The Struggle makes us hunger.

Dark clouds covered the weak sunlight. The air practically tasted of rain; a thunderstorm was coming. It was anticipated though, Kait knew the Russia Air well enough to know it was brewing for days.

The brunette called the Russia soil her home now. It was Greece, the soil with ancient history attached to it. It was the history that fascinated Kait, along with it simple ways.

Sitting cross legged on some bleachers, Kait listened for some hissing. Almost out of her hearing capability, she heard the sound of Gray Moon hissing pleasantly as she finished off a hunt. There was plenty of mice here for the ever hungry snake.

Hearing thunder off in the distance, Gray Moon slithered towards Kait. We should get going, The pleased snake told her as she wrapped herself around the girls legs, getting close to the human heat that Kait possessed.

Not now.

Damian pulled his jacket about him, more to fix the way it rested across his shoulder than to ward of the chill which had begun to seep into the air. He did a fair amount of wandering, these days. Mostly in Hogsmeade or Diagon Alley and London. His trips to Azorat were more rare. It wasn't that the boy disliked the city, the other locations were just more convenient.

He paused at the entrance to the Arena, interest drawn by the use of parseltongue. The boy leaned back against the edge of the doorway, gaze quickly taking in the stranger.

"Cool snake," he remarked.

Ignoring the boy for a second, Kait just continued staring at nothing. Was she up for a conversation? She wasn't sure. Kait might have an insane moment again- she hadn't spoke to anyone since yesterday. Since she walked away from Alexa.

Kait... just talk, Gray moon grumbled, slithering towards the boy. The snake curled herself around one of his legs, and rubbed her head. Not up to argue with her snake, Kait looked around.

"Thanks." She wasn't sure what else to say. When did she get so anti-social? She used to party all the time, make a lot of new friends. And enemies. Kait used to have this huge ego, that couldn't be contained.

But now...

Rubbing her forehead, she turned herself around. "I think I saw you back at Hogwarts, when I was there," Kait spoke in careful English. She hardly spoke it this summer, so she had to make sure she was saying everything right. Her accent now only contained Russian, no more the sort of Greek, Russian, and British one.

Damian reached down to lightly stroke the snake's head. "You did," he remarked simply. He'd seen her, even though she had been a year ahead of him. He was also certain she had had more than one snake, but he elected not to mention that.

"It must have been weird, going to a different school," Damian said. "Bet you're glad to be back at Durmstrang." He knew if he had gone somewhere else for a year, he'd have missed Hogwarts a lot. Hogwarts was home to him - literally - so he couldn't imagine seeing any place else the same.
