Personality: 
Marianne's a pretty upbeat, happy sort of girl. Kind and caring, she sees the best in all people. She thinks that all people have some good in them, it's just harder to see in some people than others. She enjoys partying, and thinks life should be well spent and lived to it's fullest.

An animal lover to the extreme, she is very compassionate and will break rules if she believes that what she's doing is right. When challenged, all the kindness that she has evaporates, and one will find a very formidable opponent. When Marianne puts her mind to something, she will stop at nothing to attain her goal. 

About to become a professor for the 2056-57 school year, she is rather nervous, especially around the older students, as she vaguely remembers them from when she herself was a student. And out of habit, she continues to call the faculty professor instead of by their first names.

Overall history:

 Gilles and Sophie, her parents, had grown up together in Marseilles. Next doors neighbours, Sophie, a Muggle, had been mesmerized by Gilles' performance of amazing and incredible feats, even though the Muggleborn child had no idea why he was able to move objects. When he received his letter from Beauxbatons, he was awestruck and a little scared that he would lose his best friend. But the two stayed friends, and halfway through his fifth year, the two began dating. And when he was 23, he proposed to Sophie.

The two were married three weeks later in a lavish wedding in the French countryside. Ten years later, their first child and Marianne's older sister, Maryse was born. But the marriage of Sophie and Gilles Delancy was deteriorating. The two barely spoke anymore and in a last ditch attempt to save their dying romance, Marianne was born three years later. 

But even a beautiful newborn daughter couldn't change the fact that the couple was no longer in love. When Marianne was a few months old, her parents divorced. The two stayed good friends, and Marianne and Maryse split their time between their parents' homes. 

Though Marianne was never truly alone, as both her parents and sister showered her with love, there were moments when the girl felt quite lonely. But when she was five and playing in her mother's garden, she found a sick cat. Instantly feeling a sort of connection with the animal, she took the cat inside and begged her mother to let her keep it. This was the beginning of a love affair with all animals. 

When her mother moved on and fell in love with the Muggle Sebastian Wischard, Marianne was seven. At first apprehensive of the man, she began to slowly accept him and his young daughter into her family until she began to call Alix her own sister. 

Sorted into Prideux once she went to Beauxbatons, it shocked everyone, as they expected her with her kind nature to be in Valée. Marianne greatly enjoyed her years at Beauxbatons. With her bubbly personality, she made many friends and in her later years, received a lot of male attention. However, she turned them all down, as she wasn't attracted to them and in the process slowly came to terms with her sexuality, though she only told her best friends and family. 

After she graduated from Beauxbatons, she spent a year in Romania with dragons. She enjoyed it very much, as she found the animals so majestic and amazing. But as she couldn't be tied down to one thing for very long, she set out to become a magical zoologist. She spent the next three years doing that. When she heard that there was an opening for the Magical Beings Professor at Beauxbatons, she jumped at the chance.
