James was lying on his back, on one of the super comfy couches, his favourite couch at that. Everyday after classes he would rush into the common room and just lounge, taking up the entire couch, ensuring no one else could sit on it. He wasn't selfish, just...protective so to speak of the couch.
Rolling onto his stomach, he reached down beside him into his bag, and pulled out his sketch book and pencil. Flipping it open to a blank page he tapped the pencil on the side of his face and thought about what to draw.
The first thing that came to his mind was his girlfriend, Casey. He smiled at the thought of her and her smile. Nodding to himself he put the pencil to the page and started to draw her pretty face. He started with an outline of her face and slowly began to draw in the details.
It usually took him a couple of hours to draw a realistic human face, and indeed it was the same for this picture. It had to have been almost dinner time when he finished, but he wasn't hungry, so he started a new drawing. Another of Casey, though this time a full, in motion one of her.
He had never seen her fly, but he drew her the way he thought she would look if she was. Hair flying around her face, cloak billowing behind her.
James smiled to himself as he drew, feeling one hundred times happier than he had in a long time.
