Lesson 1 (Second Years)

Blaire sighed and laid her head down on the table. The day had barely started, yet she was still do exhausted. She'd been so stressed lately about this or that that she had hardly been getting any sleep.

With another sigh, she stood back up properly and waited for her second years to arrive.

Koehl slipped into Herbology, brushing a leaf off of her shoulder. She looked around the greenhouses, and noticed that Professor Vandever looked rather...exhausted. She nodded to her in greeting.

"Good morning Professor." Koehl stood at one of the long tables, and noticed she was the first to arrive.

Anna merrily skipped into the greenhouse, hoping to learn something new this year. She has always liked Herbology, even though she wasn't exactly the best at it.

"Good morning, Professor!" she smiled brightly. She turned around to see her new friend Koehl from History of Magic standing there too.

"Hey Koehl!" she grinned, skipping towards her. "Aren't you excited for this year's lessons?"

Tobi arrived to Herbology on time and noticed two girls in class as well as the professor. "Hello Professor," he said before coming up to the girls and saying "Hi, My name is Tobi." He figured that if he was going to get anywhere this year he had better start making friends with the female gender or be alone for the year.

Anna turned to the boy that had just greeted her. She smiled at him in a very sweet manner and said, "I'm Annabeth, but call me Anna."

She smiled at Anna, and extended her hand to Tobi. "My names Koehl. And yes, I'm so excited for Herbology this year. It is quite fascinating..." Koehl smiled dreamily at a hanging plant in a corner.

"I hope we get to learn whatever that is!" Anna gleamed, looking dreamily at the plant Koehl was looking at. To be honest, she was just excited to learn anything, anything at all.

Koehl thought for a moment. "It looks...like a fern of some sort. Kind of useless ferns...though very nice yard accents." She shrugged and smiled

Anna laughed at that. "Maybe you can be a landscaper when you grow up!" she said merrily. "Making gardens of all Wizarding houses as pretty as possible!"

Koehl looked at Anna, considering that for a moment. "You know, that actually sounds very appealing. I know a couple of rich purebloods in desperate need of some landscaping...But, I won't really need to think about that for another five years." Koehl smiled and picked at the table wood.

"Just because you don't need to think about that doesn't mean you can't learn," Anna smiled, shrugging her shoulders.

She nodded at Anna's response. "You have a point thar." She twirled a lock of hair around her finger. "Oh, I just can't wait till class to start."

"Me neither," smiled Anna, looking around at the greenhouse. "Though I hope there are more people than just the three of us."

"Hm, yea. That would be a little awkward if it was only three of use, especially on two person projects." Koehl continued to hum quietly

"Oh come on!" Anna giggled. "Professor Vandever would make all three of us work together, even if it is a little uncomfortable."

She turned to Tobi. "No offense," she smiled.

"I don't know if it would be awkward. I think it would be easier, as the workload wouldn't be so...compiled?" She smiled at Tobi and Anna, and just couldn't help but think of a muggle story characters, Three Muskateers, she thought it was.

"Good point," Anna agreed, wagging her finger. She would have never thought of that. "Though it kind of sucks that I'm the only Ravenclaw here."

"Hufflepuffer power!" Koehl striked a very superhero like pose, hands on hips.

Anna laughed at Koehl's pose, so she decided to do one of her own. She pretended she was drawing out a sword and she was wearing a hat on her head.

"The Three Second Year Herbologists!" she announced. "Or... Herbies for shorts."

Koehl laughed. "Herbies sounds very much like another word I know..." She snickered and picked a leaf from the far side of the table, and just started to play with it.

Anna rolled her eyes. "Fine," she mock huffed. "I can't think of a nickname for toffee anyway!"

"Toffee?" Koehl cocked her head, wondering what the ravenclaw was talking about

"Oh..." Anna said emphatically. "You don't know what that is, don't you... umm... it's like sugar, caramelized, and it tastes so sweet... so soft..."

Anna started daydreaming about toffees right there and then, barely caring that she was in class.

"So...like Caramel?" Koehl's mouth watered at the thought.

"Oh..." Anna replied dreamily. "Oh yes..."
