Personality:

Luka tries to do the right thing and to be a good person, but often his own motives steer him in the wrong direction, leaving him blindly hypocritical. He likes to think that he's looking for the cure for immortality to heal the world, but a large part of him is doing it out of his fear of death.

He is, however, a skilled leader. He knows just what to say and when to say it, and is adept at making split-second decisions. Luka doesn't really have much of a personal life, as so much of his energy is focused on his work. He views the other members of the SoG as his family, and will do anything to protect them.

After his father died, Luka began to suspect that he was assassinated by an immortal, even though there was no evidence to prove it. Since then, his mistrust of anything non-mundane has grown to a near-hatred. Of both magic-users and vampires alike. Now not only does he condone violence against the subjects they study, he rather enjoys it.

Luka's family (on his mother's side) has been a part of the Sons of Galen for at least seven generations, 186 years, to be precise. His family on his father's side had been members of the cult for three generations. This was how Luka's parents met and fell in love, and when Luka was nine, his mother was appointed as the leader.

She stepped down when Luka was 27, just a few months after his father died of what was assumed to be a heart attack. Both Luka and his mother, however, were highly skeptical that was the case. She is now working as a government employee in her home country of Slovenia.

Luka himself has been officially working as a Son of Galen since he turned 18, though he has been a part of the cult since he was born. He was a chief advisor of the leader before him, until he was killed on the job only three years after the man was appointed the position. It was at this point, when Luka was 30, that he took his place.
