Mary didn't move. "Whatever," she murmured.

Rowen noticed the tension building in the room and attempted to cut through it.

"I don't mind Slytherin. I think it just gets a bad rep. From what I read a lot of bad guys have come from Slytherin but that doesn't necessarily mean Slytherins are bad. You seem nice," Rowen said giving a small smile.

"I'm Cecile," she said, holding out her hand to the other girl who mentioned Hufflepuff, "Here's hoping we're in the same house."

She looked across from her and saw Mary beginning to sulk. Cecile tried to change the topic, "So, what classes is everyone taking? I'm just doing the basics for now. You know, Transfiguration, Potions, Charms, D.A.D.A, that stuff, along with Care of Magical Creatures."

"Nice to meet you. I'm Rowen," she said, though she thought she'd already mentioned her name.

"Same. I'm really excited for Charms! Professor Flitwick was the one who came and explained magic to my parents. Muggles, you see. They were a bit surprised but they accept it. Anyway, Professor Flitwick seems really nice!" she said enthusiastically.
