The reproachful look that Ksenia shot towards the pair was only present for a brief moment before the witch was grinning herself. It was easy to let the positive emotions to take control of her demanour for that little while when she shared breakfast with Silas and Cordelia. But the Slushatel wasn't fooled; she knew that the smiles and the light conversation was simply another masks that would appear and reappear when the child was present. She wouldn't have wanted, couldn't, let herself be in such a state for everything.

"Pancakes it is," she said with a warm smile before turning back to the counter. Her thoughts momentarily went to the ingredients and cookware that she would need to prepare what her niece had requested, though she remained completely aware of what was happening behind her. She let the man lead the conversation with the little girl, partly because it was enjoyable to listen to and partly because the two did not spend a great deal of time with each other.

"And what would you like your pancakes with?: she asked as she mixed the batter in a bowl.

The young girl beamed at the approval. Her young face was suddenly alight in a way that was not common, perhaps in this house hold completely unseen. She had very little need, or desire to make such an expression, guarded and withdrawn her life wasn't one for beaming, just like the laughter before it.

    But she adored approval.

"Yes Please," Shyly following the older man, the girl frowned at her glass before leaning up on her toes to push it onto the counter. She could not set the table if she was holding her juice, could she.

Bouncing ever so slightly, she turned her slightly less solemn gaze back to her aunt, "Sy-ree-up."
