It wasn't like Vera to be so distracted, unorganised - not like this, not when it came to this. Every other part of her life could be as hectic as she liked, but not her wolf, not her tracks of the moon. She was an alpha for the love of god! She had people she was suppose to look out for.
And yet here she was, running wildly through the streets, hair flying around her just as the load curses flew out of her mouth; in her hands where the strapy heals she had been wearing, around her legs the black cocktail dress clung, hindering her movement and causing her to curse all the more. What had she been thinking? Trying to go out partying on a this night. She hadn't even forgotten - that wasn't what it was.
She had just not cared; she had thrown caution to the wind, and thought she could push it. Now, tipsy as she was, she couldn't even recall if she'd taken her potion. She'd drunk a lot of things that evening. As she glanced over her shoulder, watching the clouds part in the darkening sky, feeling the muscles ripple beneath her skin she could only hope that she had.
And that she'd get out of the middle of the city before she changed; that would be the sight for the locals - the pretty woman who burst into fur and claws right before their eyes. A spectacle Vera was not.
Twitching was starting to hinder her body; gritting her teeth, she ignored it and kept running. The shoes were the first thing for her to give up - a hand spasm left them in a melting snow drift - she didn't have time to go back. Only enough to lament the lost of the money she didn't have to spend on them, and keep running. Spine attempting to arch, muscles tightening morphing, the woman let out a growl, and tripped, rolling on the ground and forcing herself to get up again.
The sight she made was one she did not wish to dwell on; she supposed anyone looking would assume she was merely drunker than she actually was. At that point Vera didn't even care, she couldn't rationalize why she was holding on any more, but she was, hobbling, swearing and growling her way through the streets of Port Durmstrang until at least, she tumbled to the ground of the blackened forest, rolling into a convulsing heap with relief.
Long blonde hair disappearing to be replaced by short think almost reddish brown fur, the seems of the dress, split, tearing uselessly as her back arched, cracking, bending contorting and then snapping back into place.
Silent the whole time, the final push let out a whoop that sounded almost closer to excitement, a whoop that was cut off as swiftly as it begun with a deep rich howl. Soft, padded paws sinking into the snow, Vera's sleek tail waves and she snapped her jaws into something that was almost close to a smile.
That was close Was what her whole expression spoke. Sniffing the air, she let out another howl, and another yip, reaching her senses out for other creatures.
Other breathing souls.
Other wolves.
Now that she was out, she was going to revel in it. After all, she wasn't a shewolf for nothing.
