Viva la Revolution Empty Viva la Revolution

Post by Nia Wed Oct 17, 2012 3:09 pm

Ksenia felt a growing unrest in the air as she looked around, remaining partly hidden by one of the walls on the grand plaza. Many people moved around the plaza, most of them noticing the growing tension. The witch smirked slightly as she watched them. She was glad that she had come here. So many people to watch, so many of them squirming under the pressure.

Her head to turned to her left slightly as she heard a woman's voice, louder than the others trying to gain some control over the crowd. How beautiful it was. Something like that could never be controlled by such people. That was one of the place where inferiority could be seen with the naked eye.

Orange rays of the setting sun streamed in through the large windows, basking the interior in an almost bloody light. Beauty could take many forms, as it seemed.

Viva had always been a favorite, during this month, anyway. Her cheek length electric blue hair and bright violet eyes somehow managed to match her army green fatiques, the white tank top showing through the unzippered top. Her lips were painted cherry red and her combat boots made the most delightful sound as she stood on top of the ordinate fountain, yelling slanders at the line of policemen behind their riot shields a block over.

"We will not be silenced! We will reign supreme!" There was a megaphone now, sending her voice echoing over the crowd. Their restlessness brought a cheer from the twenty or so people her age skattered around her, some with more reasonable hair colors, most without. They threw waterballoons filled with flour, sending up white clouds as the Russian's voice continued. The poliece were coughing, banging their batons against their flour smeared riot shields and advancing.

With a cry, Viva picked up a bag of flour and hurled it, taking out a policeman.

    The crowd went wild.

The Slushatel coughed as a loose waterballoon smashed into the wall about a meter away from her causing a cloud of flour to materialize itself very close to her. "What is this," she muttered to herself, as she waved the flour off her clothes.

"You! Get over here!" A male voice yelled at her and she was being pulled in by a not so gentle grip towards the other people her age. "Let go off me!" she snapped at the police man, shocked, having no idea what to do. What the hell did he want from her. The man, who was barely any older than she was herself shoved some flour into her hands causing almost the entire front of her shirt to be covered in it. "What do you think you are doing?" she snapped, her anger growing, as she tried with any success to clean the white flour off herself all the while the others rioted around her.

Viva la Revolution Empty Re: Viva la Revolution

Post by Bonnie Clyde Wed Oct 17, 2012 10:52 pm

It was something to behold, the chaos. The way bodies could be transformed into an army by a few simple words. How flour could be made into a weapon. How simple neglect could bubble and stretch and grow into a full on riot.

They were rushing them now, their orderly rows battered and painted with flour. Viva knew how bad it was, inhaling the stuff.

    Finally, one of them snapped.

The police officer lerched forward, slamming his baton down on a kid with flour on his hands. "Police Brutality!" She yelled, and more flour flew. She was cackling into the microphone now, feeding on the chaos. Living on it. Thriving.

It took nearly an hour to get them under control, more and more students picking up the flour bombs when it seemed the police finally had them under control, they lost their leg up. She was cuffed and placed in a holding van, shoved inside by a rioter and left there. It wasn't long bevore someone else was shoved in there with her. Viva's short blue hair was mussed, flour had colored half of her white in random splotches, but her violet eyes sparkled, and she was nearly laughing.

"Welcome, friend." She greeted the other girl, her Russian accent thick. "How have you faired in this glorious day of revolution?"

"What the fuck," Ksenia muttered in shock and coughed as she ended up with another flour cloud consuming her head. "hold this!" Another girl yelled at her as she threw a box of those balloons at her. The Slushatel had no choice but to hold up the heavy box, stumbling, as she tried to regain some balance. Her mind was dazed and she had a hard time comprehending what was happening around her for the next hour. People were getting arrested and as it was turning out, she was going to be one of those people.

"Let go of me, you bastard! I did not do anything!" she snarled at the policeman who was dragging hr outside and towards a van.

The man did not say anything in return, only tightening his already bruising grip around her arm. "Don't think you are going to get away with this!" she yelled at them as they slammed the door of the van shut in her face, leaving her inside with the girl who started it all. "You! Just who do you think you are! What gives you the right to drag unsuspecting people into your mess!" she snarled at the girl.

Viva yawned, opening her arms. "I did no such thing." She reasoned. "I simply spoke. If you did not wish to be involved, you needed only walk away." Shrugging her shoulders, Viva tilted her head back, gazing at the metal ceiling of the van. "If your curiosity for the crowd had not proceeded over your self preservation, you would not be here."

