    Shewolf Empty Shewolf

Post by Vera Parker Sat Oct 20, 2012 1:31 am

It wasn't like Vera to be so distracted, unorganised - not like this, not when it came to this. Every other part of her life could be as hectic as she liked, but not her wolf, not her tracks of the moon. She was an alpha for the love of god! She had people she was suppose to look out for.

And yet here she was, running wildly through the streets, hair flying around her just as the load curses flew out of her mouth; in her hands where the strapy heals she had been wearing, around her legs the black cocktail dress clung, hindering her movement and causing her to curse all the more. What had she been thinking? Trying to go out partying on a this night. She hadn't even forgotten - that wasn't what it was.

She had just not cared; she had thrown caution to the wind, and thought she could push it. Now, tipsy as she was, she couldn't even recall if she'd taken her potion. She'd drunk a lot of things that evening. As she glanced over her shoulder, watching the clouds part in the darkening sky, feeling the muscles ripple beneath her skin she could only hope that she had.

And that she'd get out of the middle of the city before she changed; that would be the sight for the locals - the pretty woman who burst into fur and claws right before their eyes. A spectacle Vera was not.

Twitching was starting to hinder her body; gritting her teeth, she ignored it and kept running. The shoes were the first thing for her to give up - a hand spasm left them in a melting snow drift - she didn't have time to go back. Only enough to lament the lost of the money she didn't have to spend on them, and keep running. Spine attempting to arch, muscles tightening morphing, the woman let out a growl, and tripped, rolling on the ground and forcing herself to get up again.

The sight she made was one she did not wish to dwell on; she supposed anyone looking would assume she was merely drunker than she actually was. At that point Vera didn't even care, she couldn't rationalize why she was holding on any more, but she was, hobbling, swearing and growling her way through the streets of Port Durmstrang until at least, she tumbled to the ground of the blackened forest, rolling into a convulsing heap with relief.

Long blonde hair disappearing to be replaced by short think almost reddish brown fur, the seems of the dress, split, tearing uselessly as her back arched, cracking, bending contorting and then snapping back into place.

Silent the whole time, the final push let out a whoop that sounded almost closer to excitement, a whoop that was cut off as swiftly as it begun with a deep rich howl. Soft, padded paws sinking into the snow, Vera's sleek tail waves and she snapped her jaws into something that was almost close to a smile.

That was close Was what her whole expression spoke. Sniffing the air, she let out another howl, and another yip, reaching her senses out for other creatures.

    Other breathing souls.

    Other wolves.

Now that she was out, she was going to revel in it. After all, she wasn't a shewolf for nothing.

He stood in the shadows of the forest, watching, pretending that he hadn't tracked her every step. He had to make sure she hadn't changed in front of all those people, and he was much better at holding in his wolf now. The protective growl that ripped from his chest as he watched her stumble was hard to contain, but he stayed there, out of sight, until she was safely in the forest. Safely on four paws.

He told himself it was his job as an Alpha to make sure she was alright, though his wolf was making the self satisfied sound he now associated with Kallie.

His wolf would not be contained the moment it smelled her, so he let it free, the change of skin as easy as shrugging on a new coat. The pure white of his fur stark against the shadows. He howled in answer, exploding into the clearing and lolling his tongue out at her. Her scent was sending his wolf into a frenzy, the reds of his eyes sparkling as he pressed his snout into the side of her neck, taking another deep whiff.

His wolf had no reservations in showing just how much he'd missed her.

Her ears picked up at the howl, her noise having already detected the familiar scent as the change of the wind brought it toward her, her tail's wagging increased accordingly; rubbing her head against his fur in a more tender greeting - Vera had missed him too - her tongue flicked out and she gave him a lick, before she let out a yip - mischievous in nature - nipping at him playfully and bounding away, only stopping at the end edge of the clearing to glance back to him, body posture playful.

Are you coming, or not? was what the way she pawed at the ground demanded of him. Another bark and she was off again gaining speed as she weaved around the forest, enjoying the freedom of movement, the light winter wind blowing through her warm fur. After the woman-turned-wolf finally tired this first burst of energy, she jumped a log, burrowing herself underneath the cover of a large bush, never doubting that Brock would be able to sniff her out eventually, but enjoying the hunt of it none the less.

