Weightless | Fifth Years

Karma was perched on her seat, her short hair falling slightly into her eyes as she contemplated the desks in front of her. They were all in neat rows, almost asking for it.

Her uniform was currently MIA, and instead she was wearing a figure hugging leather jacket, black pants, and black boots. Her fingers unconciously played with the sleeves as they fell over her palms, rolling her shoulders as she kept her eyes on the row in front of her, balancing on the balls of her feet, her boots not hindering her in the least. "On your marks...."

She grinned, flashing a bit of fang as her entire body tensed. She whistled lowly, raising her wand slightly and smirking. "Get set..."

"GO!" She exploded forward, her boots barely touching the desk as she gained speed over top of them, then she was at the last one, springing upward and saying the familiar incantation.

Her gravity disappeared.

With a laugh, she spun upward, floating easily toward the ceiling before pushing off that and zooming from one wall to the other. She spun in an easy circle, did a loop-de-loop or two, and continued her merry hopping from one corner to the other.

For the briefest moment, her feet rested on the ground, and she was just standing there, looking upward. Then, with a slight shift in weight, she was floating upward, humming contentedly. She lounged backward in the air, resting her arms behind her head and crossing her ankles, floating around at about chest level.

Grumbling, Kait walked in, though the grumbling quickly ended when she saw a floating girl. "Uh... this isn't freaky at all..." Kait told the girl, raising her eyebrows. The girl was somewhat familiar, but Kait didn't know her name.

Sitting down in a random desk, she placed her feet on the desk and waited for the Professor.

"I care so much about your opinion..." Karma said in monotone before placing her feet on the ground and shooting upward, leaning against the wall above the door with one foot on the wall and the other... not. She crossed her arms over her chest and surveyed the room, amused by the view from up there. She tensed, ready to pounce on the next person to walk into the room.

Lynx entered the classroom and noticed there was only one of the Slytherin duo there, he was quite pleased, he also noticed a student he hadn't seen before, he walked up to the front of his desk his day was already off to a brillant start, he didn't even let the fact that Karma was out of uniform bother him

"Afternoon class, today we shall be learning how to transfigure a feather into a cloak, now I know your probably thinking this is an easy spell, but believe me its a lot tricker than it sounds. So firstly lets practice the wand movement, you hold your wand firmly and give it three sharp swishes in a clockwise direction"

Lynx then nodded at the students "Ok so go ahead and try that first"

"hmm... Didn't ask you to care didn't I?" Kait replied, without blinking. The red hair girl looked up and almost groaned, she hated the fact that she missed the first semester. All because of that crazy lunatic, Kait is now behind in school, and she has to redo her fifth year.

Pulling out her wand, Kait did the wand movement. It was a bit sloppy, but at that moment, Kait didn't really care.

Lynx observed the students practicing the movements, he noticed one girl in particular was not as precise as she should be

"Ah Miss Grayson, would you please pay more attention to your wand work, I can not stress enough how important precision is in Transfiguration"

Karma checked herself at the last moment as she almost pounced on the professor, instead deciding to push off from her place at the doorway and float down onto her desk. Slipping back into her seat, she loosened her grip on her wand and copied his wand movements exactly, quite used to the drill by now.

She cocked her head to the side. "Is there any specific fabric the cloak is to be made of?" She asked curiously, all but ignoring the other girl. She paused in her wand movements, the different kinds of fabric flashing through her head. Cotton would probably be one of the most difficult... there were a lot of fibers...

Rolling her eyes, Kait paid more attention to her wand work. The red head didn't feel like getting sent out of the classroom for effort. Why should she put effort into a class that she was going to end up repeating? But the spell was useful...

Finally getting the movement right, Kait replaced her feet, and waited for the next instructions while ignoring the other girl.

Lynx was surprized when Karma asked a question perhaps the pressure and reality of having to pass her OWLs had set in "Ah thats a good question Miss Black, but generally the cloak is made out of a very light material almost like silk"

After watching the students practice the spell Lynx decided that they were ready to attemp the spell, he then walk around and gave the students a feather "Alright class you seem to have a handle on the wand movements so lets put it all into practice"

Arsen was late. But he couldn't seem to bring himself to care anymore. Things were changing and he didn't like it one bit. With a sigh he pulled out his wand and entered the classroom to get it over and done with.

He couldn't be dealing with people today, so the quicker the lesson went the better he'd feel.

Lynx looked up at the door as he saw the SLytherin boy enter the classroom, Lynx shook his head and looked back at the boy "Your late Mr Salvator, don't make a habbit of it, you'll have to get Miss Black to bring you up to speed"

Lynx then looked at the rest of the class " Ok so the rest you get practicing with the spell, I look foward to seeing your transfigurations"