Her violet eyes closed, and she seemed to drift into a deep sort of meditation, even as the van rumbled to life and moved beneath them. "They're taking us to holding." She murmured, almost to herself. "They will keep us until someone comes to get us, or a week passes. That's the longest they can stretch our charges. We will be long gone by then."

"What sort of idiocy convinced that you that starting that riot was a smart idea? Or was it just your way to have fun? Wouldn't surprise me. You have the maturity level of a ten year old," Ksenia snapped at the girl as she dusted off the flour off her clothes.

"Excuse me?" she asked as she looked up at the other girl. "You are just a common criminal," she scoffed with disgust. She shook her head slightly. "Why on earth would I be going anywhere with you?"

"You have your job, I have mine. If a rich man wants college students to provoke a bunch if cops, and is willing to pay good money for it, why, who am I to tell him otherwise?" She yawned again. "You are awfully short sighted for someone with your history, you know." Running her fingers through her short blue hair, a smirk playing over her lips.

"A common criminal. Insulting. I'm a very well paid criminal." Her eyes sparkled impishly. "Technically, I'm more inside the law than you and your boyfriend are. Or are you engaged now? I can't keep track. We don't care that much."

The intensity of Ksenia's glare didn't diminish as the other girl spoke. "Forgive for not being used to being shoved around by the muggle police!" she snapped splaying her hands out, before turning away from the girl and closing her eyes. This was giving her a headache.

"You are still a criminal," she muttered, almost to herself, her eyes closed. "I do not work on the streets. These commoners are like a disease. The only thing you can do here is what you are doing. Creating distractions, mass murder and perhaps a handful of other things."

"Not working on the streets is a great disadvantage for you, personally." She pointed out smoothly. "Without a first hand account, you will never know what is really happening. There are agencies that exist soley for your 'informants' to send the wrong information. Nothing is ever what it seems. Someone with your almost-status in the mafia should know that." She yawned, running a hand through her bright blue hair. Her violet eyes swept the containment vehicle they were currently in, and she had to fight a smirk. If being detained wasn't part of the plan, she would have been out of there faster than little miss 'Sokol' could have blinked.

"The commoners." She repeated, fighting a laugh. "So you're one of those types. Loki above, Ksenia, you're nearly hopeless." Tilting her head back, she let a demeaning laugh fill the air around them, before taking a deep breath. "No wonder, much more makes sense now. I expect you'll wait for Silias to come and get you then? Not much I could do about that one. Maybe I'll wave and see if he recognizes me." She gave a rakish grin, knowing full well the boy couldn't.

"I know where my priorities lie," she muttered almost to herself, not looking at the other girl. Her eyes snapped up, her expression remaining slightly bored at the other girl's next words. "Don't lecture me about appearances," she snapped, finally, the girls words finally getting to her. "Why do you care so much about me anyway?"

"I wouldn't have to wait for him if you hadn't gotten me into this mess in the first place," she closed her eyes once again, no longer caring for the other's presence.

"It's my job to know a lot about a lot of people. It's how I get the bills paid." She grinned. "Ah, I get it. You don't like talking about your work. Too uncertain? Pity, really. We could clear a lot of that up right now. We have time." She gave a short laugh. "I'm not really interested in you as a person, not even your family line, really. You haven't done anything of note other than being born and living, have you? But you could say that perfecting the Raske line has come as a slight concern of mine. You also remind me of myself a little bit. The real me, that is. Not Viva." She waved a dismissive hand at her own appearance. "The next time you see me, you won't even know it's me. More's the pity."

The girl's eyes were closed, so Bonnie did what she did best. Her accent and appearance changing with a quick bit of magic that was quicker with practice, and suddenly she was Lydia. Her long strawberry blond hair and emerald eyes flashed, but she didn't make any other indication that she had changed, her clothing still the same. The girl she now was looked completely out of place in their surroundings, her clothes too big for her, her shoes clunking as she pulled them off. She shimmied out of the fatigues to reveal the tank top it had looked like she was wearing was really a white dress. All this was done in silence, all before Ksenia opened her eyes.

"You know..." Now her voice had a soft, feminine Italian accent, and she looked more uncomfortable with their surroundings than Ksenia. "You don't have to wait for him if you don't want to. We could go right now." She fidgeted slightly, playing with her fingers and frowning around. Smoothing down her dress, she continued to look about her, as if quite unsure of how she got there.

"I don't want to clear anything with you right now. I barely even know you," Ksenia sighed, leaning her head against the wall, tired. Why was this girl even talking to her? And why of all people did she have to get stuck in the same car as the person who started the riot.

