A Ravenclaw through and through (Open)

Miles walked into Florish and Blotts, he walked up to the counter " Um hi there, do you have The life and death of Rowena Ravenclaw Miles waited anxiously for a reply, he had been searching for this book everywhere, he was a Ravenclaw and proud of it, though his father was distuged when he heard Miles had been sorted into Ravenclaw, this still didnt change Miles's house pride

Charlottes ears pricked up and she sat up properly from her position of lying down on one of the large sofas so the boy wouldn't have seen her, with a smile Charlotte got up from the seat and walked over to him with a small smile.

"Sorry I couldn't help but overhear, I don't work here but I do know where the book is if you want me to come find it for you."

The amount of time she spent here it really wasn't that surprising that she knew where most of the books were, it was just peaceful for her.

A girl came up and approach Miles, offering to show him where the book was. Miles looked over at the girl and smiled " Oh, um yes that would be great thank you" as Miles followed the girl he thought to himself Hmm must be a Ravenclaw, though its strange I haven't seen her in the common room Miles didnt think much more of it, as for he was so excited to finally get the book he had been searching for everywhere

As October entered Flourish and Blotts she couldn't help but be excited for the new book in the Dragon Heartstring series, as she walked up down the aisle to where the Heartstring books were, she spotted her friend Charlotte helping someone else. After she got her book, she made her way towards Charlotte and said, "Hey Charlotte, how you been?"

Charlotte smiled happily and she motioned for the boy to follow her up a staircase, and as she was doing so she thought about how off it must be for a Slytherin to like books so, but knowledge could be used to your own gains, knowledge is power.

"Then if you'll please follow me, I haven't read this one myself but, I remember where it is perfectly well."

After she reached the book she picked it out and handed it to the boy with a soft smile:

"My names Charlotte by the way, Charlotte Matthews."

With that she turned and smiled widely at a girl that she had spoken to a few times and she thought it would be best to call her a friend, after all they got on quite well together. Waving her over she smiled again.

"Hello October! It's so nice to see you again."

"Hey, it's nice to see you too. Still a bookworm I see." October said jokingly.

October knew that Charlotte she liked books, due to the fact when the two were at school October would always find Charlotte in the library.

"Hi my name is October, what's your name?" Gesturing to the boy standing next Charlotte.

Charlotte nodded quickly, although she had been in the library more for the quiet and solitude of the place before now she actually took an interest in the books that were there for her to read and enjoy.

"Indeed I am, unusual for a Slytherin but there we go."

Gesturing to October Charlotte asked:

"What brings you here?"

"I had to get the new book in the Dragon Heartstrings series, friends say it's supposed to be really good," gesturing to the book in her hands "Have any of you ever read it?"

Charlotte of course had heard of the popular series but she had never read any of them because she was often too busy reading factual books, or books on how to do things, like make wizard pictures.

"I've heard of them but I've never read them, are they easy to follow? Bedtime reading if you will?"

"Ya, they are pretty easy to follow, good for free time reading or bedtime reading. You should read them they are very good."

Miles thanked Charlotte for showing him where the book was, she introduced herself with a warm smile, " Nice to meet you Charlotte Im Miles Bloxam, you probably know of my mother Amelia Bloxam" Miles was quite proud that his mother was one of the most noted potioneers of the wizarding world " Fortunetely i got her brains, as for my father is a complete blood purity supremist, he was in Slytherin so what can I say, there all the same really" Miles chuckled.

October, a girl from his potions class came up to Charlotte and began talking with her, in their conversation Charlotte revealed that she was in Slytherin, Miles's face went bright red with embrassment, he stepped foward to apologise to Charlotte

" Oh Charlotte, about that comment i made about Slytherin's I didn't mean you, your lovely and im sure your nothing like my father" Miles felt about about saying those things, she just doesn't seem like your typical Slytherin Miles thought to himself

Charlotte smiled softly and decided that she might get one of them to try out when the commission from her new painting came through, after all she did get paid quite a lot for them.

"Well then I might just give them a read, I just hope I don't get addicted or anything."

When Miles introduced himself Charlotte smiled happily at him, she was always glad to meet new people that she could be friends with, and Miles and October were lovely people. A little punch went through her heart when Miles said that all Slytherins were the same.

"I have indeed heard of your mother, she's very influential I remember reading some of her criticisms."

Her smile returned when Miles apologised and she shrugged her shoulders softly, she was alright with it, after all most Slytherind were like that.

