New Year, New Friends ll OPEN

Anna sat calmly on one of the chairs in the Common Room. She missed the warmth of the place, and it had always felt like home to her. She got a book out of her bag, reading one of the Muggle books her mother had given her in the summer on Herbology. She was the only one there, though, and it makes her sad that she had no one to share her book with.

Jesi walked into the common room and saw one of her fellow Ravenclaws deeply immersed in a book. She really didn't want to disturb her, she she sat in one of the chairs further away and took out her guitar and began mindlessly strumming and occasionally writing down phrases into her lyric notebook.

Anna heard someone play the guitar for a little while, and she walked over to them, looking mildly interested.

"Nice guitar you've got there," she smiled. "I'm Anna. And you are..."

Jesi stopped playing when she noticed someone standing over her, "Oh, thanks. I've had it forever. I'm Jesi. It's nice to meet you. I just transferred here from the school in Australia."

Clarisse went inside the Ravenclaw Common Room, she was suffering from a slight headache and a blurry vision and kept stumbling everywhere. The Common Room was dark except for the light of the fireplace. She saw two girls talking to each other.

"Hi Anna." she waved at the girl who she met in DADA. And she saw another girl.
"You're Jesi, right? I think I saw you in our compartment on the train.. And in some of our classes.." she said.

She dropped her bag somewhere on the floor near the chairs and sat there.
"Have you guys done your essays? Y'know, Drying Charms..."

"Drying Charms?" Anna asked, before shaking her head. "I have no idea what to write about. I don't even have the right incantations!"

"Oh, that's a shame..I just came from the library. You can take a look at one of the books I borrowed if you like." she offered.

It seemed kinda silly, as she already finished her essay but she still brought a book with her on that topic.

Jesi nodded up at the girl, "Yeah, I am.. and you're Clarisse, right? But no, I have it about half-way done. I just needed a break to clear my mind and get new thoughts brewing."

"Thanks, Clarisse!" Anna grinned. "You're a lifesaver!"

Anna flipped open the book and quickly looked for the Drying Charms, soon immersing herself in it. She got herself a long roll of parchment and started writing numerous notes on it, making it look nothing more than a couple of chicken scratches.

Jesi decided that she probably should go ahead and finish the homework that way she could concentrate on her music without having that to worry about. She grabbed her parchment and began adding to what she already had down.

"Yeah, I am." she replied to Jesi.

"Oh, sure, no prob, glad I could help." she smiled weakly before collapsing on the chair.
"I am soooo tired..." she said to herself.

She thought about the classes she had today.
She thought about potions, mostly. The professor seems to dislike her a lot. In DADA, she escaped unscathed by a plastic slug. Charms was a total nightmare, but she loved it. Transfiguration was a bit emotional, and they haven't started flying lessons yet.

With so much things on her mind, it kind of lulled her to sleep, but the only thought that would keep her awake is that she was sitting in the common room and that she can't sleep there.

Anna looked at Clarisse for a second and shook her head sympathetically.

"I think you should go upstairs and go to bed," she said softly. "You deserve some rest after all the lessons we had today."

"Oh come on, I had as much lessons as you guys, maybe even less. You guys deserve just as much." she smiled a bit.
"I'm okay. Just not used to the classes yet, that's all. I got used to the summer vacation too much." she chuckled.

Anna laughed, "We all love the summer, don't we?"

She then shook her head in mock sympathy and said, "Unless, of course, you spent your summer in teh mountains. And that is not good!"

"Nah, I spent summer at home in England, I don't go away much during the summer." she laughed.
Come to think of it, she's only been to the beach once for a summer vacation. And that was before she started studying at Hogwarts. Five, six or seven years ago.

"Well, at least you get to enjoy the heat!" Anna replied enthusiastically. "In Bhutan, there is no such thing as heat. Just snow... and temples... and more snow."

Anna bit her lip, wondering what else to say. To make the moment less awkward, she continued to write her essay, which was close to two feet long already.

"Haha, no, I made my parents place some kind of cooling charm on my room, I think it's called an aircorn, so it didn't really feel like summer at all. I'm too lazy to get out of my room anyway, during the summer." she laughed.

"You spend your summers in Bhutan? Is it nice there?" she asked Anna. She's heard of the place, once or twice, but she doesn't have much of an idea of what it's like.

"Aircorn?" Anna asked for a second. Her eyebrows furrowed for a moment, as she was deep in thought, but then they relaxed in comprehension. "Ah, aircond!" She laughed at that, shaking her head at it.

"Bhutan is... snowy," Anna replied bluntly to Clarisse's other question. "And there are lots of ornate temples all over the place. They do seem nice at first, but when you stick around for a while... it can get a tad boring."

Neome walked into the common room, and sat somewhere by herself. She leaned aganst the wall, and closed her eyes.