Her eyes opened as she heard unfamiliar voice, not expecting to hear it. She blinked at the strange girl who was sitting in the same place as she blue haired girl was only moments ago. Nothing was the same between the two girls, not even their clothes. The Slushatel didn't' say anything, her eyes slightly wide before she shook her head to clear the surprise.

"I can't do that," the words came out as a sigh as she looked down. Sure, she could try escaping on her own or with that girl. But she knew that there were too many risks in that: risks that didn't need to be taken. Especially now when there was the security of an engagement.

"Let me tell you something I had to learn myself, Ksenia. Being the last of a line means nothing if you don't do anything but continue it. You will become nothing but a name in an old family book and it will say nothing important about you. I understand that you wish to remain unknow, and I understand that your family is at the top of your priorities, but honestly..." she bit her lip, a tick known only to Lydia. "Wouldn't you rather be remembered as the last one to do something, than the one who did nothing but continued the line?" She opened her mouth to continue, but the van slid to a halt, the doors flying open to reveal a hard faced - albiet, familiar - police officer his eyes slid over both of them, before he ordered them out, Lydia scrambling over herself to do so.

"You." He grabbed her arm and yanked her forward, glaring into her eyes. "Where is she?"

"You're hurting me." The italian accent was so thick that her words sounded more pathetic. "Let go!"

Throwing her away from him, the police officer stepped inside, eyes sweeping the empty space Viva had once occupied. He glared at Ksenia, as if this could be her fault, and stomped out. "Take them away!"

She'd stayed down. Two police officers helped her to her feet, and then guided her when she seemed unsteady. Another two helped Ksenia out, and escorted them into the major police stsation, walking them through the main entrance and down into the basement, toward the holding cells. Other so called 'Revolutionaries' were already there, pressing their faces to the bars and grinning as the noted the flour on Ksenia. None of them gave Lydia a second glance.

    Yet.

Ksenia only cocked her head to the side, her face remaining neutral as the other girl spoke. She did not give a reaction of any kind. There was no need to. The other girl did not matter. She did not need to prove anything to her. Her own plans, her own wishes were simply that, her own. "I am not going to be the last one." That was all she said. That was all she wanted to say and that was all she had time for to say before the doors were opened.

She didn't resist as the officers pulled her out of the car, keeping her head down. they did not matter. they wouldn't be able to do her any harm after all. They were simply a nuisance that her own stupidity has led her into.

They moved forward and into a building. People spoke around her, but she didn't pay much attention to them. She stumbled slightly from all the pushing and was pulled back up by the arms that were holding her. The Slushatel had the sudden urge to snarl at the man, but held in her emotions, keeping her expression cool as they moved further in.

The door of the cell was slammed shut behind them, the lock clicking into place. She grinded her teeth together and moved to sit down, not wanting anything but to get out of that place.

She shied away from the touch of the officers, leading them to not want to touch her, thinking her fragile and scared. How wrong they were. The moment the bars shut behind her, and their steps echoed away, she stood straighter, dusting off her white dress and looking about herself quite placidly. It was nice, for a cell. She supposed it was because they were kids, and one of them was most definitely the son of the quartermaster.

Once the outer door shut, all the prisoners' attention went straight to her, those in the cells closest pressing their faces to the bars to see her better. "How goes it, Lydia?" Asked a good looking boy from the cell beside them, his back leaning casually against the bars between them, so they could not see his face.

"Good, Sebastian." She answered, the answering cheers were riotous, and she was almost afraid that they would draw the attention of the officers on guard, but the sound of the door reopening did not catch her ear.

"Any news from her?" He asked, his voice softening almost drastically, barely audible over the cheers.

"All's quiet on the western front." She answered, stepping carefully across the stone floor to her bunk. Sitting primly on the edge, her emerald eyes fell on Ksenia. "How long do you think it will take for your Raske to come and fetch you?" She asked seriously.

Ksenia's gaze stayed glued to one of the walls, not giving any reaction to what was happening around her. she should not be here. Out of all the things that could have happened to her, to be dragged into a police holding cell for being a victim of such immature brhaviour was not something she would have though possible.

A sigh left her lips as he head leaned against the wall behind her, her eyes closing. Waiting was the only logical thing to do at that point. Any sort of communication with the young people around her was of absolutely no interest to the Slushatel.

The girl's eyelids fluttered up as she was addressed by the stranger she shared the car ride with. "I did not realise we have managed to become friends during our trip here," she said dryly,h er voice cool. It was becoming more difficult with every passing moment not to snap at the girl.
