Ninette glanced around the hallway with a bored look. There was nothing to do in the god damn house.

SHe was already grumpy about an assortment of things, and was ready to smash something if she didn't find something good to do.

And her mother wouldn't be happy if she smashed another one of her decorations. Nine wasn't really in the mood to deal with her mother either.

As she walked her eyes set on a door and grinned. Well there must be perks to being nice, mustn't there?

"Ohhh Rousseau," she called opening his door and waltzing right in not bother to knock or look around.

Glancing down at the cello in his hands, Julian sighed softly, glancing up at the book in front of him. He couldn't find anything he really wanted to play. Nada. Nothing.

This entire book was of stuff he could already play. It wasn't a challenge, it was a piece of cake. Suddenly craving cake, he frowned, beginning to put his cello away.

Flipping the book around in his hands, he glanced up at Ninette as she entered. Leaning back against his bed, he put his hands behind his head, "Oh Ninette," he sang, a smile tugging on his lips.

Ninette rolled her eyes flopping on a desk at the corner of the desk. Making herself completely at home, since she actually was at home.

"How's things? You know? Settling in alright, the neighbours not too... snarky are they?"

She grinned innocently, playing with her hair and glancing at the instrument.

    "Ooo, being musical I see."

Watching Ninette for a moment, Julian shrugged, "Oh, I'm setting in fine. It - it's nice here." Nodding, he rubbed his hands together absentmindedly, "Your house is comfy. It's all homelike," shrugging again, he smirked, "And my room is pretty awesome."

Tilting his head at her, he repressed a smile, "No more snarky than they were before. Why?" he asked jokingly, "Trying to cut down on your snarkiness?"

Following her gaze down to his cello, he nodded, "Yep, musical me. But I'm bored of my book," he glanced down at the book as he spoke, "so I'm not really being all that musical."

Ninette smirked, "Of course not, just making sure you have no desire to run off to tell Mama that I am - She'd definitly favour you over me, and then we'd all be in trouble."

She rolled her eyes and started looking over her nails. The paint on them was starting to chip. She was going to need to get them touched up soon.

"Well then, you can use this spare time to amuse me."

"Of course." he nodded, the very hint of sarcasm in his voice, "I'm so very amazing, all parents like me better than their own children. It's a certified fact."

Frowning slightly, he hid it by glancing down at his cello, propping up his head in his hands.

Raising an eyebrow, he glanced up at Ninette, tilting his head slightly. "And how," Julian asked slowly, "do you want me to amuse you?"

Ninette rolled here eyes, "Don't flatter yourself Rousseau, you'd just get benifit of the doubt because you're the 'Guest'"

She shrugged and started fiddling with the items the boy had on his desk, looking at them with interest for a moment before deaming them boring and tossing them aside.

"Oh I dont' know..." she shrugged, "Tell me a story... just talk; I'm sure you have some amusing gossip in there somewhere; something to take my mind off how bored I am... or how wrong it is that grandmama's sleeping with Skydancer." She shivered delicately, "I really never needed that image in my head. Makes class a tad bit awkward really."

She was saying all these things causually as if they were just facts of life. Which they were to her. She had no idea she hadn't told Julian anything about it, nor that he'd really care.

"The best guest you've ever had," Julian corrected, shaking his head at Ninette's mistake.

"Hey," he frowned as she moved around all the things on his desk. "you have to put that all back. Or I'll go and mess up your room. You'll walk in and think you're in the wrong house."

Beginning to think up something, he turned his gaze back to her, spluttering, "Wait, wait, what?" Swallowing hard, he shuddered, pointing wildly at the blond, "Are - for real? Your grandmother and - and - but - ewwwwww." Shuddering again, he rubbed his eyes, "Oh God, I have mental images now. Terrible mental images."

"Oh Rousseau," she drawled slowly, "I'm not messing anything up. I'm merely investigating. And you're merely over reacting... but then again, what else is knew?"

Ninette raised an eyebrow at the boy for a moment, unsure what he was sputtering about, "Oh... did you not know... I could have swarn Grandmama..."

    She shrugged.

"Yes, but unfortunatly it is a fact. She loves him and everything.... or so I've been told."

"Well," he frowned at her, though his eyes sparkled playfully, "investigate with your eyes, not your hands." Pulling himself up onto his bed, he swung his legs, glancing at them for a moment before looking up at Ninette, "I don't overreact," he huffed, shaking his head, "Gimme an example of when I 'overreacted'."

Moaning, he shook his head, lying down flat on his back, "Well, apparently she hasn't gotten around to telling me. I bet she's been too busy - noooo," he rubbed at his eyes again, muttering to himself about mental images.

"Why?" he asked, sitting up, crinkling his nose, "He's Skydancer. He's just -" shrugging, he waved his arms, "I bet your grandfather is rolling around in his grave at this very moment. But," he said slowly, sighing extravagantly, "if she's happy, then I guess I should be happy. But the idea of them makes me want to throw up."

