Kendera sat at one of the tables in the Great Hall, posture impeccable. Tense probably would have been just as accurate. Kendera James was always tense, though. It was the way the girl carried out her existence.

It was break, though, as often was the case, Kendera had remained at school. She preferred it that way. The only time her grandmother had her come home during the school year was to force her to go to some stupid pureblood party, or some other useless exercise. Kendera was actually surprised that the old woman had yet to orchestrate making her betrothal to Roman Ritter magically binding. Then, it would be all over the stupid paper, and everyone would know. Kendera still had no idea how to get out of it.

Turning her attention to her meal, the girl continued eating, content to let her thoughts wander as she did so.
