Astronomy ~ Lesson Two ~ All Years

Colin sat in his chair and awaited for the students to arrive. Today, after the dismal appearances with his last lesson he was going to forgo dividing the classes and just smush them all together.

He figured that they could all benifit from each other anyways. It wasn't like Astronomy used magic in which the forth years would be much more advanced than the first.

With his plan fully in place he leaned back in his seat and had nothing left to do but wait and see who would be appearing this time.

Charlotte had left the dungeons a lot earlier than user since Astronomy was a lot farther than her other classes. Besides, after being away from Hogwarts such a long time, she needed to be on time to her classes and not give herself a bad reputation.

When she arrived to her designated class, she realized she must have been a lot earlier than usual considering that only the Professor was present. She took that time to introduce herself.

"Professor O'Brian," she nodded politely as she extended her hand for him to shake. "I'm Charlotte West, I'm sort of new here and I'm a fourth year Slytherin."

Anna walked in the classroom. She prided herself on being early, and even though she was not the first person to arrive at that lesson, she was more than glad to have not been late. She quietly greeted the Professor and took a seat, too bothered to say anything else.

She almost forgot that she had to go to astronomy, for she was so tired that day, too tired. Even so, it was her favorite subject and she couldn't miss out on anything.
Plus, she really liked the professor.

"Sir", she said, nodding her head. "I'm here, on time."

Tess looked around and saw Charlotte so she went to her. "Mind if I join you?"

Iris hurried up to her next favorite tower of all the castle and the fun subject she would be glad to spend the rest of nights in. She greeted the cold night breeze with a smile and gave a short nod to the professor.

Once she saw the rest of the other students, she took a seat beside them - Anna specifically, and waited for the class to start. She decided to not to talk since most of them wouldn't bother to in the first place. Instead, a gaze through the sky would be enough to fill in her time.

Kirsten was looking forward to Astronomy. She had thoroughly enjoyed the last lesson, and the Proffessor was nice enough, so she was quite eager to arrive at her lesson and-

Kirsten stopped abruptly. In the classroom the seats that had students in them were occupied by people who were blatantly not first years. "Oh dear," she murmured under her breath ... she was sure now was her lesson time?

"Uh, hello ... Proffessor," she said shyly, looking around desperately for a place to sit.

In her desperation she spotted a fellow -albeit, older- Ravenclaw girl and perched nervously next to her, adding in a whisper, "Mind if I sit here?"

Nancy walked into the classroom, looking a bit frightened. She loved Astronomy but she wasn't really one that everyone liked. She sat down in an empty seat, but stood back up when on student gave her a look of disgust. "Seat's taken... I get it." She said, sitting down in an empty row.

"Good day Professor, hope you had a good holiday!" Iris told with a grin as she entered the class. She spotted Eye and went to sit next to her. "Hey, guys." She greeted Eye and Anna.

"Do you have to ask?" Charlotte replied with a smirk as Tesla took a seat next to her. "How's the only tough bitch I know doing?" She was careful to cuss though. Last thing she need was to be part of her Professor's bad side.

"Oh I'm rather well, although I scared few of the younger students before class", she smiled, whispering so the professor doesn't notice their talking. "And how's my favorite kind of bitch doing?"

Nancy took a few deep breaths and walked over to them. "Excuse me, but can I sit with you guys?" She asked the girls.

Thomas walked into the classroom to see he was the only boy here besides the professor. Thomas walked further in and took a seat. "Hello professor, ladies" Thomas greeted to everyone.

Nancy turned around, her heart stopping for a few seconds. "Hi." She said, softly.

Hades walked into the classroom. "Hello professor, ladies, Iris" Hades gave a small smile and took a seat at an empty table.

"This girl is doing quite well, thanks for asking," she said with a small laugh as she rolled her eyes and crossed her arms. "Talking about scaring first year students, why don't we gang up and try to scare some small innocent, by standing children."

When Charlotte saw a fellow male Slytherin walk in, she couldn't help but roll her eyes at him. Who says hello to a group of people just like that?

She heard a girl with Slytherin robes talking to Tesla and her in a soft voice; or at least she thought she was talking to them in particular. She turned to face the girl with a curious raised eyebrow, "Are you talking to us?" She then pointed at Tesla and herself.

