He was rather interested when the Dark Arts book was pulled out. He, himself had one but it wasn't exactly the 'same' as the one Jordan had. His interest was further peaked at the mention of Voldemort and the Death Eaters.

"Dat looks like quite the amazing book. Voldemort, did you say? Would y'mind if I took a look at it sometime? Been wanting t'see a few things"

Jordan wasn't really interested in the Potions book, he was simply showing an interest in him. Everyone needed friends, hell - even the Quidditch players needed to get along. If they hoped to be any good at the sport they had to bond as a team and be friends - on and off the field. It pleased him to know that Gav took an interest in the Dark Arts, even though he was surely not as in depth as Jordan was, himself. The whole world of dark wizards intrigued him. At first Jo was interested in the magic, which was all powerful - then it was the wizards that fought valiantly against Potter and everyone else. Those were some heroes, if there ever were any, for a young, evil wizard. I laughed a bit as I slid the book towards him, even further.

"Go ahead mate, doesn't really matter if ya read it or not. Just take a look at it, mate. Feel free to take a gander in the dark realm of magic."

Gav brought his hand from his lap to the Dark Arts book that Jordan had in his possession. His interest appeared peaked as soon as the words 'Voldemort' and 'Death Eaters' reached his ears, but he tried to hide it. His sight moved from the cover of the very old - torn cover back to Jordan. "M'kay. Thanks, mate." He replied, with a slight nod. His eyes meeting Jordan's again before he looked back to the book. "'ave you taken many looks into tis book?"

Jordan smiled as Gav watched him closely, his eyes flashing between the boy and the book. Great, he thought, another wizard that he could count on for a new regime of Death Eaters, if given the chance. Dark Arts always interested him, and when someone else took that same interest? They instantly became best friends, because the darker side of magic was actually quite splendid, and clearly the right choice for any wizard or witch. With a nod, Jordan acknowledged Gav's words, before replying to him. "Not a problem mate, take your time and read it. And of course I have, I always read it. Dark magic is in there, stuff that would get us thrown out of Durmstang if we casted the spells. I know them, but casting them is a different story... It is a great read, nonetheless, though Gav."
