It'll have to drown me Empty It'll have to drown me

A gray snake slithered around plates, cups, and set out silverware, all ready for the Breakfast crowd in the morning. It was amazing on how the snake could avoid touching the said objects, but Kait was way past being shocked at the things snakes could do.

The snake paused at her mini-marathon and took a look at the prone figure of the Hrabrost. She was was sprawled on her back on the stone floors, staring up at the ceiling. The snake didn't bother looking at what the girl might be staring at; she knew the Hrabrost too well nowadays that she knew that it was nothing.

Kait felt a pair of eyes, and looked at Gray Moon. Gray Moon hissed softly, and continued her journey. Brown eyes followed her, not blinking. She yearned to get inside that mind, to see how a snakes mind worked. For such interesting creatures, they were really misjudged.

Roman strolled into the Great Hall, feeling more energetic than he usually did. The boy smiled as he realized that he was one of the first ones at breakfast. Finally, he'd actually have some time alone. It's not that he minded people, but one could only stand so much social pressure in one day.

The boy walked towards his house's table, noticing as he did so someone lying on the ground. Considering where he was, it wasn't really all that unusual, so he kept walking a little further in order to find a spot on the table. He stopped as an flash of movement caught his eye.

Roman edged closer to the table, his eyes scanning the whole area for the source of the movement. They landed on a long, glistening tube of scales, and he instinctively shuffled backwards with a stifled yell. "Kait..." he said slowly, his words directed towards the figure on the floor, "Why is there a snake on the table?"

A housemate is here, Gray Moon hissed softly, as the great doors creaked. Kaitlen blinked slowly and looked towards the windows. It was morning? Last time she checked it was midnight...

Deciding to ignore her housemate, whom she only had passing hello's with before, the girl closed her eyes wanting to fall asleep now. The past hours her mind had been in a zone. The zone didn't let her realize that her eyes just wanted to close, and stay closed forever.

"Because there is, and Gray Moon feels like being there." Geezus, did nobody think these days? Was Gray Moon going to slither up the table, because she didn't want to?

Turning her head slightly, brown eyes lingered on the boys face before looking at the amused snake.

Oh goody, a human frightened of me. We're going to have lots of fun, my dear boy.

Roman frowned, watching the snake slither and hiss. He shrugged, having gotten over his initial shock, "As long as it doesn't get in my food... or bite me." Giving the snake one last cautious look, he sat down at the table.

"Wait..." he said, after running Kait's sentence through his head a few times, "Did you seriously name your snake Gray Moon?" He turned around in his seat to face her, a bemused expression on his face, "Do you have any idea what a waste that is? I'm disappointed in you."

"I mean," his smile grew as he started to get into his argument, "Just think of all the potential bad puns you've ignored. Salazar Slithering, Wormstrang, Expelliarmhiss," He started to count them on his fingers, then gasped, "Oh!! Hissmaster Mousesnack!" Roman leaned back in his seat, more than satisfied, "Am I a genius or what?"

Was he serious? Was he freaking serious?

Kait and Gray Moon stared at the boy, disbelief written on their faces. Puns? Why would she name Gray Moon, Wormstrang? Hissmaster Mousenack? He was insane! Well, more than her. But he was still insane!

Oh, Kait will have to now calm down Gray Moon. Somebody kill her.

Quickly getting up with surprising agility, the girl jumped in front of Roman, ignoring the glass shards digging into her feet. Gray Moon... calm, Kait hissed, pushing away Insanity. Insanity had the worst timing ever.

Gray Moon was coiled up, hissing angrily, eyes glowing with anger. The Greek knew she wouldn't be able to stop the snake from biting, but at least she could stop the venom.

Don't bite with venom, Kait hissed, slowly walking towards the snake. Better yet, don't bite at all. Kneeling, she held out her arm for Gray Moon to slither up. But Gray Moon ignored the arm, and moved quickly towards the boy.

Before Kait could yell out, Gray Moon had lunged and bite the boy in the upper part of his right arm. Shit. Shit. Shit. Shit.

"HOLY!" The Greek shrieked, immeditatly seeing that her snake did not bite with venom. Thank god. Thank god.... "She did not bite with venom, thankfully." Kait spoke in a panicked tone, as she inspected the bite. "She didn't even bite too deep. Your lucky. Though you might have some scaring." If it was up to Kait, she would have let it scared. Snake scars must look cool.

Roman glanced from Kait, to the snake, and then back again. He gave a small, uncomfortable laugh, "That was a joke..." He frowned, the silence making him more and more uneasy, "Okay, so maybe it wasn't very funny... but at least-"

"WHOA!!!" Roman's hands dug into the bench's soft wood as he nearly leapt out of his seat in surprise, "What are you doi-aaaAAH!" He had barely had time to register the girl jumping on the table before a stabbing pain appeared on his arm.

"Ouch..." he grumbled, once he had gotten over his shock enough to speak, "What is wrong with the girls in this school, huh? You're all nuts!"

He pressed his hand against the bite, pushing against it until the skin around it turned white. That's what you were supposed to do, right? To stop the bleeding? If he ruined this shirt his mother might just kill him.

The boy shook his head, a small smile appearing on his face, "As cool as a scar like that would look, all I really want right now is some breakfast." He eyed the snake one more time before turning to the mess on the table, "...Wow." He smirked at Kait, "You know, I'm not cleaning that up. I am injured, after all."

"Just... uh... Ugh. Just, be careful about your jokes with a temperamental snake next time," Kait snarled, a bit ruffled up that her snake almost killed somebody. It took her almost seven years to calm her snake down enough to bring her out in public with her often. The Hrabrost was not about to let all of that go down the drain.

Looking at him lazily, Kait narrowed her eyes. "Are you a wizard or not?," then sat down to eat the undamaged food with undamaged utensils. Shoving pieces of bacon in her mouth, she ignored the boy sitting across from her for a few minutes. Gray Moon was curled at her feet, calming down while hissing curses under her breath.