Iris greeted Grayson and the rest of the students she knew. She waved at her friends, including Thomas, and turned her gaze on the young Slytherin who seemed to be lost for a seat. She gave an apologetic look and tried her best to sound nice to the girl,

"Hey. Come sit with us. We don't bother. We'll enjoy the rest of lesson, kay? So stop worrying and get comfortable around us. No problem with first years. Been there. Done that. I'm Eye by the way. And the Gryffindor girl there is Grayson. We're both named Iris so we came up with nicknames."

She smiled warmly and offered a seat close to her group. She then looked at the girls who were sounding too mean and gave them a sympathetic look. What's up with the higher years nowadays? So soon-to-be bullies became some another trend?

Iris smiled shyly and said with the polite tone she used to have on strangers as to not sound rude. Or maybe, they're the ones being rude all the time? And swearing? This generation is getting weird as ever.

"No she wasn't. I think she's talking to us. And if you may, I'm taking her now to this seat which I humbly offered to her. So that things will go fine and finally be in peace. Then we wouldn't bother anybody else's business."

Nancy gave a soft smile at Eye and followed her to a seat. "Thank you." She said quietly, sitting down in a seat. "I'm Nancy Riddle." She said, smiling softly.

Anna widened her eyes in contempt at Eye and rolled her eyes. "Dude!" she whispered, snapping in her friend's ear. "I thought you know what I feel about people I just met." She bit her lip. There had been a couple of exceptions, but she couldn't think about them.

She shook her head at Eye and nodded at the Slytherin girl. "Um... hi, Nancy. Uh... call me Tshering. 'Cause Eye gets to be called Eye and Grayson gets to be called Grayson and it is absolutely unfair I don't get my own nickname," she replied, laughing idly. "And swearing is not that bad, Eye! I do it all the time!"

Iris laughed at Anna's comment. She turned to address the Slytherin girl. "Actually, Grayson is my last name so I don't think it exactly counts as a nickname." She told with a chuckle. Getting the feel that they were going to be engrossed in the conversation, she went to sit next to Hades.

"I have never been more glad to have you in one of my classes," she said to him and grinned.

Nancy sat down, feeling nervous. She was surprised that they didn't ask if she was related to the late Voldemort.

Iris grunted and turned to look at Anna. She shrugged and tried her best to explain in a soft whisper still with making sense to what she was up to,

"Hello? They're trying to be mean? I felt it. And besides, she's getting picked about by the higher years than the rest of us. Surely, you wouldn't want that if you're a first year? People these days."

She frowned and forced a low laugh to what Grayson said. She had to at least show she was amused to not be too absorbed by the quick and rather negative encounter. Lately, she's being the side of hers she's avoiding. And she noticed that for one.

"Gang up, of course, that's an awesome idea", she started talking but was then interrupted by a small first year student, by the looks and robes, another Slytherin. Tesla gave her a curious look and turned to Char when she asked them if she could join them.

"Well...", she was about to comment when another Slytherin said something. "What's with all the snakes here?", she asked the newcomer, Eye apparently and frowned when she took the other girl with her. "Rude", she said to Charlotte. "Too rude to let it pass just like that."

Anna shrugged her shoulders. "No one bothered Nat and I when we were first years, even though we were crazier than you. I'm sure these two girls are nice people," she frowned. She sighed and looked at both Irises, and Nancy, of course. "Be right back."

She walked over to the older Gryffindor and Slytherin and sat next to them. Even though she was feeling a bit shy, she couldn't admit that now, could she? "Um... hey," she began rather hesitantly, though as she went on, she gained some more confidence. "I'm Anna. Or Elsie. Or Tshering. Whatever. You?"

Cepheus entered and looked around at all of the people already there. All of the years were together now.

He droppedhis bag and sat down next to it, shuffling slightly so he could get comfortable and then looking around at all of the people talking to each other. He.. didn't feel like talking to anyone, but if they started talking to him he would reply.

Charlotte raised an eyebrow when the other Slytherin girl offered the first year a seat and then said to Tesla while rolling her eyes, "Rude indeed. I was merely posing a question, really. I was just confused who she was talking about. Who knew that asking a question would turn out to be 'rude'" She then proceeded in doing air quotes around the word rude.

When a young Ravenclaw approached them and introduced herself, Charlotte couldn't help but wonder if she was going to start something. But when she didn't, she uncrossed her arms and looked at the girl who seemed brave enough to come towards them after her friend had been rude. It takes a lot of courage to talk to people whom your friend seem they don't like so Charlotte couldn't help give the girl some credit. And with a barely visible smile, she nodded.

"Tshering has a nice ring to it," she admitted. "I'm Charlotte."
