Personality:
Acadia is an interesting blend of her parents’ personality traits. She inherited her father’s fiery temper and diligent work ethic, but inherited her mother’s soft heart and musical tendencies. Acadia is down-to-earth in her interactions with people. She gives friends her full attention and does not bandy about with whimsical ideas. Her no-nonsense interior doesn’t mean she’s a boring girl in the least. She can’t help but smile almost wherever she goes. If she is not with friends, she is almost always with her guitar. Music is never far from Acadia’s lips. She often gets warning looks in classes for humming to herself. She is frequently seen in various locations throughout the Beauxbatons campus, singing and playing her guitar as if she hadn’t a care in the world.
But Acadia certainly does have cares in the world—many, many of them! Her friends are invaluable to her, to the point of near obsession. Her studies, though secondary to the people she loves, are vital in preserving her self-worth. Acadia, of wealthy wizarding heritage, is not stingy. She gives and gives of her money and time without any regard to her own well-being. Her temper is quite a match for her graciousness, however. If someone gets on her bad side, they really get on her bad side. She will not hesitate to duel someone at a moment’s notice for a mild to moderate offense.
Loving and brave, musical, stubborn, and a bit neurotic, Acadia provides a startling awakening to all who cross her path.

Overall history: Acadia Aisling O’Callaghan barely survived the first month of her life. Born in Galway, Ireland, she grew an immediate affinity to the sea. Her father walked her up and down the nearby shore every day, starting with the day she was released from the hospital. One day, Patrick snatched her out of her crib after a particularly difficult day’s work and a maddening argument with his wife. His temper, always dangerous, had reached new heights, and Acadia’s mother tried to stop her husband from walking out the door with little Acadia. However, there was no halting Patrick’s raging ritual.
That stormy night, blood surging like never before, Patrick took his daughter out to the sea and walked along the foamy shore. The baby wailed in her dad’s arms, wondering what to make of the raging sounds around her, including the tumult of angry words falling from her father’s mouth. With one arm, Patrick held his child, pulling out his wand with the other. After glancing every which way and seeing no muggle, he prepared to release a surge of wrathful spells into the tempestuous waters. A second later, he collapsed.
Patrick survived the heart attack and Acadia survived the fall, thanks to Juliette anxiously following her husband, considering the accumulative factors too dangerous to avoid interference. After that, Patrick multiplied his efforts to control his anger. The result was a better father, husband, and even Auror. It still pains him to see the same flares of temper in Acadia.
Patrick, Irish wizard through-and-through, found it no surprise when he was accepted to Hogwarts. Juliette, a French Beauxbatons witch, had come to Hogwarts her first year to visit her sister who was a competitor in the Tri-Wizard tournament. It was there that the two met. Though Patrick was two years older, the two became instant friends. They corresponded between schools via O.W.L for a full four years before Patrick came to surprise Juliette at the end of term. There they began a fifteen-year-engagement, delayed by about every situation imaginable, including Patrick’s ten-year capture by some notorious Dark wizards.
The couple finally married, and Acadia was born nine months later. The family settled in Galway, Ireland. By the time Acadia was five, she was accustomed to a luxurious lifestyle. Patrick and Juliette both obtained a considerable income from their respectable jobs. Juliette would have spoiled her only child to bits had her stern husband not acted as a counter-balance. When she became conscious of all the money her parents had, she did all she could for those less fortunate financially.
At nine years of age, the O'Callaghan's moved from Ireland to France. Acadia hated leaving Ireland, and still has bitter feelings about it. Acadia grew up primarily around a wizarding community. To this day, her interaction and familiarity with Muggles has been scarce. Unfortunately in childhood, many of her magical “friends” liked the things Acadia owned more than Acadia herself. The experience of jealousy and judgment due to her rich family became a painful thorn Acadia began to despise. Hardly anyone sought to see beyond the Galleons into Acadia’s very real and very affectionate heart.
From a very young age, Acadia’s main preoccupation was nurturing her musical talents. Long before magical instances occurred according to her horrendous temper, her gentle voice and soothing guitar resounded in the house. She has a high-end collection of guitars, but her first full-size acoustic remains her favorite. This is the one she takes to Beauxbatons. Speaking of Beauxbatons, well, Acadia does not approve, to say the least. She was hoping for an acceptance letter from Hogwarts and was quite devastated when she received one from her mother’s alma mater instead. In her rage, Acadia ripped, burned, and virtually destroyed the first twelve letters she received. She calmed down, then, and accepted her fate.
Now, Hogwarts has become an elusive dream in Acadia’s mind. She believes more in the training of Beauxbatons students every day, but she will always, deep inside, long to attend the Academy she’d always dreamed of: Hogwarts.
