Romulus shuffled uncomfortably down the walkway to the house he was destined to live at for the rest of his life. He had never even met his father, and now the police, and foster care, and his dead mother all expected him to live with this unfamiliar man. Romulus was scared, but he'd try not to let it show.
The skinny eleven year old looked at the slip of paper in his hands. This was the address. He then looked at the letter from his mother, concealed inside an envelope. He forced himself not to cry as he pressed down on the doorbell, and stood there, letting it buzz until someone came to the door. What else would he do? He was socially awkward and eleven. He didn't know any better
