Personality: Being born into an average family, Gwen had the makings of being quite a remarkable girl, due to her intellectual thinking and enthusiasm. She may seem like a typical woman, but that is not the case at all on the inside. She is someone who doesn't believe in love and is perfectly content on being by herself. She is stubborn, serious at first impression and awkward, but gets comfortable around the person after a while. She doesn't know how to be polite or sweet, just blunt and slightly eccentric.

Overall history: Gwen was born into an average family and had the potential of leading a normal life, until the day her uncle was murdered. Being there at the wrong place and at the wrong time, she was accused of the crime when she was eighteen years old. The people in her town had already hated her family, and this incident fuelled their anger. They murdered her parents in front of her and banned her from the town.

Having become a refuge, she escaped to the deeper part of France, until she came across a stranger who decided to help her out. The stranger named Arya, got drunk along the way while driving and handed the car keys to Gwen. But after a few minutes, they were involved in an accident, during which Arya was killed instantly. Gwen woke up in the hospital, and immediately felt responsible for the other woman's death. After a few days, she decided to visit Arya's family and let them what happened. But they thought that she was Arya, for the simple reason that they resembled each other and that the family hadn't seen Arya in nearly ten years, since she had run away. Sensing the family's joy, she did not have it in her to break their hearts, and so, she became Arya Nathaniel.

The Nathaniels being a Muggle family, still has no idea of Gwen's magical abilities nor her real identity. At some point, she had a crush on her 'brother', but realized it wasn't real, and that's when she knew she was interested only in girls, another secret which the Nathaniels aren't aware of.
