In A Rich Man's World Empty In A Rich Man's World

One look at the crest on her robes was all it took for the people on the marble steps to move to the side as Ciar made her way up the steps of the bank. She was dressed to the nines and had left all her weapons with the exception of her wand at home out of respect for her goblin associates. It was an agreement between her and her account manager that allowed everything to progress smoothly. That and the money she slid their way didn't hurt either.

She entered the large doors and made her way into the interior of the bank. She had been here enough times and her family such a large client of the bank that if she announced ahead of time when she would be there a goblin was always there to escort her.

"Lady Whelan," the goblin, it was Nikabrik today, greeted her with a bow. "Always a pleasure. I hear the annual full accounting is on the schedule for today. We have arranged a team of five goblins to be on hand and another ten are on standby and at your disposal."

Ciar nodded. "My thanks, Nikabrik. May your coffers ever flow with wealth." She brushed a stray piece of lint from her robes and almost failed to realize someone she knew was approaching.

"Aren't you a bit... warm, in that getup, Cici?" Appearing almost out of the woodwork, the young half vampire loosed her patented crooked smile, stepping off the small step that helped her look over the top of the high desk the goblin helping her occupied.

The simple tank top and jean set she was wearing was cloaked by her deep emerald number, hood back, it allowed her now longer hair to fall down to her shoulders. Honey brown eyes sweeping her sister, she excused herself briefly, stepping elegantly down from her post and smiling.

    "How have you been, sis?"

"One must always be dressed to impress, dear Karma," Ciar shot back good naturedly after getting over the miniature heart attack she had at the other girl's sudden appearance. She swore that Karmz was part ghost or something.

A fond smile crossed her face as she took in her sister in all but blood. "It is good to see you back among the land of the living. I trust you've been keeping well." Moving herself so she was shoulder to shoulder with the girl Ciar wrapped an arm around Karma's shoulders. "If you aren't busy at the moment I'd love for you to come join me in my vaults. As fond as I am of the goblins they aren't very good conversationalists. No offence, Nikabrik."

"None taken, My Lady," the goblin replied smoothly. "Shall the Lady Black be accompanying us then? There is quite a lot to do and time is a precious commodity that should not be wasted.

Ciar waved a hand carelessly. "Nikabrik, time is unfortunately one of the things I have plenty of over the summer holidays and you forget I pay handsomely for the time and goblin power I require." She turned her attention back to Karma. "That cloak is absolutely stunning on you by the way. Then again I've always been very partial to green myself. And I love how long your hair is now."

"Luckily for me, I'm impressive enough without all that." She teased easily, grinning. Of all of the people she'd missed while she was away, Ciar was near the top of the list. Her sister was a commodity that could not be matched by any number of training, and she was one of the most permanent people the young vampire knew. Allowing herself to be taken away by her sister.

"Uh- Well I was only making a small- er- I suppose I could come down and help..." She kept her expression smooth and nuetral, though it was with obvious reluctance that she accepted. She did want to spend some time with her sister, but she of all people knew that these things could take all day to do, and she... well she had purposely kept Liks and Adrian waiting for her. They needed the money, and while she was sure Feliks would never admit to it, she was equally sure that he was glad to have her around.

"He's right you know. Time isn't exactly the most abundant thing in the universe. Slips straight through mosts fingers. I will come to help of course, but I do have places to go. I am a busy woman, you know." She smiled at Cia, but followed her lead nonetheless. It wasn't like the two would starve without her, and while impatient, Liks would get over it... probably.

"Do you like it?" She ran her fingers over the soft fabric, not too heavy during the summer, but warm enough in winter. "It was a gift." Smiling, she shrugged a shoulder. Gesturing to the tamed curls that was her natural hair. "Hate to say it, but cutting it was sort of a hassle. Less of a hassle to just let it do its thing, you know?" Licking her lips, she glanced around, not able to shake the paranoia that had been trained into her very bones. Goblins were trustworthy, that was true, but were they really people she would entrust her and Cia's life to? Not willingly, that was for sure. She barely trusted herself for that.

"Pish posh," Ciar said easily, guiding her sister over to the door behind which the cart waited. "You don't have to stay all day. I just want you to see the place. Plus I have something down there I want to give you. You can leave anytime after then if you so desire."

Releasing Karma's shoulder she took a piece of black ribbon from her inside pocket and deftly wound it around her shoulder length black hair creating a ponytail at the nape of her neck. "I wouldn't really know the hassle of keeping my hair cut. One of the house elves trims it up every month during the time I'm home and I just trim it myself while at school. Never have to take more than an inch off."

Nikabrik made a noise in the back of his throat from his place in the cart. "If you're quite ready, Lady Whelan."

"Yes, yes. Let us be off. There is a lot to do. Probably be down there for three days again like last time." Ciar made her way into the cart. "Come on, Karmzie. Shouldn't take more than five minutes to get there and then you can see Henrietta."
