Overall history: Callista's mother - whoever she is or was - left her baby daughter in the hospital a few hours after giving birth. Lis grew up in orphanage where she and about five dozens other youngsters were treated almost like Jewish people during Nazi regime. In other words - hard work every day, barely edible food and physical punishments. But everything went even worse when strange things began to happen around Callista. Nobody seemed to be delighted by six-year-old girl's ability to lift things without touching them and to create invisible shields that protected her from being beaten for misbehavior. No wonder Callista soon became an object of hatred for most orphans - she lived in a place belonging to wizard-hating Muggle world after all.

Every single day was like hell. She had no friends at all, was constantly being blamed for various pranks she had nothing to do with and most of the time was locked in her room without permission to go out. And a group of older boys seemed to love playing Inquisition with defenseless young witch... which they numerous times burned with cigarettes after role playing trial that would always end with "judge" announcing something like "Guilty! Kill that freak with fire!". Being used as an ashtray was probably one of the reasons that made Deveraux to hate non-magical community so much.

Luckily, at the age of eleven Lis received a letter from Durmstrang Institute, saying that she's been accepted. Wizarding school helped Callista to change from a scared and angry girl into a strong and cold-blooded lady. However, while attending Durmstrang Lis didn't appear to be extremely special or talented in any way. Some detentions, few duels with classmates, marks somewhere in between good and average. Only after graduating Lis dived deeply into black magic, got involved in countless number of fights and finally decided that it's not for her to respect rules and live happily ever after. That's why she decided to go against the Law as it turned out to be unavoidable in order to live the way she actually wants to live.