Ninette snorted, "Uhh, how about right now, uhh over the Christmas party thing. I mean ]really it wasn't that bad. You started to act like suddenly the whole worlds was against you. And honsetly, most people have moved on by now haven't they?"

"Well I mean... he is Skydancer," Ninette shrugged, "I can't fault her on that one - he's got a certain..." She smirked and nodded her head, "Can't say I don't approve on that front. I just wish..."

    She shrugged.

Shaking his head, Julian shrugged, "If I love potioned you to kiss - oh, I don't know, let's go with, uh, Drea or something - I'd never hear the end of it." he frowned, "Wait, I'm not overreacting at all. I'm just - stating the honest truth."

Groaning, he covered his ears, shaking his head, "I'm just going to forget that you ever said that." Pulling his hands away from his head, Julian looked at her curiously, "You wish......" he trailed off, motioning with his hands for her to continue.

"I don't know... be Drea could kiss pretty good," Ninette smirked leaning back, refusing to confirm or deny his statment. "She definitly looks like she knows what she's doing. Got one hell of a backbone that one does, behind that stutter. Who knew."

"Problem Rousseau," she smirked again at his reaction. She was enjoying herself far more than she thought she would. "What you just don't want to think about Skydancer all..." she trialed off figuring that little was better in making her point. If the boys reaction was less than she wanted she could always elaborate later.

She blinked slightly at his prompting, "Hmm?" Part of her had actually not been paying attention, another part of her was intentionally avoiding saying what she had been going to say.

Sighing softly, he shook his head. OK, so that hadn't went the way he'd expected. "Oh, she does." Julian smirked, "if only we'd known years ago. She could've been useful."

Shuddering, he pulled at the sleeves of his t-shirt absentmindedly, "It's creepy," he muttered, wrinkling his nose, "he's a professor. And old."

Raising an eyebrow at her, Julian tilted his head slightly, "You were saying," he said slowly, "something that you wished about this whole Skydancer slash Grandetta affair."

Ninette raised her eyebrow, "You seem to know a fair bit about Montgomery - just when did you two get so... chummy?"

She looked at him appraisingly as she thought about it. She'd seen the way the girl spoke to him.... there was just...

    Something.

"Well I'm just saying he's pretty fit, for an old guy."

Her gaze slackened slightly, "Oh was I? You know me always just..."

She bit her lip and looked out the window. Her mind jumping through possibilities.

"Love just seems so.... useless... Just asking for hurt."

"Oh you know," Julian shrugged, before grinning wickedly, leaning forward, "things happened over the summer."

Shaking his head amusedly at her, he rolled his eyes. "Why am I not surprised that you'd say that?"

Glancing at her for a moment, he bit his lip as he pushed himself backwards to lean against the wall. The idea of love was making him think of Monique and he'd rather get beat up than think of her. Rubbing at his cheek absentmindedly, he closed his eyes, "That's what love does. You fall in love with someone, and maybe they'll care about you. But then, there's that chance - that great fucking chance - that they won't care and they'll just take your heart and break it into tiny little pieces."

"Because deep down, Rousseau, you know its true."

She frowned at his words, and inclinde her head slightly, "And even when they don't mean to.... they manage to anyway."

"It's only fair, Ninette." Shrugging nonchalantly, he grinned at her, his eyes sparkling. "This way we're even."

Gagging, Julian shook his head, "God, no. Deep down, I'm very, very disturbed." Shaking his head sorrowfully, he added, "I just might have to be put into therapy because of this," and about a million other things. "And it'll be all your fault."

Nodding, he crossed his arms, "Exactly. Some people just don't get it. Eventually, sooner or later, something is going to happen and whether they mean it to or not, they're going to hurt m - other people." shifting slightly, embarrassed by his little slip up, he continued, "Knowing that they won't mean it doesn't make it any better."

Meeting her gaze, he added, "And safer. Much, much safer."

"Well I do try," she smirked as she pushed herself off the desk, walking slowly back the way she came.

She frowned slightly at his slip up, before the expression as gone and her smirked was back in place. She stopped walking and leaned against the door frame looking at him.

"Well, I'm just a heartless bitch," she drawled slowly, "so you can rest assured that I'll hurt you anyway - so, if you're prepared, I can't hurt you and we'll just be hunky dory."

"Well, stop trying so hard." Julian crossed his arms, smirking up at her.

Mentally cursing at himself for his slip up, he glanced down at his lap, biting his lip before glancing back at the blonde, "Thanks for the heads up," he said shakily before clearing his voice and smirking, "but I'm a heartless bastard, it won't hurt that much."

"Oh but then what would I do with my time?"

She turned over her shoulder and gave him a slight smirk, one that was softer than most of her others due to the gaze in her eyes.

She was fond of Rousseau, even if she wouldn't admit it.

    "Good."

Giving a quick wink and a wave of her fingers she disappeared out the door, and wandered away.
