    Sugar Sweet Empty Sugar Sweet

Scarlett wandered through Azorat with her father. She walked a few steps behind him as he looked through each of the shop windows, searching for the store he wanted to go into. As she walked, she searched for the store that was the brightest and most colourful.

The candy store. She had only agreed to go into town with her dad under the condition that Scarlett could go there while he got what he needed.

After a long hour or so of walking, Scarlett spotted the brightly coloured shop and tugged on her father's sleeve. "Dad, there it is! Can I go? Please, please?" she asked jumping up and down slightly. Richard Moore laughed at the sight of his daughter's excitement and nodded. "Go on. I'll meet you back at the square in an hour or so."

So off Scarlett went, grinning brightly as he bright pink and blue summer dress flew out behind her as she ran across the street. Pulling open the doors, she smiled and entered, instantly heading for the sour candies. There seemed to be more varieties of sour sweets and that made the Ravenclaw very happy.

As she began to look and observe the new kinds of sweets she looked around the store too, to see what other sorts of things she might take an interest in.

Jessica kept her head very low as she walked through the streets. Her hair was sitting in it's natural curls and she had rings under her eyes from the few days of lack of sleep. Thankfully, her 18 year old cousin, Beth, had allowed her to stay at her house until school started again, but it hadn't exactly been plain sailing.

It was fun, for a while. A few weeks was great, they would stay up late and watch DVDs, Jess would go out and walk around town without worrying about having to get home for a certain time. But when Beth started to go out more and leave Jessica home alone for a few days at a time, things sort of went downhill, meaning Jess had almost burnt the apartment to a crisp.

Jessica, after having tidied up the slight mess she may, or may not have made the evening before, had ventured out in to Azorat. There was a chance she was probably going to get her operation on her back done pretty soon, so she thought she may as well get as much going out done as she could.

The sweet shop was Jess's main destination. Her light green dress hung just above her knees, and while her general appearance wasn't much improved by the clothing she wore, it did a little to make her look like a bit more of a child. She stepped through the door and looked around her, grinning at her surroundings.

As Scarlett walked around the store, measuring different kinds of candies into different bags, she noticed someone who looked oddly familiar. If she was right, it was that girl she had bumped into at the Owlrey at school. Jess, was it? Yes, that had to be it.

Smiling at her from across the room, Scarlett skipped over and stood beside her. "Hey there!" she said brightly. She wasn't sure whether Jess would recognize her, but she tried anyways. "You're Jess, right? I'm Scarlett. From the Owlrey?" she said hoping that maybe that would jog her memory.

Swinging her bags of sour candy, as she bounced on her toes, she turned to the shelf that Jess was looking at and wondered if anything would catch her attention.

It wasn't until Scarlett spoke to her that she recognised the voice. Chirpy, upbeat. In honesty, any other day Jess would have been driven a little insane by it. However, under the circumstances that she was in a sweet shop and that she was feeling that happiness thing again, she let her lips twitch up into a smile.

"Yes, hello Scarlett," she said sincerely, not sure how she was meant to greet the Ravenclaw girl. She held a hand out to shake, seeing as that was the way she usually greeted the people she didn't know particularly well.

"What brings you here, then?" Jess asked, trying to keep the conversation polite as she let her eyes scan the shelves. Sour sweets were always her favorites; mainly because they let her feel stuff. Except they never really were that sour.

Scarlett grinned as Jess recognized her. She wouldn't have been surprised if she had forgotten her, since they had only met once, but Scarlett knew she usually made an impression on people the first time. Scarlett took the other girl's hand and gave it a firm shake.

"Oh, my dad is out buying stuff for my mom, and so I came along on the condition that I could come here." she said holding her arms out, gesturing to the shop. "What about you?" she asked, as she looked closer at the sour candies on the shelf.

They looked like gummy frogs, sprinkled with that sour sugar stuff that makes them so tangy, but they looked like they were full of something. "What do you reckon is in that? More sour stuff?" she asked, leaning back and looking at them from a distance.
