Transfiguration 4th Year (Lesson 3)

Birds to Books

This spell turns birds into books. The thickness and general display of the book is not only just determined by the casters skill but also by the type of bird. Students will have the choice of three birds; Hawk, Dove, Owl. Each will produce a very different looking book. To cast this spell you hold your wand firmly then swish your wand in an anticlockwise direction three times while saying the incantation "Avis Libro"

Homework Task
Students will be required to write a 4 sentence discussion as to why they believe the book that they transfigured from a bird has that particular appearence

Quinn walked into professor Miller's class and saw that he was already there. Quinn sighed and took an empty seat and grabbed a dove and her wand. She studied the dove for a moment, this was going to be a little difficult. She swished her wand anitclockwise three times and spoke. "Avis libro".

She watched as the dove changed into a hard covered book. "Hm, not bad" Quinn said.

Casey walked into class and saw animals lined up, birds this time. "Can we stop Transfiguring living stuff?" she asked no one in general. "I feel bad doing it." She picked up an owl gently, placing on her desk. "Acis Libro," she said in a commanding voice, watching the bird become a thick, slightly worn, old tome. Fascinated, she opened the cover, peering at the seemingly endless information written in a tiny, cramped hand. "Wow..." she murmmered.

(OOC: Uh, Quinn? It's the other way around. We start with a bird.)

Quinn heard someone come in and looked to see Casey. Quinn gave a wave and a smile and watched as Casey asked why they couldn't stop with the whole turning live animals to objects, which is what Quinn had been wondering a little bit but didn't want to complain. Quinn watched as Casey was successful with the assignment.

Jamie walked into the class not really caring if she was on time or late. She looked at who was here and waved at Casey and decided to sit alone. She took an empty seat and did what she had to. Jamie grabbed a hawlk and grabbed her wand. She looked into its eyes and Jamie was amused. This was an ugly looking bird. Jamie swished her wand and spoke the words she needed to. "Avis Libro".

Jamie watched it slowly turn into a book and shrugged. Her job was done for that time being.
