Shields and Veils (Lesson 3, 2nd yr) Empty Shields and Veils (Lesson 3, 2nd yr)

Post by Calypso Grunwald Fri May 18, 2012 12:04 pm

Calypso walked into the dark classroom, her footsteps echoing loudly and bouncing off the walls. She winced a little and tried to find her way to a seat. It was pitch black everywhere. 'Lumos' she whispered, taking out her wand.
The wand tip illuminated a bright blue, but she stumbled on her way to the seat. She fell down, the wand cluttering out of her hand. The room was doused into darkness once more.
She swallowed and started to feel her way around with her hands.

Katerina frowned when she walked into the pitch black classroom, sure that there had been a light a few moments before. She had heard a noise- something crashing into something else, or perhaps falling, she wasn't sure- while she was making her way to the class, and tried to see into the dark, wondering if there was anybody there.

Not wanting to call out in case she was attacked, Katerina muttered, "Lumos Maxima." She prepared her wand for a possible attack, but sighed and lowered it when she saw the Slushatel girl on the floor.

As usual Cicero stormed into the classroom, and saw a girl on the floor he gave her a sharp glare, "Get up you patheic child, this is a classroom not a bloody pre-school" he snapped at her he then flipped through a notebook to find his lesson plans for his second years, he quickly skimed over the information then slammed the book on his desk

"Right, memories are basically who you are, and I suspect your all far to weak and useless to realize how to protect your memories, am I correct?" he asked bluntly

Shields and Veils (Lesson 3, 2nd yr) Empty Shields and Veils

Calypso glanced up when a footstep apprached. However, she quickly shielded her eyes with her arm when the bright light dazzled her. She muttered a thanks and got up.
She frowned at the professors word. Must he be so harsh? Why keep the classroom pitch black anyway? She didn't like the way he spoke. Are all professors here like that? They have come here to learn. Why'd they come to school if they were all experts?
Of course she kept her face perfectly smooth and expressionless while kept up her mental arguments.

Katerina moved quickly to her seat and raised an eyebrow when the professor came in, insulting them and calling them weak and useless. Now, she respected professors, but she couldn't stand being called weak by someone who didn't even know her. And, after all, they were there to learn, weren't they?

"Well, professor, not really," she started, as politely as she could, "Professor Lufkin actually did teach me how to protect my memories with a mental barrier during the first lesson."

Cicero glared at the girl who spoke, he then silently walked over to her, his eyes firmly fixed on hers "Oh did she now, well lets see what that half brain bird manged to teach you, Legilimens" Cicero quickly entered her mind without warning

He saw several memories and waited to see if the girl would put up a shield, though Cicero knew that he was going to be ruthless anyway, he had no patience your children nor did he like this job, it was the only place which took him on after his Azakaban sentencing

Shields and Veils (Lesson 3, 2nd yr) Empty Shields and Veils

Post by Calypso Grunwald Sun May 20, 2012 10:43 am

Calypso watched the interaction between the other girl and the professor silently. He looked unlikely to show any mercy.
She tried to remember what she had read about occlumency previously. They said the first step is to get your mind blank, to totally forget all emotions especially negative ones. Calypso decided to try that, maybe it'd keep her mind off the newfound resentment she's feeling towards the professor.

Katerina gulped when the professor entered her mind, with no warning, and did her best to remain focused. She wasn't scared, that was probably what the professor wanted her to be and she knew better than that. There was nothing worth finding in her mind, but she wouldn't let him in, she couldn't.

She concentrated on emptying her mind and only thought of that wall- that black wall. He seemed to be a skilled Legilimens, or else he wouldn't have been teaching Occlumency, so Katerina was unsure if her barrier would hold for long, but she was determinded to keep it strong as much as she could.

Closing her eyes, she concentrated on that barrier- that big, black wall - and tried to imagine the professor hitting that wall. She could feel a headache coming as he entered her mind, but didn't dare let go of that wall.

Cicero saw a black wall which appeared in front of him, he didn't think it would be very strong, so he surged a strong pulse of engery to shatter the wall, it was unnessarily forceful but Cicero was not one to be delicate, he saw the girl interacting with her some friends on the Durmstrang ship

He then withdrew from her mind and looked at her with an unimpressed look "Well that was certainly pathetic" he walked over the over girl "Right lets see if your any better, Legilimens" he quickly entered the girls mind waiting to be stopped by her defenses

Calypso knew that it was her turn. But she didn't know how to block not having attended any of the classes before. But she had read how it felt to be legilimised. The target also revisits the memery with the attacker.
So she forced her mind to keep calm, and chose the memory of getting lost in the dark ally. There wasn't much to see, since she couldn't see anything. She kept replaying that memory again and again, forcing the professor to get stuck in that memory along with her.

He knew it was a bad idea for him to attend a lesson when he was around ten minutes late and most people have probably started their repertoire, but to hell with that. He had promised a certain someone after a dare that he would attend this class for just one lesson, and frankly, he wasn't too scared, though he should be.

"Sorry I'm late, Professor Fairy!" he exclaimed, realizing that from the girls' position that they were in the middle of some sort of dreaded exercise. He also forgot that calling someone 'Professor Fairy' was a bad idea, "whoa... I totally did not see this coming, man. Sorry!"

Cicero could feel the girl trying to bring him along with false memories, he quickly smashed through them, and decided that he would go through her more personal memories and torture her abit with them, he had reached a memory of her hugging her mother he made himself appear in the memory, he was about to cast the killing curse on the girl's mother when he heard an external voice, he quickly withdrew from the girls mind and glared at the boy who had entered

Cicero then walked slowly towards the boy with a cold face, he then jabbed his wand firmly into the boy's chest pushing it forcefully while he spoke

"Never call me that again, it is Professor Faragonda!" he hissed at the boy