He pawed at the ground and nipped back, though she was already gone. Giving a yip of challenge, he went after her, paws pounding over the earth, following the flash of her fur in the moonlight and the sound of her paws on ground. She disappeared quite suddenly, and he slid to a stop, ears perked for the slightest sound as his nose went to work over the ground. He passed by the bush she was hiding in and disappeared completely.

    Then he tackled her.

Rolling wolf over wolf, he eventually ended up on his back, her weight pinning him to the ground. Pressing his snout to hers, he licked her, for once in his life completely okay with being submissive in wolf form.

The stillness she had kept waiting for him - not a breath or a twitch, hyper focused on the sound of his approach - shattered, as she rolled with him snow and twigs sticking in her fur slightly, before they stilled. Pressing her paws against him she let out a little snort at the lick, her snout wrinkling slight - the image almost reminiscent of her own laugh in human form - before she licked in in return.

Rolling off of him, Vera proceeded to move him with her snout, poking and prodding until she deemed his position more comfortable and the flopped herself right back where she was, head and forepaws firmly placed on top of him, and she wrapped the rest of her body and tail around him so there was no part of them not touching. Content with her position, she gave something almost like a nod, and snuggled her head up against his. Only one thought coming to her brain, coming through each action.

    Mine.

He nipped playfully at her as she repositioned him, snorting as she laid back on top of him, but giving no outward objection. He sniffed at her, letting her scent sooth him as his tail thumped slowly against the ground. A low growl filled the air around them, but it was more a sound of soft complaint than a threat. Ears twitching, he let her continue to make claim, laying his head back on the ground and snorting softly.

His ear twitched again, and he gave a short bark, bracing his feet beneath him. He stood easily, as if her weight wasn't even there - though he did it slowly enough for her to get off first - shaking out his fur and sneezing before giving a wolfish grin and nudging her with his snout again. Tongue lulling, he took a few steps in the direction of distant howls, giving her a look to make sure she was following before starting off again.

    His pack was calling them.

She let out disgruntled yip as she found herself tail first in the browning snow. Her snout wrinkled in something like disgruntled annoyance before she popped right back up. Glancing towards the sound of the noise, and then back at Brock who was already in motion.

Vera, in her wolfish self, decided that so long as she was going to lose her fun little romp, she was going to be the bell of the ball so to speak. Waiting only for a second, she leaped forward at full speed, her excitement over powering the admitted larger male and disappearing into the forest a head of him, towards the other wolves.

Only to let out a howl of surprise as the woman - as impulsive as a wolf as she is as a human - completely missed the shallow ravine that she had barrelled herself snout first into.

The white wolf sprang into action right after her, moving with the ease his age hadn't quite robbed him of yet. White fur glistening in the moonlight, he continued to follow behind her, letting her lead.

    Until she fell, that is.

Leaping gracefully into the ravine, he snorted slightly, red eyes laughing down at her before he was pouncing out of the ravine and continuing on undeterred.

There was a moment of surprise - a slightly comical moment of 'how did this get here' - and then she was looking up, snapping at Brock in playful annoyance as he clearly showed off how 'great and magnificent' he was. She could have done that too...

If she had actually paid attention to where she was going.

Letting him run ahead for a moment - she did need him anyway, was the argument of her wounded pride - Vera took the time to get over the shock and bounce herself out of the ravine. Only to let out a sharp, high pitch whimper as she hit the ground. Pain, that was new. Settling down on her haunches for a moment, Vera squinted down at her paws, licking the offending one softly. It was her right front paw, the on that had taken the brunt of her fall, besides her face. Tilting it slightly, she let out another unconscious whimper, licked it one more time and then pushed herself onto her feet.

It would heal, and heal quicker than on others, and she'd been in worse pain before. Stealing herself, Vera took on limping step, and then another before she forced herself into a slightly painful, but surprisingly level run. After another half yip, the pain had all but disappeared and she let out a long howl as she ran after him.

It was just another Moon with Brockie.
