Hogwarts At Last | OPEN

Mary sat in a compartment, alone. Well, it's not like she wanted someone to be there with her.
Or maybe she does.

She sighed and thought about friends and enemies. It calmed her for a while. Thinking of breaking bones and what not. She can't wait to go to Hogwarts now. And be able to experience what its like to finally use magic. Legally.
A grin was evident on her face. She could use a fight. Just to wrap up a reputation. And then they would be afraid of her.
Those filthy muggles.

Cecile hurried through the hallway, falling once or twice when the train turned. Her head was swimming. The very last thing she had saw before the train left was Alexander's frightened face.

She quickly turned into the first empty compartment she saw.
But it wasn't empty.

"I'm so sorry," she said, "I'll just..."

She turned to leave

"Oh, wait" she said, suddenly before the girl could leave. "I think I could use some company"

"For a while" she concluded.

Cecile looked at the girl, smiled, and sat down. She took out a bright blue die and tapped it with her wand. It exploded into a strange three dimensional shape. Cecile looked at it mostly, but occasionally poked it with her wand. Sometimes, the shape would contort inward. Sometimes it would do nothing. Mostly, though, the spot she touch glowed red for a moment, and Cecile would quickly pull back her wand.

Mary was quite amazed by the girl's ability. Ah.. She'd do better with the snakes. she thought.

"So," she was lost for words at the moment. And the only thing that came out of her mouth was, "I'm Mary Santana"
She gave the girl a weak smile. "de Celle" she concluded.

Cecile put down the puzzle she was playing with and smiled, "Cecile Gregory."

"So," she said, "You're a de Celle? I think my mom wrote an article about your family once... she works for a wizarding newspaper in America and likes to feature pureblood families every once and awhile."

Mary had a huge grin on her face. Everyone knew their family. Everyone. And that's just how she liked it.
"So," she said. "Are you a pureblood too?"

"My mother is, but I'm just a half-blood," she admitted, "So, you're a first year too, right? What house do you think you'll be sorted in?"

Rowen ran through the aisles of the train looking for an empty compartment. Everywhere she saw was full. She had gotten to the train with just enough time to jump on it before it sped off. It wasn't in her nature to be late. She always wanted to be at least 30 minutes early, but, unfortunately, her mom was a lazy lima bean. She tended to be late at the fault of her mom. She breathed a sigh of relief at seeing a semi-full compartment.

She turned the handle and stepped into the room. It seemed that she had interrupted them talking. She gave a sheepish look as she hoisted her bag into the overhead and took a seat next to slightly dark-skinned girl.

"I'm sorry if I intruded. Everywhere else is full. Are you first years? I'm Rowen Huff," she said with a slight smile

Mary was pretty disappointed by Cecile's response. Well, at least she's not a muggle, she thought.
Just then, another girl went inside.

She just smiled and offered her hand, "Mary Santana de Celle"

Rowen smiled.

"It's nice to meet you. This is my first year. What house do you think you'll be sorted in?" she asked.

"Slytherin" Mary said quickly, grinning widely. "No doubt"

Rowen raised her eyebrows slightly. Her parents were Muggles, but she'd read about all of the houses. Slytherin had some qualities that she tended to have, but was definitely not the house she wanted to go in.

"That's cool. Hufflepuff or Ravenclaw sounds good to me," she inquired.

Iris was walking around, looking for her friends. She looked in one of the compartments and saw two younger girls, one of whom she recognized but couldn't remember her name. Hm, must be first years, she thought.

"Hey there, mind if I join you both?" She asked with a grin.

"Sure," Cecile said, looking the girl over, "Something tells me you're not a first year."

"Nope, I'm a third year." Iris replied with a smile and sat down next to the girl. "I'm assuming you guys are first years, 'cause I haven't seen you around before."

"Yes. I'm excited for the sorting! What house are you in?" said Rowen.

"I'm in Gryffindor," Iris replied, a proud smile on her face. "Personally, I think all houses are great because either way, we are at Hogwarts." She grinned. "So, do you both have house preferences?"

Mary shrugged. A Gryffindor.
"I believe Slytherin is the best choice" she stated, still observing the Gryffindor girl.

"I prefer Ravenclaw or Hufflepuff," she said with a thoughtful expression.

"From walking the halls, I can tell Hufflepuff is way down the list for some people, but I think there's more to them then everyone gives them credit for."

Cecile frowned. Now that she really thought about it, she hadn't really given it much consideration, "I'd be fine with any house really, but I guess I'd want Hufflepuff, since that's where my dad went." And because it's got the lowest level of smugness, she added to herself.

Rowen turned to the girl who had said Hufflepuff.

"I'm sorry. What was your name?"

She hoped she got in the same house as this girl. She'd at least have a friend.

Iris nodded her head slightly in agreement. "It's true. Not many people take notice of Huffepuff, even though it's one of the best." She grinned. "And Slytherins are given a negative attitude even though that is so not needed. I mean, I don't believe in that because one of my close friends is in Slytherin." She shrugged. "Truthfully, I don't understand the need for house rivalries."

Mary was kinda annoyed. None of these people even like Slytherin.
She just looked out the window without saying a thing.

"Hey, I didn't mean to say anything bad about Slytherin," Iris quickly commented, almost feeling bad. "Like I said, one of my close friends is a Slytherin, so of course I can't say anything. I told you all, all houses are brilliant because we are at Hogwarts either way." She grinned slightly.