"No worries Miles! For the most part you're right."

October smiled when she heard Miles, say that all Slytherin's were the same. It was a common mistake, even though when October first started school she thought the same way, but after meeting Charlotte she had some respect for them , I mean they are humans after all.

"Haha, it's ok Miles, that was my first impression too, but after meeting Charlotte, I realized that not all Slytherines are cruel," she said voicing her thoughts, "plus Charlotte is one of the nicest Slytherins I ever met." Giving Charlotte a smile.

Charlotte blushed slightly and felt her cheeks heat up with it, she didn't know what to say to these compliments so decided that she would just appreciate them for now, after all she didn't get many of them.

"Well gee guys, thanks, that means a lot."

Miles smiled back at October and Charlotte. Then looked down at his book. " Well I should probably go down stairs and pay for this book" Miles said, but as he was headind down towards the stairs, he was thinking about Charlotte's last name.

Matthews.. where have I heard that name before Miles thought to himself. then he suddenly realised, where he heard that name, he remembered his dad mentioning it, but he couldn't remember if he refered to the Matthews as friends No it couldnt be, all of my father's friends are dark wizards and blood supremists, Charlotte is to nice to have a family like that

Miles looked back at Charlotte wondering if she really did come from a family of dark wizards.

Charlotte smiled softly at Miles and as he went to pay for his book she looked at the boyC wondering just what he was thinking but she didn't have any chance to ask him before he had gone downstairs to pay.

"Oh uhm bye Miles..." she said sadly

Seeing him look back at her however she jogged downstairs and smiled at him softly, gesturing with her hand to the alley outside.

"If you want to meet me again some time I'm always around here somewhere, I'd quite like to see what you thought of that book, Uh, if you don't want to that's okay! But I'd like it."

Charlotte bit her lip and smiled softly again before gesturing back upstairs to October: "I best be getting back."

"Ya, I'll see ya around, we need to get together more often." October said getting her bag.

October was about to head downstairs when she turned back to Charlotte, "Hey do you think Miles is still single? Oh, who am I kidding he wouldn't want to go out with me. Anyways nice seeing you, Charlotte." And she left the store.

As Miles was walking the stairs he heard footsteps jogging up behind him it was Charlotte, she asked him if he wanted to meet up again sometime Miles smiled "Yeah of course sounds great, I'll probably be in here a bit too" Miles then went downstairs, and handed the book over the counter and searched through his satchal for his wallet.

When October went downstairs, she found Miles at the counter paying for his book. October started to debate in her mind if she should go tell him what she told Charlotte upstairs. October finally made up her mind and decided that she was going to ask him out.

She walked up to Miles and smiled, "Hey Miles, I was wondering i-if you w-wanted to meet up again sometime?"

'Why did I chicken out? For Merlin's sake I'm supposed to be a Gryffindor. I'm not a Gryffindor if I can't ask a guy out' October thought to herself.

Charlotte watched the interaction between the two friends with some form of amusement, it was funny that October didn't just ask him, after all, she was pretty and there was no real reason why Miles shouldn't say yes.

"Bye bye guys....you have fun now."

Winking at October, Charlotte waved to Miles and headed off down the street and home via floo in the Leaky Cauldron.

As Miles was paying for his book, October came up to him, she seemed like she really wanted to ask him something, Miles stared at her waiting for her to say something. She asked him would they like to hang out

" Yeah sure, how bout we meet at the Three Broomsticks in like three hours" Miles replied with a smile on his face, he senses that October was wanting to ask him something else, Miles didnt bother to think about it anymore

October saw Charlotte wink at her, October's faced started to go red. Turning back to Miles, she agreed to meet him at the Three Broomsticks in three hours, waving a bye to Miles she headed to her flat.

Three hours went by really fast according to her, right when she got home she got a light snack and worked on her homework. By 1:30, she had finished all her homework and headed to take a shower. judging by the hot summer weather outside she put on a white floral summer dress, she put her hair in a high ponytail, and put a little make-up.

By the time she finished it was 2:55, October got her black purse and put on her flats and flooed to Honeydukes. Saying hi, to the owner of the shop and dodging all the kids, she headed down to the Three Broomsticks. When she entered, she looked around for Miles, and found him sitting at a table in the back of the room. October waved at Miles and headed towards him.

"Hey!" October said smiling when she finally got to him.
